What a great build. I have gained a lot of knowledge from watching you work. I would like to trade a little of mine, even though this build is probably well behind you by now. You can place a baffle straight across your drains, or even inset them inside the first inch or two. This will knock out the water swirl when draining and they will drain even quicker.
As with any light or electric motor- you can wire in a dimmer switch to that pump, turn it down to match your outlets' capacity. If you want to also incorporate an air exhaust- just make sure there is a moisture drain on the vent, a tube running below the table- even back to the reservoir if you want. (I know this was 4 years ago- I don't know what you did or have now, this is just me giving a suggestion to a nice man named Keith Fenner)
Yes the water helps immensely on the smoke, but even water tray systems that flood the water to the underside of the raw materials, still can't catch all the smoke, a small amount of hydrocarbons escapes back though the kerf width behind the cut due to back pressures and bubbles returning to the surface. My theory is to combine a water tray and down draft suction, to reach an ultimate control of the hydrocarbons. My efforts are driven by my beliel that it is totally possible... Keith
if you are using 1" pipe and you want a faster flow! use a 1½" ball valve and 2 reducer bushings and you will end up with a 1" flow with no restrictions!
Here's the recipe for home-made PlasmaQuench 1/4 pound of sodium nitrite powder ($15/pound) 1 teaspoon of Physan 20 ($8/8oz bottle) 1 oz Ultramarine blue food-grade dye ($5/oz.) Mix well, treats 75 gallons of water. Grandpa Bill

Cool! Thanks for the comment and the tip, I may tack a couple pieces in and give that a try the next time I drain and clean it.
Great machine! Good luck, keep tweaking it. Jack Thumbs up
Thanks, Jack, got the water flows under control now, just some more testing on the height of the water in the tray...
Thanks, Grandpa Bill, going to give it a try, I notice steels really spoil water fast and aluminum almost cleans or rejuvenates…

Ya, thats Shadow, my Cat / pest control, shes all good in the shop, but squeeze the air nozzle and she is outa there...
Yes, great comment, same thing when working hydraulic returns and pressure quick connects. ;{)-----
