    Personally I'd say Kemper for Studio DT25 for live. The Kemper amp models are closer (and you can get profiles now just just about any amp on the market) but it isn't terribly well suited to playing live. Also the DT25 has the real feel of a tube amp which is basically our only criticism of the Kemper which is even though it sounds gloriously tubey when you're playing it it somehow doesn't quite feel tubey. - Mark

    Actually there are 16 editable presets but you need to download the DT edit not a line 6 product. Its wonderful.

    It's a big video! The 1st part shows off just the DT25 as a regular amp, After about 15-20 mins, we show how it works with the Pod HD500, and then for the last 10-15 mins we show the DT25, Pod HD500 & Variax all plugged in together for our "Dream Rig". I think its one of the best video reviews we've ever done, so grab a beer, sit back & enjoy! Cheers from Lee

    @beewoy DT50 is the same - just a 50w version.

    @bograt747 only the flexibility to take the head to a gig and plug it into the venues 4x12 for instance. The sound from a big cab is awesome but the combo is pretty tidy too. We find people tend to either be 'head' people or 'combo' people. There's not much in it just personal preference

    Full details of how to WIN a LIne 6 DT25 have just been posted in the news section of the Andertons web site, and on our facebook page

    Awesome video, thank you for putting this up. I have an HD500 + JTV69 and was saving for a DT50, but this suits my needs even better. The demonstrations were extremely well done and left no stone unturned. Im sold, and will purchase one the second they become available! Rock on Andertons.

    Available on DT w5 and DT 50. The DT 50 has a few more options the DT 25 does not. The only benefit of the DT w5 is weight.

    @teezer123 I think it's more a bit of both cos the idea is that it will model the amp and run it through the right power stage settings.

  • @andertons
    @andertons  13 років тому

    @beewoy no problem

  • @andertons
    @andertons  13 років тому

    @beewoy its more about out and out volume really. With a mic infront of it (or better still DI out!) the DT25 could happily be used in a stadium anyway but like for like and with no extra help from the PA the 50 is just so much louder. It's really just down to you and which one you prefer. People tend to have a gut feeling about which they want and you can't do much worse than listening to your gut. Both amps can cover gritty tone at low volume so it's more about how much volume you want

    Guys it would be cool if you could get Richie Castellano from BOC who is a huge line 6 user and a amazing guitarist and sound engineer.

    why are you guys so excited about this? isn't it just a smaller version of something you've already seen? what's different about the 25 vs the 50?

    My goodness. I'll be buying one of these amps for sure. By the way, are the POD presets used in this video available for download anywhere?

  • @andertons
    @andertons  12 років тому

    @bograt747 No problem. Sounds like the DT25 Combo will suit you to the ground then!

    Thank you so much for that thoughtful response. (Love your vids btw) That's more or less the conclusion I came to. I couldn't find an isolation cab under $1000 USD that I felt showed the DT25 off in it's best light. I've more or less given up dragging gear around so it's all home studio for me. Anyway, I ordered a Kemper! Now it just has to get here. In the mean time I'm wondering about putting a HD500 in the mix to make up for the effects and synth stuff the Kemper doesn't do.

  • @andertons
    @andertons  13 років тому

    @beewoy without doubt yes. it would be perfect for pubs and things and as the gigs get bigger (hopefully!) there shoudl be a decent PA capable of taking your DI out anyway! Jobs a good 'un

    sold my dt50 2x12 after almost a year, this in general would be much better but still i'd be pushing single pedals onto a digital front end. the hd500 a great recording tool but also a huge tone sucker if you don't want to use the amp models. amp by itself sounds great.

    @bdalchow Hey Barry - I didn't mean "why do you think Line 6 called the patch Divided by 13". I meant, why did the amp brand "Divided by 13" decide to call themselves that!

    @scubadaz1973 the jcm800 sound came from the pod hd didnt it ? not the actual amp

  • @TheKeswickGallagher
    @TheKeswickGallagher 13 років тому

    this amp is a big step in the right Direction but it's still not there.
    line 6 use to just do good clean and it's Crunch and Distortion was lacking and didn't sound full at all
    the DT Series seems to of manged to get a very good crunch tone.
    but the Modern gain still sounds lacking and hollow (kind of like you where hearing it though a wall I find)

  • @kingdarko
    @kingdarko 13 років тому

    @scubadaz1973 I thought the jcm 800 sounded pretty dam good, it's straight up easily the marshal sound no question about that. probably if your into your 800's more than me you'll know what the best 800 sounds like to you.

    @AndertonsMusic thanks for the reply!! so how much volume are we talking? I mean I don't anticipate going above a pub or hall sized gig for a good while, do you recon the DT25 is beef enough for that?

    28:26 good gain good gain :P great amp i seriously want this rig, the three guitars at the start and the full stack of this amp, if i ever get any money seriously andertons will be first port of call:D

  • @Planet9_music
    @Planet9_music 13 років тому

    taking price out of the equation, what are the pros and cons of DT25 vs the DT50. Is it about volume or more about getting louder before breaking up? (I've only ever played at bedroom level with a cube30 so trying to work out what amp to go for, for a band situation)

  • @LavamanMusic

    Loved the demo guys, thanks. OMG Chappers liking a line6 product!!I pretty sure that's a sign of the coming Apocalypse . :-P

  • @andertons
    @andertons  13 років тому

    @TomWells11 You're so cynical! There are plenty of videos of Rob & I reviewing Line 6 gear with no Line 6 staff (I think there are only 2 videos with Line 6 demonstrators in them). We shot a small amp shoot out where the LIne 6 Spider came last, so we're not forced to like their stuff. We've reviewed lots of great sounding amps, but I think the reason we liked this one so much was that the technology gives the player so much scope.

    I'm considering this exact rig (with a iso cab) or the Kemper Profiling Amp for home studio work. Which would you say has an edge tonally?

  • @jakajarc

    Dammit Chappers, the more I see the ML1 being played, the more I want one! It's a Steve Vai enthusiast's dream guitar! So much tone and shredability. When is the next shipment coming into Anderton's?

    Most player dream about getting rid of their line6 amps, the high gain has more fizz than a 2 litre bottle of pop strapped to a jackhammer, missed the mark by a mile on the jcm800,

    you know..i'm that kind of a person who prefer humming single coils instead of stacks and big pedalboards instead of processors...but this thing...it's really great. Marshall from Line6 sounds absolutely like Marshall from Marshall. I'm gonna buy this one!
