Hmm ... generally speaking resin - some are of natural origin, some not - and plastic are different materials. Plasticity/plastic is more a kind of property than a material. The thing is: Do you have the formula of the material used by Montblanc for their pens, to say that is worth nothing? I do possess several Montblanc pens and I could not really say if the material they are made of is cheap. I take care of them, and they do not have any sign of degrading or something like that, although they are a couple of decades old.
Why is it that you complain about cleaning both pens? There are cleansing fluids, you suck them into the pen, you shake the pen to reach the whole ink space, and you rinse your pen after 5 minutes a couple (or more) times and that's it.
The converters made by Sailor are a DESASTER. I recommend using empty cartridges, you fill them with a cannula using the ink of your preference.
I concur 100% about liking the Sailor nibs. I have also a KOP and really love how is the writing with it, I can say the same about Pilot.
And, of course, collecting expensive pens is expensive ... I just buy a couple per year, and only those I know I love and prefer not to talk about the price ....
