Goes to my theory of the fact that the 70's had the best music. Please compare with the sh't we have today, sampling, voice overs. I'm sick of it, what about real musicians playing real music. It's cause the masses are taking it, with a smile on their faces. Love this music and what it stands for, thanks for posting. One of my favourite songs, sounds as good as the firest day I heard it.
Most unselfish performer. Always plays long sets and loves his audience comes alive like no other. A show man form opening to close. Best concert I ever witnessed. He brings it all to the table...You can tell he loves his fans,, We love him. His Earnest qualities keep him approachable. I collect on vinyl any compositins that have ever been arranged by the maestro. god speed DB
Every time I hear this song all I can picture in my head is John Lennon poking his head in at various points durring recording and saying the high "Fame" vocals, and then going back out until the next "Fame" vocal part!!!!
This was part of a bonus CD with the "Bowie @ the Beeb" box set ... would have paid well above normal price for it, it is so class! Some great rearrangements of songs not normally associated with DB's live set!
It's like he used music for a paintbrush and clay... Everything he put out there was a work of art. Truly a gifted soul. I'm very sad to see this icon go. I have a feeling he had a lot more master pieces to blow our minds with if he had the chance. RIP Mr. Bowie and know wherever you are, you are sadly missed.
I remember this song as a kid being played by our next door neighbor, speaker rocking the walls sounding so damn good, not knowing it was a good looking white guy. I miss music being music having no color. Just jamming.
His hair's prettier than mine. Is that bad? Ha. Urrrgh, that man is so gorgeous. And the voice! I love the voice! ^_^ I agree with you, BowieLover2, that expression was awesome. Haha!
@3:36,love that come on little suckers, omg can't get enough of David Bowie,he is so handsome and sweet and funny, all of what i love in a man.big fan in Canada, deathnotes mom,Barabara:)
An awesome vital artist with unrivaled staying power (only Neil Young and Bob Dylan come to mind as being in his league in this regard). Look at the joy he still possesses while performing...
He's got such a marvellous live band! THe original was perfect, yet this one is no less enchanting. Yes I agree with the metal association. I think this gotta to with the bassline.
holey crap how have i not heard of him before?! sometimes i swear i was born in the wrong generation. I have to grow up with all of this pop shit! why couldn't i have grew up with this?!
@GeminiSpaceship "This song was written by David Bowie and John Lennon." Actually it was written by Bowie, Lennon and the fabulous Carlos Alomar. Listening to other songs from the same album, Young Americans, you can hear Alomars stamp all over "Fame". The funky R & B/ Soul flavored chordal work is vintage Alomar, and I would wager it was more his song than Lennons, whom I am a huge fan of also.

Correct! Thanks for pointing out!
the space BETWEEN the notes is VERY important...sometimes it takes time to learn that...
