@billdlv Thank you, I just know that in the auto hieght control for the plasma cam, after you make any changes to your cutting heigth, you set the auto arc voltage sensing, on next cut and it makes the corrections to suit your latest settings... Keith
Well, you have a stop mode in two other settings, if it contacts the metal and if it dosen't get a torch on signal, so joking the holding of the torch with more gizmos makes it that much more a pain to grab it off the carriage and check or replace consumables, on a whim... What I'm proving to myself is that the more experienced I get, the less needs for all the failsafes but is nice to have for the times you get caught off gaurd...
The scuttle butt is that the magnets plays havoc with the signal and collect everything magnetically drawn in, even what’s floating in the air. ;{)-----
The PlasmaCam, has auto torch touch sensing also, but sometimes the force can knock the torch loose, without it sensing, because of the freak collision and the arc stop switch insures that the arc stops and doesn't damage the rest or part of your project. ;{)-----
@gassolean I wish Luc all the best and tell him that I have never second guessed my career... Workmanship exspectations are built from within... Thanks for the Kudo's, Keith
Hi Vern, Well my two videos, this one and the Pop - a - Way saves the day, says it all! I am in the process of creating pop-a-way holders for the three most popular Hypertherm torches on the market. They will be available in a couple months. ;{)-----
Keith that's a great mod. The fastcut has a limit switch plus the z actuator is coupled with a spring to the holder for the torch. I can see pluses and negatives with the plasma cam you've got and the fast cut in our shop. I'll try your tip on the arc voltage. Not quite sure if it will work. I wish our system had a control panel separate from the computer like the plasma cam. Thnx.
The switch is set up as a normally open, and when the torch is in place it connects the signal to create a signal arc OK. Wired in line with the controller connection. ;{)-----

No, I was just putting out as much info, for someone to be able to copy it or make something simular, to apply, mods for there own torch holder...

nice setup! A copple of permanent magnets would also have done the trick, With a steel holder.
Would like to build a Pop-a-Way. Any help would be great. I have to get'er done so I can cut part for down draft.

like it.
are you selling these?
cool
Very clever

Got Gotorch and Powermax 45. My table build here. enichesoftwareDotcom/plasma/index.htm. Want to build break-a-Way Hand Torch mounting.
