Finally ! The review that I was desperately waiting for as I own both the anniversary edition Goldtone H95 and the Gray Airpod Max like Emeka I just could not make up my mind so I decided to go for both and chalk it up to investment
Thank you Emeka and Reem, for a quite litteraly a superlative job you guys didn't just knock it out of the park you knocked it out of the stadium by a mile. I have never had the privilege to watch the most comprehensive accurate informative detailed yet grossly engaging review that literally covered every single possible aspect of two of my absolute favourite headphones. Thank you for taking the time to patiently explaining and sharing your personal experiences views and prespectives in an every day scenario while giving your genuine and unbiased opinion on each headphone form vs function all the way to sound quality and ANC in two products that are so evenly matched even to their respective supplementary applications specially the beosonic app for h95 and the fact that even the sound stage is adjustable by pinching up or down the circle in their equaliser menu which I initially struggled to understand for the longest time as this feature is only enabled on some B&O products that support it and not available on all B&O products that are using the same app for example the B&O wireless ear buds E8 series using the same app. does not support the sound stage adjustment As being B&O fan I have a number of products that are using this same app and could never understand the reason behind this. The extent of detail you and Reem covered in this segment while making this review particularity sharing your genuine honest opinion based on what you personal experience and how you arrived at your final conclusion has made this review far more engaging and interesting to watch and something that has never been attempted before in any other similar reviews.
This review quie simply has been Technical, accurate, comprehensive, educational, and fun is how I can best sum it up.
Please bring Reem back again in fact do more colab work together as you guys have done a bang up job in this segment so good in fact that I watched your review twice to make sure I have not missed anything.
Thank you for a great job well done please keep them coming.
    Subbed for sure. 🙂
    Respect ✊

Dear Anarkan, thank you soooo much for the comprehensive yet so kind comment. We appreciate even more as it is clear that you speak from experience given that you own the two headphones. I was almost tempted to keep both of them. But as a beginner reviewer, I should already learn to suppress such urges because it will pile up!
Also, let me say that you generous comment has earned a place on our “pinned comment”. And yes, Reem and I are coming back for more videos!
      Much love from Emeka.

I was choosing between two and almost bought APM after watching this video. After all, I'm happy with everything Apple in my house, why headphones should be different. But after testing AirPods Max sound quality, they didn't feel like an upgrade from my oldies QC35. Sound was dimmed, no stage presence, sound was muffled, overall very comparable to Sony XM4. I was surprised to the point I asked for second pair, unfortunately, it was exactly the same.
But B&O H95s are in different league entirely. Bass, control, clarity, stage, separation, literally everything is much better than in APM. When it comes to sound quality they're not comparable, not in the same league.
What surprised me most was the scale of the difference. It is not minor, you don't need to compare extensively to notice it. Impression I got was B&O had complete package and others lacked in different areas and you can only tell where after listening to music with B&O. You then realize "there should be this detail which is missing", "the punch here is not happening" or "vocals should be clearer and vibrato should be here ". You can only tell because B&O has it all and it is pretty addictive to have it all in one package. It almost feels like there are two categories: "B&O" and "everyone else".
I got to admit APM, Bose and Sony all have better noise cancellation, B&O is not bad but noticeably lagging.
I wanted to get APM but got B&O in the end.

That was my experience as well. Do you want to have the best sound quality? Yes? Then buy the Beoplay H95. Is fit the most important for you and want to have tons of practicability? Go with the Apple. However in this case have a look at the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 as well. You'll like it.

I've been using the AirPods Max for 1 year now and just ordered the B&O H95. For home use, I regularly run the Focal Clear MG Pro, Drop x THX Panda, Audeze LCD-2 Classic. The AirPods Max sound relatively fine, but they're sibilant to my ears. I'm treble sensitive, but I can tolerate the AirPods Max. What I just can't get past is the tight clamp that never let up after a year of use/leaving it on a foam block to loosen up (I'm a tiny 4'9" woman with a small head so I'm shocked when larger people say that the AirPods Max are comfortable), and the headphones resetting themselves every few months along not being able to force a firmware update/the firmware updates not having release notes. Heard great things about the B&O H95, so hopefully it'll be worth it.

If the B&O would fix that ANC dial, add a sensor so that they would stop when taking them off and allow for the battery to be replaced easily this would be worth the money. Otherwise it is highly overpriced. There should be no room for error or mishap at this price range.
They also need to increase the surface of that play / pause tactile area.
I really like the fact that the wheel that adjusts the volume and the ANC is not on the outside (where it would have easily been accidentally operated) but in the middle surrounding the earcup.

How did you find the H95 compared to the APM? I have a pair of H95 on the way that I managed to get for $315USD after taxes so I'm pretty excited for them to show up and accompany me on some travelling. I got the APM for my fiancée and she loves them for PC gaming and with her apple devices. I use Android so I'm thinking the H95 would be better suited for me as I'm more about the sound than transparency or ANC.

    • @YourMajestyTheKing
      @YourMajestyTheKing Рік тому

@@bronsoncjmjyeah, the big reason of me returning the H95 is because Apple came up with the Airpod Max after i got the H95 and i know that the Airpod Max would be up there and CHEAPER. i do like the H95 sound better but Airpod Max does save a few hundred bucks. so if you can get the H95 cheaper, keep it.

i had both (returned the H95s). I love B&O and rooted for them to be better but they are not IMO. H95's transparency mode is ok, but not loud enough for me. LIke the host here said (she could not tell if it was on) this was the same for me. Same with NC. Makes no sense to have a dial for Transparency mode or NC IMO. on/off makes sense. Love the h95 dial on volume but Airpods Max have a dial to. Overall the Airpods Max are more comfortable (slightly) and sound more lively and have amazing features. We don't even get into the Apple expanded features like spatial audio, amazing siri integration, texts / call notifications. Truly seamless change between devices etc. Great, great product.

I also chose the APM over the H95s. Both sound great in their own ways, and in the end, I just chose the APMs for their immersive full sound, comfort (i have small head), awesome transparency mode, and slick/minimal look. The h95s had great clarity with vocals/string instruments (kind of like high treble settings), can fold smaller, and has power on/off button (not on APMs), but I found the overall sound to be less immersive for me. The h95s are great if the song choices are more towards vocals and certain higher pitched instruments (String instruments and cymbals) in my opinion

But at that time, i know that the Airpod Max would be able to punch above it's weight. So i returned the H95. The Airpod Max did not disappoint. It is almost as good as the H95. It has too much boost which hints at making the sound a bit more artificial. But for the price. I accepted it.

I have owned the AirPods Max & Bang & Olufsen H95. Noise Cancelling. AirPods Max wins! Sound Quality both sound great, but. H95 imo. Sounds a lot better especially plugged in, the H95’s are gorgeous and i believe they will hold their value better than AirPods Max. Given take that they’re celebrating 95 years in the sound industry.
I love my H95’s. They’re unreplacable. The more you listen to it. The better it sounds. I have done at least easily over a couple hundred hours of listening to music with different genres and they sound absolutely amazing.
I mainly plug them in via Aux. you hear a lot of detail in the songs. If you had heard the BeoLab 90’s. These are basically BeoLab 90’s on your ears! But if you don’t feel like spending $1950 AUD.
I would recommend the AirPods Max. But for sound, build quality and i guess long term investment. I’d 110% attend the h95’s.
I am extremely excited for the 100th anniversary of B&O and their future products.

The same as other bluetooth 5.1 - I´m afraid. You can use jackstick to get rid of any latency. You can play games with them without the jackstick, but it really depends on your platform, gametype and temper. PC fps games like CS requires jackstick, but for casual games (or consol ports) like fx Tomb Raider, Valheim, RocketLeague the bluetooth is fine.

Thanks black ice for the kind remark. The H95 is very good for hip hop especially because you want to hear the nuances in the bass region. Take for instance, Eminem’s often cacophonous instrumentals make more sense when you listen through the H95. And that goes for the Airpods Max by the way 🙂. As for Jamaican music, if you love your music thumping with bass, well…you won’t get that bang. But if you love your music smooth and groovy - like a laid back live performance - without sacrificing detail, then the H95 is definitely your guy!

The AP max also sometimes loose connection just randomly and come back to life as well as the right ear mechanism started making weird noice when I open them up... needless to say about the bad case which also didn't last long in it's condition. Hi Ole, yes indeed. You have a point about waiting for future iterations of the Airpods Max. However, given how sluggish Apple has become and somewhat complacent too, I am not so optimistic about them improving the battery life even by then.
Also thanks for the kind feedback on the video. I appreciate.

@@CarefulOptimist Not an apple user, some of my friends are. Had an IPhone before, when in Malaysia it needed Aircondition. So for me Apple always has been about beauty and design, not always quality. After all the stylish costumer has to buy a new phone, watch and other items on a yearly basis. So i am sure those AirPods have some sort of error after 2-3 years. Still not listening to your costumers is a problem and more or less every UA-camr complaints about the case. So if there is no new case, on/off switch or something 3rd - costumers will not buy the next generation next year.

You won’t like them when the buttons fail from moisture buildup in the ear cups. Hopefully you got AppleCare+ cause it’s only a matter of time. I should know I went through 3 pair with each of them having the transparency mode button going ape shit on and off constantly. Anyway, don’t believe just wait. They will fail sooner or later depending on use.

Both are lifestyle products - just slightly different consumer segments. Apple has a (much) larger and generally younger group, while B&0 tends to aim more at a more mature/downplayed segment being more exotic(expensive and uncommon) in nature... IMHO: Both headphones seems to be really good.

I understand that Apple likes to make things simple and not need the user to configure a gazillion settings to get a satisfactory experience but why, oh why, oh why does Apple not at least implement that same B&O concept of being able to select from a few carefully crafted (by Apple audio engineers) sound profiles to choose from? They have all that fancy DSP processing in the headphones to shape the sound so presumably different configurations could be downloaded to them to alter the sound profile. I can see why exposing a full parametric equaliser in settings would be at odds with Apple’s philosophy but Apple’s own music app on the iPhone already has a number of sound profiles that can be selected so they already do that elsewhere and the AirPods Max really deserve to get that capability. For me the only flaw in the AirPod Max sound is the lack of energy in the kick drum and bass guitar part of the frequency spectrum. If Apple could address that then the APM would pretty much be my perfect wireless headphones. Actually, add wireless charging and an appropriate charging stand to make them 100% perfect but with the metal earpieces I guess that adding wireless charging would take some serious redesign but it would be a nice feature if Apple ever did a next generation APM. A proper hard case with built in battery to recharge them when in the case (like a big AirPod sort of setup) would add even more to the goodness, probably as an optional accessory.

As a 65-year-old male, I would not be caught dead carrying around the AirPods Max in its girly looking “purse.” I did, however, try them on in the store, and they felt heavy on my head. • @thebluriam
      @thebluriam Рік тому +1

@@markpaulson1346 I LOVE them! But! The first week was scary. Let me explain.
When I first got them, expecting a profound transformation in my experience of listening to music, as if I've never listened to music before ever, (only) AT FIRST, I was depressingly underwhelmed and I questioned if it was just hype I bought into (at great expense).
Don't get me wrong, these headphones sounded fantastic, but it was the transcendental experience I was anticipating from all the reviews.
But something didn't seem right. I felt like I must be missing something in what it takes to get the sonic experience proclaimed by others for these headphones.
So... I went on a journey of settings and component comprehension. While it took me almost two weeks of doubt, trial, and error, the pieces finally came together, and the result I finally came to is fundamentally expansive and worth the whole effort.
The first night everything finally came together, after much frustration, I laid in my bed (with a soft pillow) with my room pitch black, H95s wired into my Fiio BTR5 DAC, and a few 24bit 96kHz albums loaded on Qobuz. Within the first 15 seconds I felt like I left my body within the soundscape; an experience I've never had and more than I could have expected.
There were soooooo many unknowable details about setup steps I had to cobble together from disparate online sources. In the end, it ends up making a lot of sense. Having gained what I've learned, I've since had the pleasure of knowing how to configure different levels of sonic quality with different types of inputs for the headphones, and I've learned how to appreciate a whole new resolution and range of fidelity in music. I've learned to appreciate styles and genres of music I've never been able to enjoy before when in the presence of very high res/quality examples and the H95s properly set up. There are entire swaths of music I have always disliked I suddenly find a way to get lost beautifully within, this is so massive when you think about it, at a human experience level.
Can I give all the credit to the B&O H95s? No, but the H95s are undeniably a perfect catalyst for anyone new to what is possible at the level of very very high quality sonic experiences.
The worst experience you are going to have with the H95s is for them to be connected to your phone via Bluetooth and listening to Spotify, UA-cam, or

Hi Mikyle, if you are looking for something for sports then your best bet out of these two will the the H95. For two reasons: It is lighter and feels more rugged. Guys that was one of the best reviews I have every seen on youtube. You both have absolutely different approaches towards the whole analysis (as far as one can get from another). :) This worked so well,... I mean - I would just compare it to "The north pole" discussing "The core of the Earth" with "The south pole". :D Wau, that was really something. I am going for my Apple Airpods Max tomorrow - simplicity is the reason. I have no doubts that H95 are "the top" on average, but AirPods seems to me more .... Yes. How can one descibe something, that cant be described - it is just a decision. Maybe its that "escape" from reality where AirPods will be more successful, than H95. Thank you both very much and wish you only the best. :)

... so guys, i had bought APM, but returned them... :( Honestly, their ability... or better to say "disability" to reproduce low Hz was so huge... Their sound is "shallow" for me. :( Sorry to say that, but I found that just after couple of minutes of hearing. :( I am used to heavy bass sound and even "loudness" and "more bass" in music settings didnt help it,... :( .... H95 are according to other reviews even worse in low Hz reproduction, so I will have to try something like Sony...
