  • Join us in this video as we work on a Toro S200 snowblower that has been sitting idle for a few years. With mild winters in our area, many snow blowers have been neglected. In this episode, we dive into the fuel system, starting with the gas tank, which appears to have evaporated fuel. Watch as we inspect and clean the tank, replace the short fuel line, and assess the carburetor's condition. Along the way, we share tips on preventing fuel-related issues and offer insights into maintaining these machines. Join us for a satisfying start-up and see how we bring this snowblower back to life. Don't forget to subscribe and hit the bell icon for more upcoming videos as we delve into more complex repairs and maintenance tasks. Thanks for watching, and let's get started!

    I know this is an old video but I want to thank you for it's simplicity. Very well done. I just picked up the same Toro model at a yard sale for $10.00. Your video is perfect. Thanks again

    My Grandpa's has been sitting in the basement unused for about the past 25 years. Luckily no gas in it. I'm going to get some and see if it will run.

      TreasureHuntingSWPA - They’re good little blowers. We don’t get much snow here in southern Ohio so they’re nice to have for small areas. Good luck getting it running. 👍

    I ended up using this gas tank on a vintage style go kart, it was small enough to mount above the carb and not obnoxious

    I picked one of these up off the side of the road today. Didn't have to do anything and it runs. It's in rough shape though. Starting your engine up in the summer wont do any good unless you stabilize the fuel.

    I swapped out my snowblower to one of the Chinese Yanmar diesel clones so I'd never have to mess with old gas in it. The diesel engine swap worked absolutely fantastic. It does take 8 or 9 cranks to start in the cold weather but you can add electric start to these or just hit the cylinder with a propane torch for 30 seconds to make it start quickly. Has way more power, efficiency, and still have all the electric grip warmers, etc.

      @baldeagle242  2 роки тому +1

      That's awesome! I've used the propane trick on my old 7.3 in the past when I forget to plug in the block heater. So far ive been lucky and not blown the intake off of it. 😁👍

      @@Proskaters6 id check your kill switch and kill wire for any damage. You already replaced the plug so after that i’d check the air gap on the coil. Lastly if that all checks out is replace the coil.

    I have one of these S-200 Snow Throwers, but can't get it started. I cleaned the carb and installed a new diaphragm, etc. When I tested the compression it was around 80 psi, not sure if that is a bit low.

    • @baldeagle242
      @baldeagle242  3 роки тому +1

      @@baldeagle242 I believe I tried starting fluid, and wouldn't fire. I also have a slightly newer model that I bought in 88, same issue. I can't find any aftermarket carbs for them, they both have the same flat Toro made carbs.

    My opinion Ethanol Gasoline is horrible for small engines, Almost impossible to find gas without ethanol i started running my mowers with the highest octane i can purchase not sure if this helps or not, for my leaf blower I purchase the premixed cans because it has no ethanol and a can of fuel will last 2 seasons, my snow blower i run the carb out of fuel and drain the tank in the summer just trying to give the carb the best chance of surviving, I could be completely wrong But it works good so far
