Nice percussion feature! (actually nice show period) Another great band from the state of Texas. Thanks for sharing your talents. You should be proud of your accomplishments no matter your placement.
Is it UIL standard operating procedure to talk over the first 20-30 seconds of the programs? Cause every UIL video I see, that's what's happening. Just curious.
Not always. Particularly until State Finals if I remember right, there's a pretty strict time limit on everything, and often full shows go over said time limit, so to cram the full show in, bands will choose to start the show a little bit before. However I'm not sure if you can adjudicate anything before "you may begin your performance for the [insert contest and round here]" Hopefully that made sense, sorry if I didn't make it make sense
@@TheSuperParatrooper Some bands have a dedicated part 0 or preshow, some don’t. I’ve marched shows in both scenarios. The whole process is set on timers, including a 5 minute setup, and 8 minute performance. The announcer starts when there are 45 seconds on the setup timer(bands are allowed to warm up and stuff), says “drum majors [names] you may begin your performance for the [competition and round]” at 20 seconds left, then adjudication starts on the 8 minutes of performance *no matter what the band* does. The announcer changes nothing about their script because it says in their template that it’s their job not to. I can link that script if you want.
Unbelievable. So well done. Congrats to everyone involved.
What an amazing way to hear your tunes! 😮
