Love this set!! I used the 3/8 ratchet to break lugs on a trailer one time when I got a flat and it did the job, ratchet still works too. I even had a 3 foot long cheater pipe on it and it held up.
Id say this box is more for hard mechanics like this is for real car projects such as dropping a transmission or changing spark plugs this is a great set of tools for the price especially
just bought one of these as well back friday deal. I thought it was a pretty good deal. I also have a black edition socket set from husky which seems to have better quality stuff in it. it has a ratchet with finer teeth in it, and it had universial sockets instead of hex sockets and those usually aren't very good because they can round of nuts and bolts but these sockets have teeth that bite on the corners and bite real hard so that you can't round the heads, but the chromies in this kit are not like that, they are just standard 12 point sockets.
You should have tested the ratchets and sockets and if you didn't want the fluff they had a 200pc socket set for the same price with short shallow and deep socket sets in mm and sae in my experience as an automotive tech the husky sockets and ratchets will get the job done at a fraction of the cost of a tool truck brand so for a beginning tech they are a decent place to start that said I bought one of these sets to keep in my truck toolbox because dragging my Matco tools out of the shop is not convenient this set can handle most jobs
I have this same tool set and use it quite often. I probably won’t use every piece but they’re solid tools. I believe the 125 piece is more of a realistic purchase.
@@brettkramer that's like a difference of a few millimeters though. it seems like filler honestly, they could have added more wrenches or some pry tools or an oil filter wrench.
@@ElectronicsForFun In my case and with my 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero 2.3T Wagon, it's the difference between being able to perform the service or not. The hex Socket and ratchet combination that I used was a Craftsman Hex Socket and I believe an SK ratchet, it didn't work because there wasn't enough clearance, the plain ole, simple hex tool did the job for me. Perhaps if I had used different tools, like this Husky set, it might have worked. I think this Husky is most impressive, although I'm not sure I would want to carry it up and down three flights of stairs.
The 125 piece set is better, it doesnt have that many fillers, you dont get the wrenches but still, you dont get a complete set with this one so you'll probably just end up buying wrenches anyway.
"Husky" is a brand name owned by home depot. Apex tools is the company contracted by HD to make the sockets and wrenchs. I wouldnt be concerned about either of them disappearing

I like my 268 version better more wrenches less stupid filler bits

Will the top shelf come out if you unscrew the 3 bolts on each side?
they aren't screws they are rivets.
What's the difference between this and the 268 piece set? I saw both at homedepot.com and they look exactly the same.
268 has more wrenches they go all the way up to 7/8.
How did you get an extra $25 off of the set?
david keo most likely used the Home Depot credit card that they offer
I have this exact set and the drawers do fall out if you travel with your tools
You talk more about the quality of the box then you do the actual tools and float the extra 25$ promo, but never sate how.
If you have to replace the brake calipers on a Saab, you will definitely use those Allen wrenches !
I feel like the allen head sockets that come with this kit would always be preferred over an actual allen wrench.
@@ElectronicsForFun They sure would be, unless you couldn't fit the socket with it's attached ratchet in a tight space.

@@brettkramer I feel like a mechanic who's that involved would have more than just one tool kit. I have multiple socket and wrench sets.
Price please

What are extra 2 pieces in this that the 268 does not have
268-piece set you get 16 more wrenches and less small bits. 270 piece tool set you get 14 wrenches 268 piece tool set you get 30 wrenches

Do the drawers pull out when the top is latched?
yes
All that and no wobble to get to hard to reach places:(
Home depot wants to see the receipt, they'll tell you to call Husky
it depends on the store.
Mine doesn’t require a receipt. They gave me a whole new set of pliers for free when I brought in only one defective pair
Saw feet and puked in my mouth a lil bit 🤢
For 99$ thanks ha.
