It's really admirable how you always see projects through from conception to completion. I will be surely using this approach! Great job guys once again!

As a retired engineer looking to re-learn (long forgotten and unused) structural eng techniques these videos are absolutely brilliant. Single topic, concise and very clear presentations are an excellent stimulus for further reading. Thanks.
Any possibility of a design for small raft foundation?

The stiffness of the members would have an effect on the accuracy of the empirical equations. When UC152x23 is used as columns, BM would increase on the beam.

Hi there just revisiting this video again, i am doing some simple structural analysis on a portal frame for my MEng project (I am not a structural engineer, i am on a design/ materials pathways). I am using the equations set out in this video however I cant reference this video lol. Can you recommended a book these equations have been pull from? I have looked high and low and I cant find these specifically? I managed to find loads which are much more complex. Thank you

    It was so helpful.
    I’m working in US.
Would you prepare US unit version of this video.

We'll try to fit in. However, you can easily use Mathcad to convert the units!

Thank you for your comment! Forces & deflections are important concepts in structural analysis that are used to evaluate the strength & stability of a structure. In our tutorial on calculating goal post steel frame forces & lateral deflection, we rely on a variety of equations & design procedures to accurately determine these quantities.
In terms of codes of practice, we generally follow the guidelines provided in the European standard for structural steel design, EN 1993-1-1: 2005 (also known as the Eurocode 3). This standard covers the design of steel structures, including goal post steel frames, & provides equations and procedures for calculating the forces & deflections in these frames.
We hope this helps to clarify the sources that we use in our tutorial. Thank you again for watching the video & for your question!

Can i do the calculations of steel cylindrical hollow handrail with same conception?
The top rail is horizontal attached with two posts vertically attached to the ground?
With a point load on the top rail
    Thanks in advance
