The Shop Tab on the far right for individual heroes is only for the ultra-rich. There's always packages that are better and cheaper.
You can get ALL the Champions... eventually! Paying $$$ just makes it faster & easier. Even almost all the trinkets and 'pretty things' are eventually available outside of cash. Not all, but most.

Good game for people who can play on daily basis within 3-4 years. Otherwise it is too expensive to play
