Glad you like the vids. You can use Bondaseal as a single coat for lighter rods, but the epoxy gives a better all round finish. The Bondaseal has a very short pot life as well and can dry very quickly. Some builders use it to seal the threads as a first coat.
Very good informative vid ..do you sand your blank down to bare carbon .. where do you buy the plastic inserts for bonda seal lid if you don’t mind me asking .. keep up the good work 👍🏻
@@haydenwhiteford7421 Check out our store on the website at www.pierpointrodbuilding.co.uk we have some rod building kit to get you started. As a new rod builder here, what is the purpose of the bondaseal? Is it a finish for a bare blank when refurbishing and sanded blanks or is there another reason? Thanks for the clear tutorial!! Richaed from Kansas;)
Hi, thanks for the info, thinking of coating some lures with the bondaseal to stop hook rash. Any problems you could see with this? And could you let me know where to get the air tight lids from. Many thanks.
Hi Graham, some hobbyist lure makers use bonda and it is quick drying. I got the tins and lids from e-bay but the company I used went bust. Just type in self seal lids I think.
@@pierpoint-customrodbuildin6799 I’ve sussed it now ha wasn’t putting enough on my brush . It was drying as I was brushing of you know what I mean . I give the brush a good dunking now and it goes on nice , any high spots I’ve been polishing them out . Good stuff that bondaseal 👍🏻
Hi, where can i buy the plastic insert caps from ? Great videos, Thanks
Nice video..after sanding with still a few light scratches does the bonda seal cover them?
Fantastic youtube channel, Very informative. Could I ask you where you get the plastic insert lids if you dont mind.
Hello.
I would like to know if it is possible to apply Bonda Seal on a painted blanck, to seal the paint. Regards.
Nice vídeo by the way...👌💪
Can this stuff also be used for doing the whipping instead of epoxy?
Buy the way..thanks for the easy to follow tutorials👍

Hi Tim yes I take as far back as I can, but being careful not to disturb the carbon fibres. I will PM you about the plastic caps.
Great video, thank you.
Hi Hayden glad you liked the video.
Out of interest have you ever painted a zziplex blank? I'm finding it very hard to find any information on it.
@@haydenwhiteford7421 Yes, you take the clear Bondaseal and add a black pigment to it. Or you can use a K2 spray pack, but that is expensive.
@@pierpoint-customrodbuildin6799 brilliant thank cant wait to get building

The Bondaseal coat is usually applied after the rub down. It provides a nice hard wearing clear coat in preparation of the guide foot wraps.
@@pierpoint-customrodbuildin6799 gotcha, makes perfect sense! Thank you for the quick reply😁
