Every time I clickbait on the mArvelous videos, my mind travels back in time, to the era of the ma and pa videorentals and the low budget early 90s local cable networks. 🙄 I miss those times and places.
Grim Prairie Tales is a favorite of mine and a great addition to the awesome genre of anthology movies. I remember being a young kid who was up to late and catching it on HBO it had me hooked from the start. I then told lots a friends to watch it and it was always a hit, It's not some oscar worthy film but I highly recommend it to horror fans.
I love discovering horror movies, especially these kind that have been over looked, i feel like a lot of good horror movies are hidden under the radar because of todays standards for horror being mostly jumpscares and loud noises, we still get good ones occasionally though!
this made me want to watch "Meet the Applegates" I loved that movie, cheezey and far too adult for the child I was when I watched it a millions times. All I had to see was the giant Praying Mantis and I was reminded of it
This thumbnail is from the poster for Intruder(1989). Some of the others are posters, or alternate posters, while others have been combos of images of characters and a title.
Although I wouldn’t recommend all of these movies, I would recommend Intruder to any slasher fan. Sam Raimi is in it, and helped get it made, and they pull off a really fun movie on half a shoestring of a budget.
Good luck. Synapse is supposedly working on it. I've been emailing them on and off for over a year. They keep telling me soon. I think their idea of soon is much different from mine
Nissssssssssssssssssce🍻 Seen all these! The Deadly Spawn had a great VHS box cover showing the monster. The second I saw it I rented it! Q is alil boring but the lead actor is kinda a wacky ass! He's in The stuff also & was a wacky ass in that. But it's an entertaining wacky assness! Who else saw Blue Monkey & waited to actually see a blue monkey??? The Brain was awesomely bad! The Microwave Massacre should been on this list! It's so bad it's good!
Okay I can see myself liking "There's Nothing out there and Q" quite a bit. As for the rest I can understand why plenty of people would like the rest. Are you doing to start showing something other than horror in your video's? Hey when are you going to have some video's up about underrated Disney Movies and TV. It could be a good one.
Abandoned horror movies... Who got left behind? Dream Demon... I believe you can get me through the night... The Deadly Spawn... Always, ALWAYS these movie folks mess with the fallen meteorite... Q... Kung Fu takes on a giant flying lizard 🦎... Blue Monkey... That funky chunky!! Giant mantis is cool... Intruder... Last call for 80's slashers! Watch out for ex's... There's Nothing Out There... Close up panty shot, bikini girl, green tentacle thingy. Nope nothing out there at all... The Brain... A face-hugging brain complete with tail. What manner of chestburster would that produce? The Kindred... Quick! Burn up my lab notes and erase my search history!! The gill girl and the slime creature are out to besmirch my name... Grim Prairie Tales... Are there grim houses on that prairie? Western horror with Vader's voice. Anthology with a spin...
Yeah, the only thing they had in common was an alien lifeform, that is more than enough to call it a ripoff, if both films were produced with little time between them. Also starring an antagonist Alien, that is more than enough. It must not have the same setting, sound and overall story to be a ripoff.. It is the idea alone in first place to make an alien movie, right after the Alien movie screened, a short while after the first part or Aliens (second part) they made that movie from your list with having an alien in mind. The idea itself was here the ripoff !!
"The Intruder" ends with a twist; the killer is the store manager who, with his dying breath, throws the survivors under the bus when the police arrive.
Mmff.kinda like that "lost" horror /sci-fi post i just seen .Lost...yea ,like my keys i found the next day.Abandoned, like these films are now in the P.D.? ..they lost the rights ,or just abandoned the master prints at the city dump? All the directors took the name Alan Smithie, and rolled. Is this a Canadian channel?
I am wondering if maybe someone can help me look for the name of a cheesy movie i have seen a few times when i was a kid. The story had to do with aliens crashland a ship to earth, teenagers checked out what it was that dropped from the sky and the teens had been possessed by aliens and do some killing. Afterwards construction workers find their ship and the same teen possessed alien do more killings, but then a comic artist made some scenarios where teens had done killings including where one had his foot shot off and regenerated or grown into a hand instead of a foot. Near the end, alien that had possessed the artists girlfriend left her body to return to its ship and they both saw its ship leave earth and ended with hero in cape in a comic book close before credits of movie. (Any help to anyone who knows that story would be appreciatively thankful)
It was a tv movies or perhaps you call that mini series in USA 4 maybe 6 tv movies about 1h30min (more or less) , it is an alien (insectoïdes in me memories) which go inside people and use them as shape, whenhe is inside them he can reveal himself by showing full black eyes iris, which I remember because my iris are almost full black too ! It was in the 90’s probably the first half In my holed memories he would devore the mankind, it wasn’t very gore
InsidesOutChuck nope, it can’t be just one movie, it has several part, like a mini- serie but episodes as long as a movie (in my memories at least ) it wasn’t a big budget movies, pretty sure it was a direct to TV

"Nigh of the Comet" (1984), "Blood Diner" (1987), "Brain Damage" (1988) and "Dead Heat" (1988) also come to mind.
Just watched Dead Heat a few days ago! Love that movie!
@@thedanksavatron7782 It's a well-made horror comedy, for sure! Very '80s, very LA. :D
@@thedanksavatron7782 especially the remarkable Blood Diner! ❤️ that movie!
I love the intruder and some of the flicks on this list, watching 80's horror cheesy movies is one of the things I was born for
How does MV do it??? Always incredible content!!!
I like the glass-half-full aesthetic of the presentation. Smart stuff; well done!

Thanks Marvelous Videos for another great video. As mentioned, none of these titles are familiar to me, but it is great to learn about something new!!
I love discovering horror movies, especially these kind that have been over looked, i feel like a lot of good horror movies are hidden under the radar because of todays standards for horror being mostly jumpscares and loud noises, we still get good ones occasionally though!
We really need a video dedicated to doppelgangers in cinema and series. There are several lost gems over there.
The VHS cover for the Kindred was really memorable.
Now coming out in Blu ray soon
'Abandoned' - makes them sound like a box of 'free kittens'.
this made me want to watch "Meet the Applegates" I loved that movie, cheezey and far too adult for the child I was when I watched it a millions times. All I had to see was the giant Praying Mantis and I was reminded of it
Yeah I love movies like those one's Man!😉
Keep dropping these videos and i'll keep watching.👍
Thank you! 🙏
I love your movie lists. ♥️♥️
you should post a video or links to these great thumbnail artworks..
im sure some people would appreciate that ;-)
This thumbnail is from the poster for Intruder(1989). Some of the others are posters, or alternate posters, while others have been combos of images of characters and a title.
The killer looks like the maniac from Slumber Party Massacre.
Intruder is great btw.
Although I wouldn’t recommend all of these movies, I would recommend Intruder to any slasher fan. Sam Raimi is in it, and helped get it made, and they pull off a really fun movie on half a shoestring of a budget.
Ah...that explains why his brother Ted is the guy getting his skull split with a carving knife and strung up on a meat hook ;)
Some of my favorite kills in Intruder.
Intruder is definitely an amazing 80’s slasher.
i always come here to learn more good old movies to watch
seen half of those when they first came out on VHS. Thanks, the ones I haven't seen I'll have go on the look out for
I found Pop's secret stash thought it was porn, turned out to be horror b-rated movies🤣
Same directors.
I love the Kindred! I hunted this movie down on lasterdisc ... I'm still hoping to it will someday come out on blueray. I'll settle for dvd.
@Robin Stiff I wish!
Good luck. Synapse is supposedly working on it. I've been emailing them on and off for over a year. They keep telling me soon. I think their idea of soon is much different from mine
Ever heard of Eat and Run (1987) ??
What about The Return of the Living Dead. Now that was a great Action-Horror-Comedy- Adventure. Frankenhooker was kind of fun also.
I wouldn't call that a B movie though. In fact, it's one of the best zombie movies of all time.
Its so mainstream and a big budget movie.
2:20 this is where they got the idea for the first boss in Splatterhouse 2.
Check out Evil Ed, its on Prime! So good, I never returned the VHS.

I saw There's Nothing Out There at Dragon*Con, way back in the 90's. The best scene is the one with the boom mic.

Flesheater
I loved The Guyver 1 & 2. Also Children of the Night
I've been waiting for The Kindred to come to bluray for literally years. I'm starting to give up hope

Super description! Thanks!
Anyone else notice there are only 9, not 10 movies? Must be that new math my kids are trying to teach me.
Chucky
Wasn't "Intruder " changed to "Chopping Mall" when it was re-release?
No Chopping Mall was a completely different movie about robot security guards in a shopping mall
No, the original title to Chopping Mall was Killbots!
What! No "Monster in the Closet"? For shame MV. For shame!
Deadline spawn reminds me of the cult classic xtro
