Torrential rain hit many areas in Assam and Manipur on Wednesday following Cyclone Remal. Waterlogging, flood-like situations, and landslides affected normal life. Road connectivity, power, and communication facilities were disrupted, and people in many areas were moved to safer places.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 41,000 people in 8 districts of Assam have been affected by floods, and one person died, while two others are missing.
Three districts in Barak Valley and Dima Hasao experienced heavy rain and thunderstorms, causing the Barak River and its tributaries to flow above the danger level.
