THERE IS NO COMPUTERS FOR 700R4, IT'S A VACUUM OVER ELECTRIC SWITCH THAT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS TORQUE CONVERTER...
ALSO TH350C, 2004R, AND 700R4 USE SAME TYPE OF SWITCH...
THERES ALSO A CABLE THAT CONNECTS TO YOUR THROTTLE LINKAGE, IF THESE ARE NOT DONE CORRECTLY YOU WILL BURN OUT YOUR TRANNY...
You are correct. This video was to be short and sweet only explaining the wiring as it was one of my first video's. I should have mentioned not to get ride of the detent cable and vacuum line.

People won't understand when they try to stop and tcc stays locked up...

Just to be clear, I have a 200R4 (1984 date) transmission that is behind a 305 engine that will not be computer controlled. Same procedure (switched source wire, splice other 2 together)? I have seen other videos where the pan is dropped and additional parts are added.
Early models do require more work i will do a video on that soon but check your bossing for external pressure switch to be sure

GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU FROM WATCHING YOUR VIDEO WITH OUT THE COMPUTER HOW WOULD IT NO WHEN TO ENGAGE AND TO CUT OFF
its got a 4th gear pressure switch that grounds when in 4th gear. if you have the switch on, it will go into lock up. if its off, it wont. when you downshift from 4th gear, the 4th gear switch is no longer pressurized, so it unlocks the torque converter.
Does this work on all cars that used too be tpi? Cause i got a 87 camaro i carb swaped. I did this and it only locks up in 2-3 and not 4th. It has pressure ports in the side. Think id need a 1 wire solenoid too make it work?

Hook to ignition switch wire. Switched power.

hey got a question for you i have 1990 k5 blazer 700r4 trans.I THINK IT IS A 4L60.i just rebuild my engine and did lot of up grades i converted it over from tbi to carb so i no with out my computer i wont have no converter lock up ..so what u suggest would be the right converter lockup kit to buy i dont want to drive my truck with out it ..i no my trans may it hot with out it..let me know thanks..appreciate it..
just do what he shows in this vid. his trans is a late model 700r4/4l60(non e)

That means the wire only has 12 volts when the key is switched to the on position

Run it to a powered switch and turn on as needed.

The company that built my 2004R has me using this set up with a toggle switch. I’m finding that it is either slow or unable to come out of lock up. I’m running a 383 with aggressive cam

the lock up solenoid may need to be replaced with a solenoid that has a heavier spring
Also I'd check your TV cable adjustment that causes some issues also if it's to far out of adjustment it can eventually murder your transmission I'm planning on using a toggle on my 200 4R my MC is just now getting to where I'll be able to drive it finally after 2 frigging years 😆

hey 1990 k5 blazer with the 700r4 i converted from tbi to carb so i dont have the computer for lock up anymore...so i hook a toggle switch up with the 3 wires from my pig tail plug do i leave my switch on at all times or will i mess up something if i dont shut it off when im at a low soeed...i appreciate your feedback.....

12v ign power to one side of switch, 12v out other side of switch to the 12 wire on the 700r4, then connect the two he said to. normally open switch will have the lockup off until you want it on and flip the switch. if you are slowing down, turn off the lockup or your car is gonna shudder and shake like a manual at low speed in gear.

No the 93 was considered a 4l60 by 93 the tcc lock up circuit is different! As is mentioned by tci in there 700r4/2004r lock up kit instructions manual.

No it wouldn’t

Locks up the converter so it's direct drive and not slipping.

@@nogoogle6349if you put it on your ignition switch it locks up all gears. This is good on a lighter car, but a heavier car it can cause low idle and stalling in first gear. I used a momentary switch on my shifter so it only makes contact when I put it in overdrive. You can also wire it to a brake switch so that when you press the brakes the lockup turns off.

^^^ what he said lol make sure your TV cable is adjusted correctly too, it can murder parts if to far out of adjustment for to long.
