For people that there gen for standby power. This is the best way ever to do it. Gen will be happy with the natural gas no gumming up no fuel storage issues carb issues and runs cleaning and it's endless. Just remember to Chang the oil in the Gen every 100 hours.
My gen set up is the same outcome but a different idea, about 5 months ago I started looking for a generator with 8k to 7k min running watts after looking and watching videos on them I found a Predator 8750/7,000 running watts it was on sale for 499.99 and compared to all the other brands with around that output they were all around 1,000.00 so it was very reasonable. I ran 220 to my garage and a breaker box all wiring after it was built. I used the 30 amp breaker I still had when I sold my compressor bought 8 guage wired it into breaker box. I still have to go in my basement to turn off my main and Central air until I get the capacitor I need for Central air hard start. I looked at Tri fuel kits from US Carb and Century Fuel both kits were around 200. US Carb has the new motor Snorkel and Century Fuel has the old style Venturi that caused many people to destroy their units and void warranty’s. I bought a Chinese Duel Fuel carb like the ones you see on gen sets and only 35.00 they claim will also run NG. I have 3/4” to back of house and after research found out I can run 1/2” hose up to 40 ft if needed but only needed 25ft. Anyway the same outcome but different parts and several hundred cheaper. Those Tri- Fuel kits are too expensive compared to a duel fuel carb you just install the new motor Snorkel is the new design and I was going to just buy that one and a 40. Garretson Regulator but the gasket with a piece of soft plastic to let gas in cost 80.00 that’s nuts when I can get a carb with built on regulator that will run gas-NG-LPG for 35.00. I’m looking for hose and I’m done but I saved a lot of money researching what I needed.
Generator was a gift. Gas conversion kit plus 20 ft 3/4" hose and quick disconnect from US Carburation was $422 including shipping. Electrical supplies including inlet box, 20 ft cord plus plug and receptacle, interlock, 30 ft of 10/4 Romex + breaker was approx. $280 . Plumbing supplies including black pipe, galvanized pipe, fittings and valves was approx. $120. The tach/ houmeter was $18 from Ebay. It has a dual purpose, tells you the RPM of the engine, and it tells you how long the engine has been running so you know when to change the oil. So altogether it was close to $850 to get it set up like this. But I feel it was well worth it,
Wow. I ended up spending only about $65 for my tri fuel conversion. Not from US carb that's for sure. Carb, regulator for the tank, and multi function display with hour meter, etc. Hose I have laying around for my air compressor so there was no purchase there.
Are those water valves on the gas line? Are the valves rated for gas? Regular water ball valves aren't rated for gas because some of the chemicals in the gas can eat away at the plastic surrounding the ball causing the valve not to shut off.
Nice setup. I am wondering why you went with such a large gas hose? Did you know that would run on 3/8 in or less. The hose I use on my 3.6KW has about 1/4 in inner diameter. I guess it gives you the ability to upgrade to a larger generator without having to buy larger hose.
Wow that is genious.. what does that set up run you for the generator.. I am assuming you did all of that work yourself.. how do you know how much capacity t g at generator has so it doesn't overheat? What was that little doodads pedometer digital meter for? I didn't get what it was or how to monitor it.
Hi this is great information. I just purchased the same gen. And I'm looking to make the plug just like you create. Can you share detail on how you put this together? Thanks
The plug and receptacle is made by Pass and Seymour. Putting the extension cord together took a little time. The receptacle side is straight forward, one wire to each terminal screw (4 wires total). However on the plug side which is 3 prong, I had to drill a small home on the hot leg terminal housing, so that it would accept 2 wires so it would power up both sides of the panel. I should have noted in this video this generator will not power anything 220v ( Central A/C, stove, dryer, HW heater) which is fine for me since I have gas appliances. Even if you hooked this up to your panel and have 220V appliances, no harm would happen, your appliances would just be dead. But its a good idea to shut the 220v breakers anyway.

I have a similar setup, but I haven't done the NG conversion yet. Nice video!
Cool setup. I've never seen a genny on the main breaker box. That safety interlock is a great idea.

Perfect. Thanks again for sharing! We'll done...
Thanks Mike. That was informative, and useful. (Yep. People are still finding your vid' lol)
Nice video. Thank you for sharing.

So this will not work on the Champion 4000 dual fuel?
Nice video. Thanks for the info
What diameter gas hose did you use?

water tap above a 240v... That's defintially done by you.
Are those water valves you used for gas line?
Those are full port valves, they are rated for water, air, or gas.The opening on a conventional gate type gas valve is smaller.
Nice. I just bought the Champion 10296 model and was hoping to find a conversion kit for LPG to NG.
There should be a sediment trap right before the generator.
old video you dornt have to do any of this any more you can buy a $30 carburetor Amazon to run n.g. l.p.g. or gasoline easy install.
I have the same generator can anyone tell me how long it will run off a 20lb tank
Did anyone notice the water faucet directly over the outlet.🥴
