Billy Idol, My brother just died yesterday. Mony Mony was one of his favorite songs, particularly to dance to. Thank you for making music that my brother enjoyed.
My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥❤👃
The most iconic recording of this 1980’s version of “Mony! Mony!”. In my opinion, Billy Idols’ version is the definitive version of this 1968 classic. It’s a great rock music 🎶 single performed by a legendary international ROCKER!!!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸
The best music of all time was the eighties. The best music in the eighties was the mid-eighties. The best musician of the mid-eighties was Billy Idol. Billy Idol FOREVER! ❤💪👍Greetings from AivalsoniC
I disagree. For me, the best (popular) music of the 20th century was made in the 60s and 70s. The best musicians of any time is completely subjective. I really _really_ disliked the 80s (music, film, fashion, politics, culture) but thought that the best music of the decade came out during 1980 to 1983. For the rest of the decade, my favourite artists were underground/indie. However, I do agree with your _"Billy Idol FOREVER"_ comment! I thought that he was one of the few mainstream artists in the 80s (ones having hits) who made me smile.
I think this is the strongest line-up Billy ever had. Steve on guitar, Kenny on bass, Judy on keys and Thommy on drums. Musically, visually, and sonically this band had it all.
saw him last month at a corporate gig. Unlike all the other bands I have seen that do these, he played his ass off, so did Steve and all the rest. Was great! Thanks!
Any time I see Steve Stevens I instantly hear his name in my head like it was being said by a ring announcer. "And introducing STEEEVVVVE STEVEEEEEEEEENNNNSSS!" I have no idea why, I just know that he rocks.
Great song!!! It was 1968, I was in Pittsburgh Pa when I attended a concert featuring Tommy James and the Shondells who rocked this song on stage. Billy Idol's later version is great too!!

I was not born until 1987. But I am glad I had older relatives who played this kind of music for me. I am glad to know what real music without autotune sounds like.
Saw Billy Idol live at The Cow Palace in San Francisco on May 11th, 1987 with The Cult as opening band.....BEST DAMN CONCERT OF MY LIFE!! So glad to have been a teenager in the 80's!!
@Victorcanuckk I saw him July 5th 1991 at the Loews State theatre in New Orleans, by that time the song has been off the charts for some time but was still well-known and getting heavy radio play interesting because of this being originally by Tommy James and the Shondells, it was a double bill with Billy Idol as well as REM, who of course covered Dragging the Line Beck opened for them.
The backup vocals on this song are so simple but excellent. The performance and mixing of the different parts is really great for such a punchy and powerful song. It's like a sound chariot that Billy Idol is piloting. Pretty awesome

where was this concert at? my sister was there too, somewhere near the front middle. And also stayed after the concert to be in the video.
I WISH I would have been there! When and where was it?
I feel like I was there too..the truth is always so concise
Eyes without face
I'm so jealous.. this looks like it was amazing!
I first rocked with Tommy James and the Shondells, playing this at a concert in Detroit, summer of 1969..this was #1 hit.thanks Billy I.
Billy and Tommy knew each other and had played together
This should have waaaayyyy more likes. A Classic in Music History, Time & Space.
Billy Idol,
My brother just died yesterday. Mony Mony was one of his favorite songs, particularly to dance to. Thank you for making music that my brother enjoyed.
Sorry for your loss, your brother is smiling down on you while listening to this song! Much love
soccer, sorry to hear about ur loss. Ur brother had a good ear for talent.
Only one to play it for him, LOUD, any other way just would not be right!

I was lucky enough to see Billy twice live. Man is he ever the showman. He was absolutely incredible, and still is.
"... I said mony, mony.... yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...." ❤️lml
Billy did good mixes of punk rock with soft dance in '80 👍
best punker Billy Idol
Legend Forever Mr. Billy Idol!!!...😜🤘🤘💯💯
I'm so thankful that Idol re-released this cover so I could hear it in the late '80s. This concert version slaps!

Mony Mony explosive and hard to the core. Thanks Billy Idol
Nothing makes me turn up the volume faster than this song ❤
The golden age of the music it's still alive!!!
You know why? Because I won’t let it die.
I saw Billy Idol concert live in Chicago It was in the late 80's and it was Awesome💯👍
Nice. Im 17 so i didnt get to live in tbe 80s
I was there in Florida when this was filmed!!! Billy was GREAT!!!
STEVE ROCKED IT TOO!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think this is the strongest line-up Billy ever had. Steve on guitar, Kenny on bass, Judy on keys and Thommy on drums. Musically, visually, and sonically this band had it all.
Pure magic 69 yrs old can still rock to this legend xx
Susie Davis on keys, Judi was before her
@@paulcowan8023 yes Susie Davis played Keys and did Back up vocals for Belinda Carlisle on Belinda Live during the Good Heavens tour 88-89.;
Steve Stevens is BADASSERY!!
Absolutely..Couldn't agree more
this song is amazing 👍🏻

Best version ever - totally wipes the floor with his studio version and the original too. That keyboard player is hot as f@#k too !
I regret not being alive in the 80s because I missed the best of music and Billy Idol.

Billy Idol, what a performer is supposed to do!!!!🎸
Billy idol made an incredible job of covering this song in August '81
1981 was such a fantastic year for music 🎶 🎵 🙌 ❤️
Gefällt mir sehr gut. Sehr gute Mucke.Erinnert mich an meine Jugendzeit.
Johnny Lawrence is a god to me. He's why I dedicated my life to karate!🥋
Billy’s the ultimate showman .. he owns the stage .. always so sexy and fiery 🔥🔥☄️
This is what happens when an artist takes a cover and makes it his own. So glad I was teen in the 80's!
He put on a great show in concert!!!
Especially with Steve Stevens
This song makes me feel instantly happy. Saw Billy in '90 and he put on a fantastic show!! His band was SO good.
Great song!!! It was 1968, I was in Pittsburgh Pa when I attended a concert featuring Tommy James and the Shondells who rocked this song on stage. Billy Idol's later version is great too!!
Yeah, I just found that" 45' by Tommy James in my mother's basement!
The '80s... rock's golden age - and NOTHING to compare with it today.
It was written and done in the late 60s originally by Tommy James and 4:16 the Shondells
sad fact unfortunately music today lacks charisma
This version is rarely played on the radio, I find it the better version as it rocks harder than the studio version.
It's the opposite here, I'm much more likely to hear this live version than the studio version!
Both are amazing
Is it just me or did this single really go Platinum yet alone the album go Multi-Platinum in the goddam 80's?!?!.. Wow, what an Era!!! ☺️👌😉
#1 hit for
Billy⚡
The energy in this live version is so intoxicating.
Steve Stevens, one of the most under appreciated guitarists of all time!!
Guitarists know that Stevens is a monster.
For Real!!
Don't worry ... he's in the " guitar god " section 100 % !!!
He's only under appreciated by non guitarists. We all love him🤘🤘

Grew up listening 80's music - it is now 2024 - and it's still the BEST rock 'n roll!!!!
This is truly one the best live performances of a song. The combination of Billy Idol-Steve Stevens is unbeatable in era of 1980s' punk.
Punk rock😎
Ummm, this is so not Punk Rock. About the same equivalence of calling Cyndi Lauper a Punk Rocker.80's Pop Rock yea, but definately not Punk Rock
Next you'll be saying Rod Stewart is Punk from his spikey hairdo
😊 this song still rocks, regardless of the songs today!
Hot dang, that man could sing!!
