I haven’t seen so many deflections on an issue that keeps coming around like a revolving door. Why can’t we say, if you drink and drive and get caught, you will lose that privilege forever or for 5 - 10 years? In this case that person is probably going to prison for that long, but I’m talking about regular stops. We have severe punishment as a déterrent for other crimes, but it seems drinking and driving is always considered a lesser crime even though it has killed many people over the years, and in some cases people who have committed the same offense twice. The amount of priority that has been given to make alcohol more accessible in convenience stores this summer by Doug Ford has been something to behold and using 200+ million of taxpayer dollars. Really worth it.

Why would you be riding a bike at nite on a busy highway wearing black??? Nobody could see you, let alone a driver that has been drinking.. What happen to his audi bwm?? So many questions that they will not give us, only what they want.

That would be a good point under a normal circumstance if the drivers involved were fully sober and aware what was going on, but that inebriated driver should still NOT have been driving at that time. I mean if you think about it, perhaps the driver in front of him was slowing down because they could still see the brothers on their bikes, and he simply made a catastrophic error in judgement and chose to pass them, resulting in hitting the both of them while on their bikes.

It was evening time when they were struck, around 8pm. It wasn't night time. The news footage was at night because it was a couple hours after they recorded footage of the road. Sunset was around 7:45pm but it isn't instantly dark at that time.

From the news reports, it looks like that the cars in front slowed down to slightly veer to their left to pass them; however, the impatient drunk driver veered to the right to pass these cars by driving along the shoulder lane where the brothers were. In addition and unless I missed something somewhere, none of the many news reports I've been watching had any details on what color of clothing the brothers were wearing. Apparently, they were visible to the cars that were able to avoid them.
