What makes this a unique and rare recording, is that you have two NYC -Based jamming together live at the now defunct Corso night club. Both artists are departed but their music lives on.
googlelou THANK you for this amazing song, sharing such a treasure as this. I love the version of Fruko y sus Tesos "and/or" Joe Arroyo. If I could get a genii's 3 wishes, one of them would of course be a wish that everything I wish comes true..... to experience the days and nights of the Corso, Cheetah, /Fania's street party gig....... going to all those gigs and concerts on a list all its own :) How I discovered much of this style of salsa began with the fact that groups in Colombia such as Diego Gale (Quinto Mayor), Fruko y sus Tesos, and Joe Arroyo often paid homage (homenajes?) to the deities of salsa....... when I heard this done by Fruko, so began a hopeless but wonderful addiction :) Like I needed another one :) thanks again, this is phenomenal. I, despite my Sicilian/Swedish heritage, would give anything to play claves and bells in a salsa band :)
@@oneworld9071 I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I purchased the album from WBAI FM (WBAI.ORG). I Had the pleasure and good fortune to have partied at the Corso in NYC and seeing both Bobby Rodriguez y La Compania and Hector Lavoe. Sorry for taking so long for responding to your comments.
@@oneworld9071 You don't have to be Latino to love latin. What I consider of the greatest latin music trombone players, Barry Rodgers (played with Eddie Palmieri) was not a Latino. All ot takes is a love for the music. I love the Italian singer Bocelli.
Escuchar a Héctor y Bobby es un verdadero agasajo musical, afortunado para quien estuvo en vivo
