I started to viewing your videos that I missed. This one caught my eye because I started brewing beer again after a 25 year break. Great tip on using a water bottle. Thank you for the great content of all your videos and welcome back. I missed you.

    Steve,
Yes. Carbonation drops do leave sediment just like priming sugar. The drops made by Coopers are made of sugar and glucose. The tablets made by Muntons are made of Dextrose, Spray-Dried malt extract (DME) and a heading powder. Both provide food for the yeast to east and as such will produce C02 as a by-product and sediment. The only non-sediment method I am aware of is forced carbonation.

Great tip! I'll do that with my next batch. For some reason it always takes me 3 to 4 weeks for carbonation to finish. The plastic bottle guage will be a nice guage.

Hi, I am out in China and want to try my hand at brewing cider. Is the bottle carbonation process the same for bottled cider? The Chinese are mad for brewing their own liquor. Argg it is awful, but very strong. I will be purchasing one of those distillers as well seeing as I can brew in them. Almost impossible to get hard cider here. I do not mind the murk, but must have a fizz :) 254, When I lived in West, near Waco that was the prefix for my number. 7 years ago now though. I am originally from the UK but am a naturalized citizen of the US. Although I live perm in China now.

Can you add another packet of yeast along with the priming sugar, to assure carbonation?

You could but there is no telling what the results might be. You may have quite a bit of sediment once it is finished.

Does the carbonation drops leave a sediment in the bottle?

+Steve Davidson Yes. Any fermentable sugar added will leave sediment
