Rs. My best friend of 20yrs “committed suicide” a month ago. As joe would say, to make a long story less long, got into arguments w/ his gf. She made disrespectful remarks about his sister who was brutally murdered 5yrs ago & my friend unfortunately resulted to putting his hands on her. & I nvr knew him to stoop that low but coming from our environment, he would take it anywhere when needed be.
I feel like once I moved away 6 months ago, & didn’t speak to him as much, maybe he felt alone. Even his GMa was murdered by the same guy.
I felt like we weathered that storm of losing his sister, GMa & unborn nephew & I always felt that even though I moved states away, I would always be here for him.
No txt message or note left for me, which is selfish of me to think. Story goes, one night before he went to sleep w/ the same gf & told her he loved her. Minutes later, she heard a shot...the story goes. I say that w/ skepticism because I can’t believe he did that w/ no call or message to me. The sad part is he called me 2 weeks prior but I nvr returned the call maybe that was the message😞. I thought I would have time to call him back. The irony is his sister called me the day when she passed & I had to deal w/ the guilt of “what if I answered & helped her”. The other sad part is I deal w/ sister pulling the “chance” & sometimes she throws thoughts suicide in the convo, ofc I take it serious but now I’m sitting here w/ a friend who last time I seen him we turned up & spoke of seeing each other again w/ a sister who died to a coward baby’s father. I have no tolerance for the pump fakers of suicide. Don’t end it but don’t use it for attention
I said all that to say, check on your loved ones & if Chance was cappin then he needs to chill. Even if they say they’re “good”, keep an eye & ear for them..PLEASE. My brother nvr mentioned suicide once but I knew he would put his life on the line, which a lot of ppl say but it’s different when u know someone really will risk it all

I already gave yall the criteria to use, shit is science: You use a 10-to-1 point system (meaning the first criteria (Lyrical Ability) gets 10 points because it means the most & how high they rank in that criteria means the most) so on and so forth down to 1 point for the 10th criteria (Longevity). Then you rank each criteria on a five star(*) scale with half points (so 0*, 0.5*, 1*, 1.5*....5*) And that tells you how many points out of 10 they get for each criteria. Add the numbers up at the end and you have their True Value. The higher, the better.

Biggie also had a lot of songs and appearances outside of those two albums. One of them was a double album. Regardless, I’m not saying don’t put Big L on your list. He’s just not on mine. I’m sure Papoose should be on the list, according to some people. I can’t really argue with that either. But they both rank low in the hits category. 🤷🏽♀️ I honestly don’t believe there’s any way to make an actual, factual greatest list, because it’s art. It hits everyone different, depending on what you’ve been through, where you are in life and the memories you have attached to the music.

The elements were less until we got exploited to sell records for the masses to relate for popularity.. Changing the minds of what made hiphop what it was..You may not have skill but you can rap..and if you can rap you go on the list. Not just put words together. This list will take atleast 3- 5 yrs officially. But not a number or ranking order just a list of 100...lyricist...then a 100 using the 6 elements..
