Prime Fedor beat Semmy in MMA by using his sambo, taking Semmy down and pounding on him. Semmy was tough, but he didn't have the experience or skill on the ground against Fedor.

In my mind, he was always the one and only criminal in K1, with his horrible attitude and sportsmanship. All the other fighters were respectful.

He could have been truly legendary if he hadn't been so careful in the ring. During his training he was a beast that impressed everyone. That beastly thing didn't come out in the ring. That's a shame, but he belongs to the greatest of all. The Dutch were dominant in K1 but also in other martial arts. There is something in the water there (and they have lot,s of water) And on top of that, the Dutch are mentally extreemly strong. Unfortunately, the Dutch left-wing government has greatly hindered the martial arts to the point that it no longer produces champions. And that's a bad thing because there is still a lot of talent ready to kick ass.
Getting kicked by this giant would be like getting hit by a Volkswagen during a hurricane.

Being Tall only matter when you know how to use and Have skills, Look at Struve or Takayama, Bob Sapp are Big and doesn't have 3% of the carrer of Semmy.

Semmy was long down the list of those i liked to watch most to see win, but still miles over badr hari, who i never really cared for. Was as annoying to watch as Bob Sapp.

As good as Semmy was, he's only an inch or two taller than Tyson Fury, and that just shows how good Tyson Fury is for his size becuase he moves and boxes on a completely different level to Semmy Schilt, in fact most top end boxer do and the K1 is nothing more than a freak show.

Miss it like crazy ... There is nothing out there that comes close. The prize money, the top fighters. It was dominated by the Dutch fighters (17 of the 19 GP's won by Dutch fighters if I remember correctly) and I think the Japanese hosts became fat up with that.

It was never an even fight with Schilt. . He had at least equal skill and a massive height, weight and reach advantage. No other fighter of his size had a skillset even close to Schilt. And I’m not even a fan of Schilt. I think his fights were boring, as he was so much superior than any of his opponents.
