Ps3: dc universe online - super speed and acrobatics

- nothing important just my opinion and characters in dc universe
•L3 ability to activate ability
after lv 9 u can upgrade ur movement abilities for
•speedy faster speed, long jump (less affect in fast speed mode)
•acrobatics jets, grappling hook
hold L3 after movement ability is activated for the faster speed( speedy) and for jets ( acrobatic after jumping in air and holding jump button)
hold jump button while ascending in air with the speedy to turn ur falling into a forward motion instead of a straight drop (long jump doesnt work while descending though i still did it cause it looks cool)
with acrobatics while climbing hold jump but to grapple up the building (where u let go is where the grapple stops or it will stop near the edge it is latched to)
this is all i have for now only lv 15 and 13 with my characters (these abilities require skill points and not power) - Ігри

hey man. thanks for this. i am literally loading the dcuo app now in ps3 and have been doing some research. i played city of heroes back in 03, so it was a while ago. basically this appears to be extremely similar but with trademark heroes this time and better tech. i came to the exactly same conclusion back then in COH. that being, speed was superior to flight. actually jumping and speed i think is what it was. flight was so slow and didn't do much for you. speed for me here too.
@thekamon10 good question (in ur base there is a teleporter to get to the main hq, use that to get to other world)
@jrion2 well the thing with me and flight powers is that it just tends to bore me. i feel like i have no interaction, im just watching my character fly to one area to the next unlike superspeed where im darting all over the place cause i can stick to any surface like a magnet and running up huge buildings and jumping off the very top just never gets old lol

thx... im in the game now. just got through the intro and got to the villains safehouse... am not exactly sure what im suppose to do now, since the questing isnt all that clear. so for now im just having fun exploring the city a bit and getting used to my acrobat ability.. which is quite fun!

eventually i got bored so i dont play anything anymore... :D but lately i want to try this game out and cant decide,still waiting for TOR to come out.
@TheAssassinPenguin did you have key gen from your laptop and redeem the code and put it in ur ps3 or u download it just from psn store?
P.S. im only asking this much questions becuase im new to this stuff even to my ps3
@celldashi what power would you recomend? i am only gonna choose 2 cause im getting free to play but i dont have any favorites
I like the crawling with Acrobats and now Im finding out they can fly! An acrobat and a speedster is all you need.
You get the best of both worlds. Decent speed and Flight at level 9!!!
@celldashi is this the sort of game where if i played online someone could randomly kill my anywhere anytime ? or are there non pvp zones??
@KasirRham gunners have to target meters. red and white. when in white u have no accuracy but u are out of range, and ur range attack damage is reduced. if u are to far even if u can hit the enemy they will reset. if hit in movement (speedsters slow down/ flyers slow down/ and acrobats slowdown or fall if in air but can still grapple to safety much faster then flying away) have advantages and disadvantages. and hover mode is only 3/5 of the flying speed flying mode (they slowly gain lead)
I'm not sure why but most people I know don't like flying. I tend to like it and I found that you go faster than speedsters. People tell me no it isn't until they are eating my dust after I give them a head start.
lol i never thought i could get 44k views. thank u all for the positive feedback. this vid is always refreshing to look at. few haters, almost had a system war (but i ended it), and only 1 person who said this is was stupid cause i didnt show flying in this vid (even though there are thousands of flying vids out there). so again thank you for ur positive viewing.

thanks but i started downloading it but just one question how long did it take you to download the game cause its taking me like almost 20 or more min for 1 percent to download
@celldashi I cant make force speed work, do you press L3 and hold it while you are running? or you can do it standing?
Meelee can you tell me how to use the acrobatics like when you launch yourself and then you glide but you glide fast I'm having trouble with that on PC :/
@narutardtedr true, gankers do love some flight. I might give flight a try but it looks so fun to crawl up buildings and jump across gaps or glide across them. Flying dose have some advantages but it just dosn't seem as fun to me, I guess because people do it so much.
Oh I also found out that certain gear from joker's vault allows change of movement modes but you cannot upgrade it.
@IRON5 they are the same town just one (across the bridge from each other)(metropolis). one is high tech and the other side is high tech in a different way. 1 city altogether but 2 cities period. and yes u see the female character in that world (go to the space headquarters)

understood, and thanks for replying. a different question for you if you please. i'm new to this game, maybe 9 days. problem is i don't know how a lot works due to no manual. even simple stuff like the attributes might, vitality and all of them. just had no idea how to apply equpiment in a way that helps the game. i figured some of that out. but how do you socket red and yellow? what's that mean? i'm a free player too btw.
How do you get the font to be so big? I tampered with the options but nothing helped. :(
@zeyn10 flight is the fastest way of movement once u unlock super speed or sonic flight whatever its called
@gogeta11000 u probably saw othello if u saw the villain character and shigeru is a hero (who looks cooler now instead of that ugly military hero look, cause at the time i didnt kno u could change appearance without having to change armor)

@RussianKGB00 yep level nine is required to be able to unlock all movement abilities and i think lv 12 for all special moves
is it possible to change your movement mode after creating you character?

Oh, gosh... How I miss that special glide move!
I really think they blew that glide move and now its just like another aerial movement type. Just sad. =(

@MediaTheKid maybe, lol but u should download it without interruption (take a few days off of playstation while downloading it)

I think super speed is the fast because of the jump on buildings, It's one of my favorites.
PC users and PS3 users play toghether in one server or plays in their own servers ?

I love super-speed so fun. I love the flash so I chose it. Cant wait to get ultra super-speed
If u glide next to a wall/building u grapple and propell yourself toward the wall/building (this skill comes with the grapple to Dah top of Dah building one)
not when it first came out. btw the way you glide also has changed, unlike before where you could not control your elevation and would only rise near a building, now its as simple as pressing up and down. dont act like the game is 100% the same as it was 3 years ago.

@MrMjoez if u can read and see vid its used once to get to the top of a building
@chloelee12 lol second half of vid is legitimately almost all it has to offer (ur characters mentor wep and power has nothing to do with speed, acrobatics, or flying)
@feenage the game is like a true mmo and ur psn id is needed to play but ur not forced to use psn name or restricted by ur psn name (think of wow's character setup)(once u start the game its a mmo instead of a ps3 game)
the system is different now then it was before it was free. before u could control it with the d-pad. (even if its different now the d-pad should still be able to control it).
u have local: those near will hear.
shout: erbody can hear ya.
group: er body in ur group. voice chat enabled.
legend: more like a clan based chat. wisper: (/w may not work anymore) u can use this through one of the controls in the d-pad.
if there are more its because im majorly outdated.
what can you recommend for powers, mentor, heroes or villains, and movement?

@demitri9871 lol yeah but its not as fast as super flying, but its more fun and u can grapple if u get hit (flying if u get hit u fly real slow and cant actually escape since most enemy shot and fly also)

If you make a character with Nature "skills" with Acrobatics, you can have fly(pteranodon flight form nature skill), super speed(werewolf form), and acrobatics at once.
yup thats why i love speed
@Cherrystem121 its ok and although i didnt have it at the time u can grapple from the air to the next building also so grapple to the top then to the build next to it while gliding in a clustered area and superspeed flying isnt to much faster then what it just showed u

when you get to lvl 9 or so u unlock the skill then and u had to press a button i dont remember now what button it was but i went into options and changed the button to mouse wheel button so yeah u can choose wich button u want to use for the rocket glide i hope i helped :S
nice characters do you have iconic powers for them?
@celldashi nope at level 9 you can purchase this skill to super boost your speed. I fly faster then runners. But super speed is still sicker then flying.
i have 4 questions
1) which is better ps3 or pc?
2) is ps3 the mmo as in everyone online?
3) can you free roam for ps3 and pc?
4) when you buy it do you hav to pay every month?
u try getting better quality with a coolpix 3000 then. without the easy cap and recording it from a tripod on a small tv.
Be nature, have all three :D flying is calming, acrobatics is utilitarian with grapples, and speed is fun
sightseeing is only fun the first few times. gliding has a grappling function thats fun to use regardless of where you are at. who gets bored of jumping from building to building, while trying to not hit the ground. flying is boring and pointless cause its simple and requires no skill to get it to work its best.

you have to purchase the skill to use the weapons (wasting a skill point) to use weapons that isnt the same as the first one you had (im assuming your a high level then your epuipment you bought also.
fp2 was what made me quit (lost alot of things) and when i payed 15$ less then the normal for everything back (i only got 80% of my things)
On both of my characters I have acrobatics but Im thinking of recreating one of them where they have flight or super speed so they can either fly or run across water :/ Cause I get bored running across a bridge
Don't see how flying is pointless. o_O I have Super Sonic flight on my toon and it kicks ass. Think it's all a matter of opinion there bud. Either way, I haven't tested Super Speed so it was neat to actually see it in action.
did you keep your ps3 on for that whole 15 hours?

hold L3 (push leftstick down and hold it) after you jump. said it in vid and in description
depends on the color and type of armor you are wearing.
This game is on the PC as well you know.. food for thought.
Acrobatics is totally prototype
they jump, run fast, glide... its awesome

@jrion2 true its basically flying excpet you can run alittle bit fast and climb up walls. i think superspeed is funner.
