Thank you for an easy to understand video. From a beginner's perspective, it was just what I needed. I felt like I was with a friend who was taking time to explain things to me so I would have the best experience.
Hey Jim, Im Kenny from Zambia, Great Video, I'm starting to ride for the first time this weekend and after watching your video I feel like I'm ready. Keep up the great work. Thanks
Thanks man, you really explained the clutch wel! That 1/3 power thing helped a lot to understand the level of power you need. No one rly explains that well.
if ur going to buy one soon I would reccomend getting a kawasaki because they are good begginer bikes and are good for learning the clutch, they have a good amount of power but not too much to where you are lopping out all the time.
Hey man! I really like your videos. I never have a clutch bike before and thinking of getting one and you video really help. Thank you so much brother!
Hey there. Thank you so much for the info. Best video out there not to mention camera quality. Youve cover lots of small but important info. Ill get my dirt bike now because of you. Thanks.
Thank you for this helpful video congrats you just won a subscriber I took a look at your chanel and I saw that you aren't posted for 5 years so you probably are not going to read this comment but I hope you do... Please make more videos like this you are going to make it I believe in you!
Thanks for this detailed video. I'm a beginner and didn't know about using my knees to push the bike left to right, seems much safer to get around a 'sudden rock' on the path. I just don't know how to use the back brake while standing on pegs...seems impossible. I suppose I could shift down without the clutch to slow down and not lose control going downhill on a riverbed.
If you are going into a tricky area stand on the pegs put your head over the handlebars then x scoot your butt back it will give you more control going through a ditch with mud in it or going over logs do the same but pull the clutch in keep on the throttle an when you hit it let go of the clutch fast and give it more gas to wheelie right over the log.
nice vid! i ride a little different but I tried this way and is works well too! with the braking tho using the front brake works better, if ur going fast using the back brake will lock up your back tire and you will just skid, use the front going downhill too. also I usually ride (mostly) the whole time standing
I’m two years later cause I’m just getting a DirtBike but when you ride do you use the clutch to speed up or just move the throttle to speed up? Because I’ve seen people who ride pull the throttle down and make that “Vrmvrmvrmvrm” sound and not speed up?
If you were to buy a dirt bike from a pawn shop would it be a ok buy as in legal. Iv heard stolen stuff gets sold their but does the same apply to dirt bikes.
Fuch - you never, never, NEVER stomp on a gear lever. Move the bike slightly (and therefor the gear box) and push on the lever. There are splines, cam plates, cam pins, selector forks and all sorts of things that can be bent, broken and stuffed with between your clod hoppers and the gears.
@@wtrboyy6200 alr thanks and one question ...do I have to hold in the clutch when starting the bike in gear and if it's in neutral I dont need to? I have a 19 yz450
@@mickmcloughlin1646 it really was ...rode it 3x and it's not fun riding wen it has too much power kinda wasted my money since I still have 3k to finish off paying
Knive_Hunter i’m 15 and 5’5 and ride a 150 and it took me a couple weeks but it’s perfectly fine for me. I started riding when i was 9, on a 50, than an 85, than a 125, now a 150 and i’m perfectly safe and confident in myself while riding. You should be perfectly okay. If you’re 15 or so and just starting i’d recommend a 110cc/125cc.
I think in uk you can be 14 or 16 to ride but you need to learn the basics and use a 50cc with a Learning plate then you can get a higher cc when you’re 18 I think I’m not sure

Looks like your next video will be "how to replace a broken shift shaft".
😆😆😆
thats true
Stupid facts

Bro! GREAT video! Getting my first dirtbike for my birthday it’s been my childhood dream!
Did you get it bro?
Also you dont need the clutch shifting in general but its tough on the gears if you dont and you let go of the throttle when you are shifting
You know exactly how to explain it well better than experts, and for a fact people still don’t listen when they ride a bike
So well explained, thank you! Going for the first time tomorrow with the neighbour!
Never rode before wanting to buy one soon but this helped me a lot aster watching videos I didn’t understand how to use the gears but this helped

You would definitely have the coordination for it lol
Thank you so much for this awesome video it helped me out so much
Been riding for 11 years yet I still watch this? My logics*
Brilliant explanation Thx!!!
I'm new to this biking situation, and I think you don't stomp too hard on a shifter and don't do it too much, it will break the shifter.
My first dirt bike is a 250
I’m brand new to 2 stokes. When shifting outside of launch do I always need to use the clutch when shifting up/down
Thanks you’ve helped me out

you would only use the throttle, the clutch is for disengaging the gears, you need them to stay engaged for you to ride at all : )
whats the name of this dirtbike
I think nobody even boys 15+ doesn't need to know how to start a bike, this is very funny 🤣
If you were to buy a dirt bike from a pawn shop would it be a ok buy as in legal. Iv heard stolen stuff gets sold their but does the same apply to dirt bikes.

LouFTP X it’s four stroke you can tell because on the right side of the bike a two stroke has this fat looking pipe on the bottom sticking out
