Take the Creature from the Black Lagoon, film it in the Philippines with unknown actors, put the monster in a much cheaper suit that looks like sticky pudding, and throw away the concept of pacing, and you have Demon of Paradise. This is going to be so much fun!
@@SD-jf7nb You conveniently forgot to mention the suffering of Pinoy Muslims under American colonial rule and throughout the Cold War (under Marcos dictatorship and post-People Power Revolution )

Thank you CF for another hidden gem of a movie. I am a fan of B grade movies. This one certainly fits that bill. I look forward to each weeks show. Very entertaining hosts.
Cnsidering this film was produced, written and directed by basically unknown individuals and starred actors that few people have heard of, it isn't that bad a movie.
That's the thing about the movie industry. Someone like Roger Corman did hundreds of next-to-no-budget movies with mostly unknown but promising or somewhat talented people and usually could motivate people to really want to put in work and tell a good story. A good story doesn't have to be that much more expensive to write and film than a bad story as long as you decide to make that extra little bit of effort. So you cut down on the special effects, and you make the sets cheap, and you don't have to pay anyone much, and you re-use some B-roll and offcuts of musical scores that already exist but weren't being used that you can gets your hands on, and if you know where to re-invest that money you saved, you can end up with a movie that's not fantastic by any stretch probably, but interesting and not that bad, or at least interestingly bad. Hollywood still makes great bigger productions too of course, but you don't need to care so much about the craft of making things interesting if you do have the money to blow on special effects, big name actors and marketing. And you probably don't want to make anything too outre, because the market that used to buy home movies has been decimated. You need to at least break even on cinema box offices, so you can't alienate mass audiences by being too complicated or controversial. That's why a lot of these small productions from the 50s and onward sometimes manage to be better and more interesting than they have any right to be.
Cool movie on Creature Features Friday. The movie "Demon of Paradise" sort of reminds me of "Creature From The Black Lagoon". Great video, Creature Features Rock!
Demon of Paradise (1987): Fishing with dynamite drives a lizard-man out of the water to terrorize people (Kathryn Witt, William Steis, Leslie Huntly) in Hawaii.
The folks who originally made these movies didn't always do a great job, but the wonderful team at Creature Features always does, and that's why we keep coming back week after week.
Something about this movie - well, ummm, ya ... okay. Hey! It is after all a late Friday night and since we watched a ..... ummm, a Creature Features film presentation - that in it's self makes it a fun night :) The worst it gets - the better we love it, right? Good night to all - see ya all soon again : )
My dad and I watched this last night, was fairly predictable but fun, and then the helicopter jump happened and we just burst into laughter. I did like scene where the monster is chasing them upstairs and pulls Cahill through the floor, that was unexpected. For a Jaws ripoff they do mix in a few things that keep the film feeling a bit different than the usual. Thumbnail for the upload is awesome.
13:40 I like the wear-marks on the drums, at least something in this movie is authentic! But I don't know where it is authentic for. 14:20 Authentic-looking canoe with outriggers too.
Really good! I still can't believe the hot lady lived, the annoying guy (the reporter) died (but not soon enough), and the ending was also quite unexpected. I never would have called the ending, really! Creature Features pulled off a win with this one, thanks to Tangella and Ozzi (I think that is his name)!
Good show,,,nice black rose bokae ,,not sure if spelled that correct,,,my sister was going to have me try to grow those ,,never got to yet maybe one day,, I love watching things grow 🪴!! Thanks again and have a great time 🏝️🌀💜✌️💙😎🌊🌊🌊🌊🌋🌋🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃

@@CreatureFeatures3 it is currently on several YT channels, at least 3 or 4. You guys had the best showing of it because you had the star and such fun stories and facts she told about the film.
Reminds me of another film with same ide, but can' remember the name. I think it's Itlian set in California. It was construction crews that triggered some beast to awaken. Oh wait, think it had Shelley Winters - Tentacles, 1977. There's also a Lee Majors film, Killer Fish. Have not seen it, but I think natural wildlife is the predator. There's also an "atomic age" movie, I believe, abouta scientist his daughter, a sceming colleague, and government agent(?) about a sea beast some how woken from his slumber.
Beautiful dolls, Miss Tangella, even if Vincent thinks your items are hideous lol👿 This was very entertaining, I had to re-watch Splatterday morning because I missed some scenes laughing at the chat😂 1:09:25 sums it up: "Mayday!Mayday! We're under Attack- it's coming after Us- Big F*** with Big Teeth, man, send help- Now!" Great job, lovely creatures at Creature Features🤘🏻☠️🦖⚗️
I have never heard or seen this movie before.
This is a first for me!
Reserve my seat for this!
See ya all soon :)
Then you should film yourself watching it as a reaction video, Janet. 😉
Creature features..the place where the thumbnail is sometimes better than the movie itself 🙂
Play more Peter Cushing movies! I love everything he is in!

True. I have most definitely seen a few hundred worse than this, but I certainly wouldn't call it good, by any means.
I certainly enjoyed this 80s movie. TY!
Absolutely love you Creature Features ❤
Oooh this looks good !
NOT!!!
Tangela is looking gorgeous as always!
Loves me some cheezie sea monster movies! 🐙
Your lead-in is the best part of the movie.
Got to love Honolulu Philippines 😂
love how the silent tangella is singing the intro song.
That was one of the worst movies I've ever seen…I loved it!♥♥♥♥♥♥

Great opening guys! Creature Features in all its glory from The Philippines directed by the legendary Cirio H. Santiago.
Total cheese😃 reminiscent of the Creature Feature days of the late 60’s and 70’s
Both succulent and precious, sometimes having a curious odour
Love Vincent and Tangella and the mix of B movies you get. Will you guys be doing something special for Halloween? 🎃🎃🎃

Mr sir Livingston Vincent & tangella rule 💯
Good Friday night... Livingston is funny.
Also liked how the guy didnt khow how to use a spinning reel, was cranking it backwards!
That music @6:40 is badass ,its like electronic Tool
Interesting 7/8 meter, not common in film scores.

good 80s flick decent monster for its time, enjoyed it , took no end of bullets , and how many explosions to kill it, silly but fun.
Movie suggestion, "The Undead", a Roger Corman directed movie. Perfect for Creature Features, cheap and readily available.
