    Thank you for this! I am a worship guitarist, and I’ve been told I need to “play up the neck more”. This is a game changer!! 🙏

    Thanks for another great lesson, Jared. How you stress to take the time to figure certain concepts out for ourselves is the key to why these lessons click with me, regardless of how familiar or unfamiliar I am with the subject. UA-cam is full of videos of guitar knowledge, but not necessarily showing how to understand that knowledge for ourselves which is what you do each lesson. Thank you thank you.

      Awesome! Totally - We can definitely be guided towards what to work on, but always the real learning happens on our own. I'm glad that concept is resonating with you and that you're finding it helpful! :) Thanks for the feedback and comment!

      Totally agree with this 100%. His comment that starts at 3:10 is spot on. I've been playing for 38 years and used tab and looking things up on Google (in the last 10 years) and it has held me back. I'm now taking a single concept at a time and really understanding it before moving on. I'm glad I found this channel because I love the way Jared explains things.

    Jared, thank you for the explanation of how to locate inversions of 1-3-5 triads by moving up the same string(s)...1 moves up to 3, 3 moves up to 5 & 5 moves up to 1...🤯...gave my "mental representations" of the fretboard another boost! 👍🏽👍🏼

      Glad it helped, David! Thanks for checking out some of my earlier lesson videos :)

    That simple rule of raise each note up to the next interval in the triad to get next inversion is so cool!!!!. Stuck at work need get back my axe!.

    Triads have changed the way I see the fretboard. It took me a long time though. This video is very good 👍

    What about what I would call the non-sequential inversions: 1-5-3; 5-3-1 and 3-1-5 ?

    What a beautiful lamp. I want one. Videos are great but that lamp makes me nervous and looks like it’s about to get knocked over! Oh no! Keep it up! Love the channel!

      HAHA thanks! I guess it does look pretty precarious doesn't it?! I see that now. It's definiltey more stable in real life than it looks, but I appreciate you mentioning it. I like the color it adds but don't want it to be nerve wracking or distracting when watching :) I tried a new camera angle this week. Thanks for watching! Cheers :)

    Does a slash-chord mean that the slash note is in the bass strings or that the note is at the bottom of the chord as an inversion; I always thought in meant in the bass, meaning the bass strings. food for thought.

    • @soundguitar
      @soundguitar  Рік тому

      Doesn't matter the string, just means it's the lowest sounding note

    Hi Jared, I feel like your videos are really really helpful, however I feel like I don't have the pre-requisites of the context that you have been trying to share especially in this video. Can I ask for suggestions on what to look for before I dive into your videos/lessons. I'm a total beginner, I am just starting to know/learn my fretboard. I've watched another one of yours, or maybe two already, have them saved on one of my private playlist. I kinda wanna go back to them after I understand the basics, hopefully I get suggestions that will give me access to free stuff (HEHE). THANKS! Already your subscriber by the way. Stay cool!

      Hi Dali! Thanks for asking. I don't have a great linear path for beginners at the moment, but that's something I'm planning on creating on the channel in the future - a "start here" type of resource where brand new players can get up to speed and start enjoying the intermediate and advanced stuff. I do however have a "Beginning guitarist" playlist where I save all the lessons that I think are relevant for beginners. I'd skim through that playlist and see if some of it is helpful for your current goals. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/play/PLho65cYn4nF31iNBwu1bUHcCa9TD-QzNm.html. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
