  • Weight gain can often be one of the scariest parts of recovering from an eating disorder. The overall goal of recovery should be to reach a state of health and happiness, both physically and mentally. Weight restoration can be painful and emotional, but once you have done it you have to accept your body at a healthy weight and learn to know how your 'new' body is supposed to be.

Also the weight goes to your vital organs at first, repairing your heart muscle, feeding brain cells, the liver, kidneys are all repaired at the start of weight gain before it even shows on the body. It doesn't go on your body evenly at first but it redistributes itself over time ❤️

Thank you for this video, it kinda helped me a bit. Your comment that "the weight goes where it's supposed to go" was amazing. It made me realize that it's okay to have a shape as you said and that I do need the weight in certain places because humans are supposed to have weight there.
    Thank you 💙
And I'm so proud of you and your strength that you've had throughout your recovery process, you help with each and every video you post :) I hope all is well!

Moving through different stages of recovery is scary, and gaining weight is definitely one of those stages! But the weight does go where it needs to go; it goes where it is supposed to be. Sending you love & encouragement xxxx

I wouldn't tell my friends until I was sure about their attitude towards anorexia, bulimia, BED and OSFED/EDNOS. What if one of them has an ED? Of course you know them, right?

I'm in a shockingly similar situation as I've just moved abroad in a house to share with fellow students to pursue my Bachelor's degree. I'm also in the middle of recovery where I intrinsically want to be healthy but am still hesitant to comply with the requirements of healthy eating behaviour. Especially during the past two weeks since moving these thoughts have occurred more frequently so your video came in handy to reassure me that it happens as a reminder of health to be happy about. Thank you. :) I wish you the energy and help you need to stay in and eventually overcome recovery.

Moving into a new house can be really challenging, and I find that my eating disorder mind set uses it as an excuse to resort back to behaviours. Recovery at this stage is difficult too because it feels like you are constantly arguing with yourself. But when those positive thoughts arise hold on to them and try to reinforce that positivity but writing it down or doing something you enjoy. Strengthen the positive thought patterns through practice and you will get there. Sending you lots of strength and encouragement to eat healthily & fight the negative thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing and for being so kind xx
