Whew! Taku netting those fish was nerve racking for me, I can't imagine how hard it was for you. At least you didn't lose the salmon when you flipped. Can't wait to see you filet it.
Going into the drink once in awhile keeps us on our toes to always review safety practices regularly & keeps our information and procedures fresh in a mind to avoid panic. Keep up the great videos.
That was soooooo nice! Right after “3minutes later” how you slowed down, got the bite, then pedaled like crazy to bury the hook..... amazing Taku! So dope
That sucks that you lost the camera. On a brighter note I personally really enjoy the angle of the video. Gives a better view of what you are doing and the fish approaching. Keep up the good videos. :)
Don’t worry about repeated salmon videos, Taku. Other UA-camrs are out there catching the same thing - bass, carp, catfish - over and over again. You spice things up by cooking different things. It’s always great to watch!
I am glad you are safe and unhurt. Equipment can be replaced, you can't. You have nothing to apologize for. (Also a lesson to all, always wear your flotation vest.)
Sorry to hear about your GoPro! I’ve lost one before too when practicing self rescue so that’s why I leash everything. Grats on hooking up the ghost and chrome! You’re on 🔥
Tough break bud! Glad you're alright and can keep providing great content. I know your pain of losing media. I was fortunate enough to find my phone last year in the river two weeks after flipping my kayak. Phone was toast but the sd card was just fine! The two weeks in between finding it really made me realize how important those memories are.
wasn't as epic as i thought ! title made it sound like he got flipped out at sea . he got flipped at shore ha . still sucks though , he lost a gopro :( . it was nature's way of asking for payment for the seabass and king salmon , HA !
Taku, I'm living vicariously through your kayak fishing videos! Salmon might be the best fish off a yak! Sorry you lost your camera! A friend of mine took me out kayak fishing. It was my very first time out. I flipped the yak and I was unable to get back in! I took a bag filled with my gear. I ended up losing it m I don't know how you all do it? IMHO, fishing off a yak isn't easy! Im lucky that I was wearing a life jacket, otherwise I may not have out alive! I have since watched videos on how to get back into a yak. I'm ready to give it another go....
risked it for the biscuit! sorry about the flip but tbh i liked that it forced you to use this angle, i like it best. you can see everything happening at once. looking forward to pt 2!
Super nice video! I once flipped my Hobie Revolution 13 in very shallow surf! I broke three fishing rods and damaged some other equipment also! But... that’s all part of the fun and you have to take the good with the bad!🙏🏻😃
Awesome catch Taku , glad you didnt loose the salmon , too bad about the swim .went to the beach to collect some seaweed, i found four types ,trying to identify them,we have 1000 varieties here in Western Australia. Thanks for seaweed inspiration awesome channel , greetings from WA , Tree
So glad you are safe.. whewwww!!! Bet that was scary. Crazy, that you caught a ghost fish.. maybe that's why you lost that camera. He wants to keep his identity and location, a secret 😜
Awesome show as always! When netting the fish, put the net behind them then let them drift back into it. just how you netted the second fish. it wont scare them as bad and it will be easier to net.
Really enjoy your videos. I have watched videos from all your counterparts in the SF area (my first subscription being Fisherman's Life) and find that your's has the best balance of variety, tight editing with focus on the action, great cooking and you just have a warm engaging personality. Keep up what you are doing, I have no doubt you will reach 1MM subs soon!
Loving your videos Taku, and even if they seem "repetitive" they're still great to watch. I was wondering if you have a video just going over the various modifications and add ons that you have on your kayak. I think that would make great content for the aspiring kayak fishers out there, including myself! peace ✌️
BTW I marinated a half an Alaskan salmon filet today with soy sauce, sesame seeds, sesame oil, Japanese mustard, and Texas honey! I grilled and glazed it on charcoal and with mesquite wood. Out of everything I cooked the salmon was the only one that did not survive haha! Ty for the idea!
Awesome catch! Still good footage, man super hard angle to land fish on the kayak but you still did it! Gotta start rigging some lanyard clips for everything now! Camera and all! Looking forward to the next salmon dish! 🤙Aloha
I always enjoy your videos and this was no exception. Congratulations on catching a beautiful King Salmon. As a suggestion try a different rod to make netting salmon easier. Your rod is very flexible from the tip right down to the butt. That makes it very difficult to position the fish for netting because your rod is bent in a "U" and the fish is still behind you. A rod with a flexible tip and a heavy butt section will allow you move the fish in front of you and lift it up to the surface for netting.
Love your vids man! One of these days you should do some travel tips, like how you travel with all your gear and the best way to fly with fishing etc. keep it up!
Just gotta rig some camera bait on your rod like batteries and memory cards, i'm sure that camera will bit on that and you'll be back to filming with it in no time 😎👌
Sorry to see the loss of your camera. Since you were in the shallows, try going back to the spot at low tide. Lots of lost dive gear is recovered at typically rough beaches using this effort...when making a beach exit, try tightening your abs as much as possible and paddle paddle paddle. Pro surf kayakers taught me this at Steamers Lane, Santa Cruz. (It's just north of the warf & just south of the lighthouse) looking forward to the cooking addition of this adventure.
Yo Taku It’s been so cool watching your channel grow. I’ve been following you since 2018 the things you post are so informative and awesome. It seem to me your channel is about to take offf even more. I hope you get to do this full time eventually I’d love to be able to watch your upcoming videos hopefully weekly or more. I’m gonna buy some “outdoor chef life” shirts to when I’m in a better financial position. Anyways keep up the content and recipes homie!
great video! i feel like i should point out, if you're planning to release a fish grabbing it by the gills/gill plate can be harmful to it and can cause infections as the gills are very sensitive :( on the east coast, any striper we dont keep we make sure not to grab by the gill plate and always make sure to revive the fish and make sure it swims off strong after a fight as they can tire them out
The best videos you make are the ones you catch fish and do sushi with your lady. Not a big fan of the seaweed videos but yet still full of information
especially with a wider boat like an outback you should try coming in backwards.. the surf will push you to the beach, and you can reverse course and punch forward into the waves.. A lot harder to flip when you face the waves
Maybe if your rod was a little stiffer you could get the fish more in "netting range". I enjoy and share your "elation" whenever you finally land a good fish. It seems Adam had a fun filled beaching recently.
Whales possibly creating bubbles in a circle to trap herring to allow another member of the pod to attack the "trapped" herring and the salmon are also there gorging. Just my thoughts.. Awesome video man, good job! Been watching your channel since January.
Never apologize for kayak fishing, this is what I’m here for.
give this man his netflix show already
that would be cool, but youtube is prob better cuz it's free
As long as they change this man and his passion I’m down!
Very good
I’d actually be so stoked if they did
I'd watch it.
In my opinion I love the salmon ones and haven't once thought "cmon salmon again?" Keep doing you
Alright cool because there's gonna be at least one more this season😂
Psh. Salmon is delicious. Forget comments lol.
@@OutdoorChefLife what kayak are you using?
Same
I have fished Northern California my whole life and never caught a ghost. Yours was short but that’s still special.
He is special indeed I really enjoy his video
Now, I really want to target them up here. Might be wasting a lot of time but you never know!
Whew! Taku netting those fish was nerve racking for me, I can't imagine how hard it was for you.

Now the fish is gonna film you whenever you go out fishing.
Fish have cameras
Fish are government spies
it's instantly an awesome day when I see a new video from Outdoor Chef Life
My husband and I been binge watching all your videos. we love them all. Glad you are alright!!!
Awe. But you're safe thank goodness! The world needs you! Jocelyn needs you most!
No worries... Salmon fishing, eating never gets old my friend.
That was soooooo nice! Right after “3minutes later” how you slowed down, got the bite, then pedaled like crazy to bury the hook..... amazing Taku! So dope
Your salmon videos, or any of your videos, NEVER get old!! Please keep them coming.
What you do is the same, what you catch isn’t the same.. keep up the good work man. Love your videos.
Man, you must have abs of steel. I'm getting exhausted from just watching you pedal and fish!
It’s interesting video to watch
That sucks that you lost the camera. On a brighter note I personally really enjoy the angle of the video. Gives a better view of what you are doing and the fish approaching. Keep up the good videos. :)
Love your channel and both wife and I are fond of both you and Jocelyn!
I love the kayak episodes, don't apologize man this content is awesome

Always look forward to your vids bro. Kayaking, camping, diving, foraging, fishing or cooking they're all good 👍🏼

Sorry about your wipe out bro, glad your ok. Love your show. I am a Coast Guard Veteran and I miss the ocean.
Sorry to hear about your GoPro! I’ve lost one before too when practicing self rescue so that’s why I leash everything. Grats on hooking up the ghost and chrome! You’re on 🔥
It's so exciting to go out with you! I was on the edge waiting to see if you would net that white sea bass! Never get tired of these!
Thank goodness that you are okay, so you can produce more videos for all of us.
Never, ever apologize for salmon fishing videos. Its some of your best videos. 🤙
Keep the salmon videos coming! Definitely does not feel repetitive at all.
Great video and nice fish! Sorry about the camera brotha. Glad you are safe. 🎣
What an action packed episode, a lil bit of everything 🛶🎣🌊
Always looking forward to new videos from you, none of your content ever feels repetitive. Keep them coming. 👍

Ahh... the dreaded kayak baptism! It happens to us all. Cool bycatch, had no idea they got that far up the coast!!
I haven’t watched this through yet... but I already know this is gonna be epic

Watching your videos makes me want to move to Cali just to fish and forage on the beach 😂😂. One dayyyy lbs!
Glad you’re okay, other stuff can be replaced. Good content, it was exciting to watch!
Awesome catch! 👻 🎣 I have caught 3 WSB from the surf and my PB is 23-1/2”! Congrats Taku
Handled that wave like a champ sorry about your camera buddy 🤙🏽
My heart was beating hard watching that wave come up behind you, but I'm glad you're ok! Can't wait to see what you make out of that gorgeous salmon.
Just glad you’re safe Taku😊
glad to hear you're alright.
This is the most chaotic title i have ever seen from Outdoor Chef Life and i am ready for it
"Thank God i got a bigass head" quality content
Awe wow, luckily you look alright but nothing can fix your recording and humility for that moment but acceptance.

RIP Camera, glad that you're okay Taku
The moment when you got flipped OMG that's very scary!
The best videos you make are the ones you catch fish and do sushi with your lady. Not a big fan of the seaweed videos but yet still full of information
I enjoy your videos, even though we don't get any salmon on the gulf coast, lol..I did catch a king in Port Alberni BC years ago though!
Sorry about the camera dude. Good video nonetheless, congrats on the white sea bass and looking forward to the salmon prep!
Feel sorry your camera and lost footages. Waiting for next episode.
Good job. Epic save with that net flip. Although you are reaching too much with the net. Get them closer. Shorten your leader if you need to
As long as your ok it's all good
they're stunning the fish
Glad you are OK
They are feeding, stunning the fish
Oh yea Baby....!!!!!.... Glad your okay man
Landing those fish is so stressful !😂 Great vid even with the lost footage!
My grandma goes fishing in the bay, and went home with a 32 pounder and a 25 pounder. The salmon are crazy this year!
especially with a wider boat like an outback you should try coming in backwards.. the surf will push you to the beach, and you can reverse course and punch forward into the waves.. A lot harder to flip when you face the waves
Just be thankful you flipped on waist-high water. Glad you're safe.

btw Taku, that was gnarly.. glad you are safe!
Nothing repeative about it ur videos are great
Personal LOVE the salmon videos
I feel ya 100% Taku! I flipped a kayak in Bodega Bay and lost a GoPro back in January 😭
I almost died when the king jumped out of the net, been there, done that. Nice recovery bro.
Dude I got water in my ear watching that wipe out!
Nice catch. May need a bigger net for the next bigger salmon or white sea bass.
Anxiety on the netting 😂
but you did better than me hahaha
