pretty sure that all you need to do is to do the same thing as the adapters but with a composite jack instead since vhs literally just records a composite video signal
Why am I now imagining some sort of gutted vcr designed to accommodate a modified vhs tape that was turned into an sd card that a now modded vcr pulls in and loads to play and record from using a raspberry pi much like shown here. I can’t imagine anyone ever actually attempting to create an actual vhs tape adapter as the spinning head would make it a logistical nightmare of a challenge. Though if one could create a magnetic field that the head could read correctly it would in theory work. It would certainly be a project only one if any cares about as the entire idea of it is fairly pointless. Hence if your goal is to input a composite video signal normally that already existed on the vcr.
Go on Boris, i enjoyed this video, it was like an old UA-cam video no bull straight to point and simple camera work .. weird concept but it was your idea and you completed it, cannot fault you ten points. and 1 sub look forward to see what you come up with.
Love it! Well done! With a camera on the front... So you just point it at your TV to record your show. Where can I send my old tapes to get this conversion done?
so disappointing. i had this vision that you had put a digital video player, in a VHS, that had a magnetic interface that would emulate tape, and allow me to play digital video on my VHS, via an Analog transport. In such a device, the analog signal would be fed to a magnetic helical head that is similar to those found in VHS recorders. Instead of recording onto a physical tape, this head interacts with a rotating drum or a fixed medium that simulates the magnetic properties of a VHS tape. This could involve a magnetic surface or material that can be temporarily magnetized in a way that mimics the linear tracks of a VHS tape.
hi i had the same usb video card i was getting alot of drop outs i was using a tiger sd card for a long long time still have them the thing the new windows 10 and softwear was not right and i have a ripper now so it pay to record on a dvd recorder yes i know they are junk a blue ray recorder are the same bro has one junk to they are home decks if it used in the home there down falls sdi alot of them go now
I don't see how a pretend tape spool and a raspberry pie is any better than just sticking a smartphone inside. If you wanted a tape machine inside why not get a miniDV or 8MM camcorder with a tape transport small enough to fit, remove transport and necessary drive boards from the camcorder, install in the tape shell and interface that to a raspberry pie?
I was expecting it to play video through a VCR somehow, like those bluetooth/aux tape adapters for cars.

The VCR extracts the tape and wraps it around the video heads that spin at 1800 rpm, so it would be challenging!

What woulc be cooler is if you could replicate video INSIDE a VCR e.g. via the heads.
Cool! I remember those! Great explanation.

This is so ridiculous, I SIMPLY LOVE IT!!!
Kooo-wazeee - Love it - Truly the Jules Verne of Circuitry
Great project!
You have missed one operation. After recording, you need to rewind the tape for playback of the recording.
next do a DVD player inside a Blu-Ray
That would be easily possible, if you use a newer DVD player and a really old Blu-ray player.
@@matthew65536 I feel like you misread
Great video!
Thanks!

0:54 then the player would eat the tape...oh the joy
for style points, add a label to the top with the functions, and an epaper 'label' on the spine with the video title.
Loved this video idea!
wow this is one of the best retrotech with a Pi project that i have seen, keep the good work! new sub from Venezuela ;)
Thanks and welcome
"I used the VCR to play the VCR."
More vids please converting old hifi into Morden audio devices
So cool and very well explained
Thank you!
Thank you... where is the repository ?

Brand new subscriber - love your videos and that you put some random retro behind you every time... I'll be baaaaaaaaccckkk. @TechHeart6090

Sometimes, the object doesn’t have to make sense… it’s a project that explores your skills and abilities.
