3:34 most iconic Canadian scene ever filmed. Don Cherry in a fight with the Trailer Park Boys with The Tragically Hip playing in the background. There's no possible way anything could be more Canadian. Long Live Gord
I got into the Hip after watching Trailer Park Boys. I got into Trailer Park Boys after following a link from Hockey fights. I got into Hockey fights from a link on a Curling vid. I clicked on the Curling vid because I was drunk. I must have Canadian blood....
Sam Russell and that is a special blood type.Canadian all the way.Newfoundlander to be honest.Even more special.Should try it because you will like it.
I agree if you were down with Trailer Park Boys, Hockey Night in Canada and One of the greatest bands of all time The Tragically Hip! It's warm and it's safe here.
Sad day for Canada. My favorite band. RIP Gord. Bruce Lee once said, the key to immortality is living a life worth remembering. And Gord Downey certainly did. He may be gone, but not forgotten. The Hip will always be alive and well.
Carharrt jackets, stubbies, juicy fruit, fried chicken, 1$ and 2$ bills....doesn't get more nostalgic Canadiana than this boys....topped off with a tilly involving Don Cherry who takes Julian's joint from him! Always loved this video!
Even works for a Detroiter down in Fla. So many memories in the things said in all Hip music but this part does bring back certain nights specifically. Chicken for a motor? O K ! Heard worse deals B 4
If there's a music video that's deserving of a full HD re-release, it's this. This is one of the most iconic Canadian moments ever recorded in history. Long live Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip!
I love Gord to death but this band would have never happened without the entire team that contributes and contributed to it; I've seen you guys six times over the decades and loved it every time, so shout out to the whole team known as The Tragically Hip
Can't watch the bit with Gord toasting at the camera as it pans over without choking up...Someday when Don Cherry passes I'm gonna watch this video again and really cry. It's weird how it's a goofy video but also kind of sombre.
I miss you old Canada ... she died around 2013 but that's just my opinion. My Canada is the land of mountains, grain elevators, railroads, long drives, small towns, kitchen parties and lighthouses.. I know this opinion is sadly controversial these days.. I was born in the late years of those days, but still.. that ia the Canada I know and will forever love. Something's been lost with time, we live in fucked up times.... the internet is both a blessing and a curse, but thanks to it we have these things preserved for (at least) an indefinite amount of time.
Greetings from Ireland. Love TPBs they were only here unfortunately had to missed them. Got into The Hip through the boys. Great song, top marks to both Gord's in the video.
I absolutely love seeing Gord Downie trying to cover his laughter near the end when they are driving down the highway and Ricky is yelling out the window.
This song is truly underrated, and the fact that the best Canadian TV show was featured in it makes it even better. Rest in Peace, Gord'. You're missed.
The Hip have been great since Boots or Hearts and have never made a bad album. They are icons and will be long remembered in musical history. They are a band for the ages.
Boots or Hearts? HAH! Since Small Town Bringdown! Their first album as overlooked as it was, had them off to a great start, and they kept the momentum going the whole time until Gord's passing. Their first album had this raw, garage band sound to some of the tracks, especially "Im a warewolf baby". They are one of the few bands that never phoned it in I can tell ya that much.
Wow. Went to the dentist today and they turned on the Ceiling TV and put the headphones on me The first channel I switched to was stingray music and this Masterpiece was playing Couldn’t of been a better Dentist appointment. The Boys sure lifted My nervous spirit and the song distracted me perfectly :)
@@AnnaLVajda I'm well aware of where he's from. But the TPB's are from the east coast, and I think Gord would have loved to call Scotia his home away from home.
Don Cherry delivering the chicken. This video is so good. Ricky "Two buckets and a drive to the liquor store" Gord "DEAL!" Have anyone ever made a better deal?
Always loved this song!! This entire album was probably the most overlooked Hip album; Gord & the boys had built up a solid catalogue of albums already, their stage presence had already been set - hard to crack the lineup after Day for Night, Trouble at The Henhouse, Road Apples, Up to Here and Fully Completely.....still a great album!!
I got into their music watching trailer park boys, I thought that it might be nice to have the lyrics to sing along with the song. This song always puts a smile on my face. I miss Don Cherry used to watch him all the time when I lived in Detroit Michigan, on Hockey Night in Canada. R.I.P. Gordo. For everybody else have a great day.
