As someone who has played this game through about 25-30 times and is his favorite game of all time the first 20 minutes or so were legitimately painful to watch.
He lacks even basic common sense. He wasn't aware that he needed to walk over a button in order to activate it. When a child is capable of grasping these concepts before you, it's time for you to seriously reevaluate your abilities as a "professional" gamer. But remember, he could be good at games if he wants to guys. One of the best gamers in the country at work. :^)
Yohhamgambal lol U really think he sees the usefullness of the box breaker Hes not gonna try for all weapons and definatly not trying challenge mode Soof course to him Its useless lol

Prime DSP logic again, runs past all the enemies "HAWHAWHAW I can just run past everything", 10 seconds later "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ENEMIES, WHY ARE MY WEAPONS UNDERLEVELED!?"
5:00 God I love that editing. I remember this is the boss where I thought "Thank Insomniac for STRAFING!!" and proceeded to hold down the strafe button for the entire rest of the game. Then Insomniac, apparently noticing my habits, added the auto-strafe mode in the third game. _Good on you, Insomniac, learning from your mistakes, unlike this guy._
0/10 + Fantastic menu controls + Can replay movies + Great hack and slash gameplay - Lacks some form of "strafing" which could be useful in combat. - Too much bugged IGN
RyuakiraX I'm kinda thinking that's the joke. He made it halfway through the first Jak and Daxter game without finding out about the kick attack, after all.
No, but there's a tutorial level. To be fair, none of the moves you need to know are told to you there; I'm assuming that it's assumed you're going to take the time to figure them out. Occasionally, Keira's communicator or Daxter will give you helpful tips.
1:00:17 "This is impossible!" Phil, I beat this segment as a 10 year old, and as a teenager I beat it on a self-imposed challenge playthrough (No Upgraded Weapons, No Armor, No Buying Ammo from Vendors). CLEARLY not impossible.
For shooting the hover turrets at 25:00 I just hit all until they're damaged badly (blueish smoke) and then I finish them off one after one so they cant recover. Plus, it's faster and less disorienting.
+FS10inator Not gonna lie, that part where you made the custom messages on the Damage Avoidance challenge and the Joba Hoverbike race had me cracking up. Kinda makes me wish it was actually part of Phil's copy of the game just to make us laugh when someone would do a How to Not Play compliation of this game.
+Signerdragon123 Nothing is better than taking advantage of the game's UI and HUD! As for those two parts, it works best if you know what font is used in the game and where.
I like all the little extra bits added in during editing especially the race near the start and how you take the piss but also convey genuine confusion as to how he managed to complete the race first try but is unable to control and complete basic functions.
Love how at the start of the game he's like "Strafing! They finally added strafing!" and then 5 hours later he completely forgets about strafing. Jesus fuck this game isn't even this hard holy shti.
I swear, half the time he is whining about how much damage he takes; is due to the fact he literally sometimes just sits there and stands still while enemies shot him. What's dodging?
Man, that megapede battle, before I learned what the wrench ninja 2 skill point was for, I thought it was destroying megapede with the wrench alone, since the previous wrench ninja skill point was for the boss of the other arena. Had to use the first-person mode so I could move and throw at the same time. It took soooooo god damn long to beat, and I thought I somehow messed it up and did it like 3 more times.
Man, I played the hell out of this game when I was younger. I must have been 9 years old when I beat it without any difficulty. Though seeing Phil play this gem makes it look as hard as dodging rain.
Now that I've beaten Going Commando, I can put in my two cents. Unlike the first game, where it had more legitimate problems (and made some great rage from DSP) this game is more polished, and thus the TIHYDP as a whole felt less memorable. Still, I was laughing a lot at DSP's constant missteps. Just total blunders that took me by surprise. I wish there was more rage on Protopet, though. I died so many times to him before I learned super bouncer was OP.
He is doing a run of the new ps4 ratchet and clank. I'm not sure if he still suck or not because I have not watched it. If it's bad can you make a this is how you don't play ratchet and clank ps4?
+Jamaican Champion I think he's just doing normal, as usual. He said that if he had known it would be that easy, he would've actually cranked it up to Hard.
What I'd love to see is how the developers would react to this guy. Two of them have a channel on youtube and it would be the best thing for them to see. I bet they'd laugh pretty hard.
Ratchet Wrench I can't think of much that he won't die against. Hell, knowing him, he might die in the path of death. I'm really waiting for the moment that he gets the box breaker again just to say that it's useless.
I get a good laugh out of this video even today, always fun sharing it with new friends that are fans of R&C. Going Commando was the first game I played in this series, I've been following the franchise since 2006 so seeing a grown ass man struggle with something I was able to understand 6 years old is hard to believe, yet here it is neatly compiled showing how completely unwilling he is to learn game mechanics.
I am from this future generation and i find this a little offensive. Please say the degenerated part of the future generation. Except when you were joking. Aint sayin nothin if you were.
Somehow he expects every single game to be street fight....... Stand, and button mash? And he thinks that's the winning formula. Nothing else goes through his tiny little mind except run, hit button, die
To quote Courtney Gears: "Don't you ever shut up?" He used the sniper rifle twice in the game. Many of his woes would have been avoided if he had simply used the sniper rifle more.

We wouldn't want you to be able to actually focus on fighting the serpents! 1:29:40 imagine how much sooner you could have been here if you applied that stratagy to the rest of the game!
As terrible as he was the one thing I'll give him is that Gelbin (Moonstone planet) needed to lose a few enemies or in some way make them a little easier to deal with as they hit fairly hard and can take a substantial amount of punishment before going down especially in large numbers :) Other than that he sucked.
dont understand how someone who showed off the new strafing at the start of the video never uses it again, how does this guy even get out of bed without getting lost each morning?
Ratchet and Clank is probably one of the most intuitive games I know of. I will admit I am biased because I grew up playing this and Spyro before it, so of course I know how to play, but I can tell you that I've seen people also figure it out just as easily as my 5 year old self on their first ever try. Insomniac did everything they could to have this game make sense to as many people as possible, but as Phil has shown, their best just wasn't good enough.
I have an extreme love hate relationship with this video lol sometimes I laugh at mistakes but at times I am almost ripping my hair out at the simplicity of some things

14:33 ive been playing this game since my childhood and i never knew you could get that item by stalling out the glider at the very beginning. ive always had to go to the very end to turn around and come back.
One thing I will praise Phil for though, is that he is at least good with using the map in most of the games that he plays. I know a lot of people, including me, who almost never use game maps.
35:47 If Phil can't learn how to properly strafe, then don't expect him to figure out how to switch grind rails without dying a hundred of times or looking at his stream chat.
I'm new to this channel. Who's this Phil dude, and does he know this "This is how you DON'T play X" series exists ? And why does he keep making playthroughs if he handles a controller like a duck handles a shovel ?
1. He is DarkSydePhil (aka DSPGaming), a gaming channel on YT, and he sucks at playing games. 2. Yes. He is aware of the TIHYDP series of videos. 3. Probably for money.
I wonder if he's not doing it on purpose. I mean... It's not only the fact that a 10 years old kid would play Going Commando much better than him, it's also the complete lack of logic, the way he doesn't pay any attention to the instructions. It can't possibly be genuine, right ?
I'm convinced he would've learned a lot faster with a shock-collar
Or a DreadZone Deadlock collar. Not only will you get a painful shock when you do something wrong, but your collar will self destruct if you try to take it off.

the third one was always my fav but the second was good too
I must have played this game dozens of times myself. Sad that I only played the newer games once or twice. Shows how insomniacs lost it
Thebluehydra More like the whole video, except I found it to be hilarious.
The feels :( its not as if I have completed every ratchet game at least 5 times.
This guy reassures me that my dumbest moments within R&C gameplay were actually moments of sheer genius on my part. Sheer genius.
My dumbest moments when playing this game for the first time was doing it Wrench only for the most part.
Phil makes my 7 year-old me proud of myself for not being complete shit at gaming.

One thing I will praise Phil for though, is that he is at least good with using the map in most of the games that he plays. I know a lot of people, including me, who almost never use game maps.
it is your favorite game ever??? Same here. I think. Well, it's kinda tied with Sly 2. Great game, also.
i love this game
yeah me too.
The only R&C I hate is ffa
rly? Same here!
Even going mobile was a nice distraction

If Phil can't learn how to properly strafe, then don't expect him to figure out how to switch grind rails without dying a hundred of times or looking at his stream chat.
This is hard to watch. How can I understand this game at the age of 13 and he can't as a full grown man. He gives Phils a bad name.
This dude is like those actors in infomercials who have trouble doing anything
Doesn't this game have lock-strafe or was that not introduced until ratchet 3?
Alleged Girl #7 Lock-strafe was introduced in Ratchet 3.
***** hold r2 and you strafe no problem xD
ratchetcrafter I always do that!
I feel massive shame right now. I had no idea the Box Breaker even existed before I saw this video.
Believe it or not, some people really are this stupid.
