Remember the wolf is the form that Death took to hunt the Puss, but in theory he can take any form in order to hunt whoever is meant to die; what you saw in the movie was only a fraction of its power. Not everyone understands how op and strong is the concept of Death: that is the end incarnated, and can kill anything (being mortal or divine).
