Loved this review. Now I really need to see them all for myself up close. Thank you!

Gaugin went with him to Arles. Sadly, VG could not live with people because of his madness. the good looking Gaugin won the affection of the woman VG wanted and that drove VG mad and he chased Gaugin down the streets of Arles, yielding a razor. Gaugin found another place to spend that night and VG went back to the apartment and cut off part of his ear.

Thank you! Seems that Gaugin could have been a bit of a scumbag here and there!

@@ArtTop10 I'm sorry. i did not mean to say that. Gaugin liked women, but VG was the crazy one who drove off his friend just because he was nice looking and sane and women were more attracted to him.

Hello, may I ask if there's a time limit to how long you are able to stay within the Van Gogh exhibition? For example up to 60 mins. It would be such a rush if so...

Not sure, it says allow 50-60 mins but I can’t believe they will throw you out and you could spend 2hrs or longer in there easy. In reality it prob needs repeated visits. It sure if there is some kind of National Gallery card that lets you do that.

how many of the frames are original to each artwork? That would be a very interesting bit of history to have as well.

I’m not sure. Probably v few. I thought Van Gogh’s pics were used to plug holes in roofs before he became mega so I guess none are.

The weird frames from the kroller muller museum cant be changed because of some legacy clause.... I dont like them much

Got a question here.... you said an interesting comment in that if one painted gardens now youd be humiliated. Why do you think this is?

I think these days you are supposed to be making a political comment in art. It all meant to be clever and based on some verbal theme. I don’t think it’s thought that you can be dealing with deep issue just by painting what you see. Personally I think you can.

@@ArtTop10 Yes exactly and thanks for your reply. The irony is its the new status quo like the salon and academy of past days. Figurative painting is tough but I do it to be an anarchist. Robert Hughes's film Mona Lisa's Curse unpicked it well, if you can find the film that is....

Great Review! are the paintings on the wall the real ones, or replicas? I'm just wondering... if they are real... how poorly they are protected 😅

Mad question!!! I have no idea and hadn’t thought they might be hanging replicas! Wild idea!!! 💡

Visited today and what a joy! It was a real privilege to see the Sunflower triptych together as they should be.
