The team at FixnZip shows you how to repair a broken zipper on a closed end zipper, on a sleeping tent. For more information, or to purchase the FixnZip, visit our website www.fixnzip.com/
Going to buy this and try. Had to buy a whole new tent in the middle of a camping vacation last year during a very rainy, buggy week. The broken zipper tent, a very good Eddie Bauer one, is a terrific, except that the front and side zippered entrances do not zipper. Have read your marketing and feedback from consumers. Ordering now and will be back to let you know if it really works as well as you say! Hoping it does.
I bought a used 10 person cabin tent, that is in great shape, other than the entryway zipper is missing. I ordered the medium Fixnzip from Amazon, hoping it would work. I tried several times, but it wouldn't work. I even used pliers to tighten the screw more, but it was still a no-go. Very disappointed, but I should've known it wouldn't be that easy.
I bought one for my Coleman 8 person tent. The front entry zipper busted off, every other window and liner on the tent (there are about 6-8) has two zippers but for some reason the main entry only has one. I bought the fix-n-zip last week and it seems to work just fine.
This looked like a great idea - needed to repair my awning entrance zipper so I ordered a couple. Unfortunately even after a couple of hours of trying I could not get it to work - either the coils separate or they do not knit together if I tighten down. It could be I have the wrong size - I have a 7mm zipper so ordered the medium.
Me too. 2 hours with my wife’s help, still cannot get nylon teeth to hold together in our close ended camper trailer zipper. Very frustrating. I tried over and over with a “small”, which looks like the correct size. I also bought a medium and tried it but it’s definitely too loose to close teeth. Disappointed after driving a good distance to pick these up only to have epic fail.
Just tryed one pretty sure the size is right, didn't work but then tightened extra hard with plyers I could still move the zipper and it worked I zipper is 7 mm and got the medium
I think (and I stress think) it would be a size medium. If you want to send us a contact form on our website, we can respond and get a picture of the exact zipper and let you know for sure. www.fixnzip.com/contact/
In this demonstration, what is broke with the tent zipper to being with? My zipper is getting stuck towards the top end of the zipper. I don’t think changing the zipper contraption would fix anything, would it?
Hi Kevin Niton and Tent Spares are both our UK suppliers. Here are their website: www.niton999.co.uk/clothing-accessories/clothing-repair/fixnzip.html www.tentspares.co.uk/brands/FixNZip.html
@@FixnZipjust looked on the website, however none of the zips are the double sided zip that is shown in the video! Again where can I by the zip shown in the UA-cam video.
@@kevindunford The images make it hard to see, but each fixnzip comes with a slot drilled on the top and one on the bottom so that two pulls can be attached simultaneously. Every FixnZip is made this way. Each Pack comes with both a key ring pull and a string/clip pull. On our website we sell an accessory pack if you want additional pulls. I'm more than happy to send pictures or any other info if you want to reach out using the message form here: www.fixnzip.com/contact/
Also the default image on the niton page is the 'small' but if you change it to medium, it shows the cord/plastic clip pull. On Tent spares it shows the other pulls in the additional images. But neither of them show two pulls at once unfortunately. But all of those do have two slots for two pulls.
@@FixnZip thanks for the reply. Just ordered a large zip from www.tentspares.co.uk I will comment on product when I get home from holiday and fingers crossed fix my family tent.
It was the first video we made a decade ago, and we didn't really know what we were doing. If you check out our video title "how to fix zippers that separate or come undone" you can see it being used with the pull around the 1.55 mark.
This thing does NOT work. I bought one and spent 2 hours trying to fix a zipper. The demos are all on loose zippers that aren't connected to anything. It doesn't work on bags or anything really tight.
Tried these on my Coleman tent for well over an hour, then a suitcase. In neither case would they engage the zipper properly. I’m back to my safety pin solution on the tent and still can’t use the small compartment on my suitcase. A waste of time for this camper!
Hi Marie, I'm sorry it didn't work. If you want to reach out to us on our contact page, we can help troubleshoot or process a return so you can get a full refund. www.fixnzip.com/contact/
Wow, reading these comments I'm stupefied. I bought a single medium for $16 while I waited for the $23 3 pack from Amazon to arrive. But the medium & the large did absolutely nothing. Does not zip. The coils or whatever they are called don't go together. It's on a screen tent. Velcro here I come.
Your instruction on how to use your product gave me the insight i needed to fix my own zipper. So i thank you for that.
You just saved our camping trip this year! Found your product on Amazon with you in the video

How is the original zipper removed on a closed zip?
Hi Brian,
If you check out our other videos, we have one for that.
Where can I buy this zip from? I live in the UK. Can't see anything on Amazon that matches the design, so it can be used on a tent.

Why didn't you use the zip pull? You held the zip slider together which suggests it wouldn't work if you used the zip pull.
