I find that the "goblinoid notched ears" better resemble the WFRP skaven. It makes them look more fierce, less cuddly! If you're doing more Warhammer Fantasy, I'd like to see various examples of the different knightly orders, wizards types, beastmen, and chaos dwarves, to give me ideas for my own designs.
Yknow you're actually right, I shoulda caught on to that thing with the ears. I agree with you now after looking at it ALSO - we'll see, I may get to some things like that in the future
*in Chills voice* Top 10 Races for Derf to make in Heroforge Number 9 is a rat, I wanted to play a ratman for my next DnD campaign but I could not make a ratman. And so I looked to Fred AKA Derf for help by relentlessly sending pictures of rats until his will was broken
Dope, as usual. Also well timed. Was listing to the Drizzt audio book "The Halflings Gem" and they fight like a whole guild of wererats in a sewer. So yeah.👍
@@Derfholm well i'm one of those that doesn't print the mini's i just like making stuff but i feel like a lesser creator cause of all the stuff pro offers that i can't afford due to the choice being xbox live or a yearly subscription to pro with my job i can't afford both unfortunately
@@shawmiserix404 For what it's worth, I think the benefits given by Pro are quite overrated right now. Back when double-model was pro only, it was rough, but right now I think you can get by as is. Case and point would be Gettar82, the winner of 2 of my most recent contests who won both times without having Pro at all, he makes some incredible stuff
I sorta kinda do that in my dissection videos, though in those cases it's very specifically contest-winning models. I'll consider just a straight model review video though, for sure!
YESS FINALLY WE GET RATS! Rats are the most perfect being other than dogs (obviously) RATS RATS WE'RE THE RATS! Seriously though great video Derf and this is useful for making my rat king models, rat king is a villain in my DND campaign and I made it just because most of the party hate rats lol
Yes-yes, evil rat-at. Sorry for the delay to see the video, crazy life. I loved the video as always, but I wanted to ask about putting scars on the fuor, it always seems a bit strange, apart from the fact that most of the time the fur grows over the mane, it gives a nice aesthetic but I don't know if it looks too much... " logical". The rats with the cross-bow were sensational. They all resemble the Skevens from Warhemmer AoS, especially the one with the halbard that resembles the stormclaws. I still ask for a video making some kind of leonine, or at least a tabaxi/cat-man style, it's hard to make them interesting or even minimally decent
I also missed out huge by not making a gigantic rat-ogre with flamethrowers and a little rat riding it on top. Suffice to say, there's a LOT of cool rat concepts you can do, but I needed to limit myself somewhat for practical reasons sadly
Sneaky Snitch for the first rat Shadow Colossus from RS3 for the warrior rats Can't remember the third one actually, but I assume it's the 2nd one you want
I want to print an overlapped mini, but when I tried to purchase the .stl file an odd prompt came up asking to separate the base or the mini.. do you know what to select to keep it intact?
I haven't actually printed a double-stacked mini myself so I can't say for certain, but there is a guy in the DIscord called 'Scourch', a Moderator, who has. He might be able to help you out!
@@Derfholm I can sort of see that. I was shown (by you) how to double models. I showed a friend a mode & pulled the 2 a part and he freaked out because it looked like magic to him.
Let me know what monster-types I should try next!
FROG FOLK!!!!!!
id love to see some minotaurs getting made! im making my own minotaurian kingdom right now so id love to see your take on them!

Amphibians or Primates!
Monkeyfolk or apefolk, as well as catfolk like tabaxi and leonin
The warlock was great, but the fatty rat holding the balista won the cake XD

THE GREY SEER PASSES YOU THE BOOF
DO-DO YOU ACCEPT-RECEIVE?
Our "DnD" group was nearly killed by an infestation of ratfolk not too long ago.
Thanks for the PTSD.
I love these, they're amazing. Though I'm a tad disappointed you didn't make a chef rat and name him remi, its a missed opportunity
Damn you got me good

kitbashing being pro only urks me in ways i never thought possible
Yeah, I completely get that, but it's hard to blame them considering nothing kitbashed will ever even be printable

Going to stat block the Juggernaut Rat and Super Crossbow Rats for my game.
hahah have fun
these models were so good! May I suggest creating elves/dark elves as you next character designing video?
It's on the list, for sure!

Would you ever consider doing some reviews of viewer submitted miniatures?

I made a badass fennecfolk Arabian assassin!

So, while on the topic of ratfolk, how would you go about making a Vermling from Gloomhaven?

Tbh if you look at double modelling from a beginner's perspective it's mindboggling how overcomplicated and convoluted it seems, I don't blame them
