Lost my only sibling; my brother, to suicide in 2007. He was 39. He used his prescribed drugs and strong alcohol. I am Autistic with 2 Autistic sons and have been educated in suicide prevention for many years now. This is timely and well appreciated. TY.😇
Thank you for your feedback and sorry for your loss. I have a family member with autism and that struggle is very real as well. I'd love to do a video on that but I don't know nearly enough about it to do it justice. All the best.
I'm sorry you lost you brother. I lost my brother Jay in 2007 also (2/26/2007). I then lost my Dad to suicide in 2016. I'm crushed that they're gone & no will never get over that. I just saw your comment as I was watching a depression/suicide video on UA-cam. I'm sorry for the loss of your brother & I sincerely mean that.
Problem is nobody knows how to listen. Those who practice “active listening” seems to be about the lowest level “3” taught in the FBI Hostage Negotiators 5 levels of listening. See also Chris Voss…
I'd love to disagree with you, but I can't. One of the things I love about Motivational Interviewing is that they take the pressure off for you to have "the perfect response", which then frees you up to just listen all the way through. Listening and particularly validation are higher hills to climb than they look. Thanks for watching and I will check out Chris Voss. I kid my wife that you could just do a counseling private practice for couples where you have one partner say something and the other has to repeat it back exactly. We spent 3 sessions with one couple trying to get them to actually listen to each other without distorting what the other person said or missing something.

Thanks for posting this. There’s older information on UA-cam so it’s great to see something recent for 2022
I'm very passionate about this topic. Guessing a new one will come out every 2 years as the newer data comes out. I appreciate the comment.
Simply outstanding. Thank you very much Mr. Kinter.
Thank you for this
You're welcome!
