2nd the huskys. I’ve been in several other people’s vehicles with WTs, and they offer too little friction. The huskys are softer, remain flexible, don’t get plasticy and curl. I have them in 2 current vehicles for the past 5 years, front and back, one with the contour fit or whatever, and one with the regular huskys. No complaints on either set. Some of the comparison “tests” on this video are ridiculous. How difficult is it to pull the label off? Not on my list of concerns. The huskys are nice and stay in place even if you don’t have a floor hook. The WTs feel like work truck floor liners.
David Sanchez the contours are more plush/softer/flexible feeling than the standard huskys, and would highly recommend them if they’re available for your vehicle. But the regular huskys are still very nice and have really aggressive “spikes” to grip the carpet and stay in place very well, and still offer good friction for your feet. Both clean up easily with some simple green or similar all purpose cleaner to remove the winter salt. Not sure what the price difference between them is these days but if you can swing the extra few bucks and they’re available for your application, the contours are definitely top of the line, as far as rubber floor mats goes anyway 🍻
@David Sanchez i have a pair of husky's in my Tacoma. they're okay, the driver side matt was molded incorrectly or it got bent in shipping and doesnt sit right, the emblem fell off. and they gave me a hard time about giving me a new one when i called them on the molding. Wonderful thorough review! I've got weathertech on my SUV and small car. It has the best fit by far. It literally looks like it's part of the car. I never take the mat off with liquid. I simply dab it with a paper towel or rag before removing it. That basically eliminates any risk of spillage.

My mom put Weathertechs in her Rogue and I put Huskys in my Tacoma. I much prefer the non-slip quiet rubbery style to the Weathertech's more plasticky sound and slippery feel.
Opposite for me. I prefer the softer Huskies. The WeatherTech I had in the rear of my F-150 was awful, curled up along the edges within a year, but looks like they have changed the design since then.
I had weather tech liners in my last ram 1500. they were badly stained after 3 winters. I just bought husky liners. So far the husky liners are starting to lose their stickers. I'll update on how they clean up compared to the weather tech.
I’ve had both liners and actually prefer the husky. The weather techs were a bear to clean (they were a tan color and you can still see the dirt after I scrubbed)
One complaint I hear about the WT compared to the husky is that the WTs edges near the door sill curl after extended use from getting in and out and catching your foot
Both are great floor mats. I own both and only slightly prefer the Husky's due to them not being as slick when wet because they are a rubber instead of a plastic. Otherwise both are exceptional.
Guy sounded biased against Husky Liners from the start. I've used Husky liners in 5 vehicles without issue since early 2000. Never wore thru and protected my carpet. I was never crazy about the Weather Tech brand, I always felt it was just a knock-off of Husky. Not sure how your going to end up with all that water in your floor mat. If that happens you have more issue than a floor mat can help you with.
I kind of thought so too. I don't see calling the Husky Liners flimsy. They're soft because they're more rubbery and the weathertech are more plasticy. I have both and like both but I like the Husky better. They're more comfortable under your feet and the aren't gray looking after you clean them.
@@dwf150101 - thought it was funny how the weather tech is supposed to have a huge area to hold the water...where the open hole is to attach to the factory anchor...HAHAHAHA. The Husky doesn't have a hole where the anchor fits.
I had one husky that was worn through on the driver's side where the heel of the shoe rested. Husky sent me a brand new one with just a photograph required. I wish they make these for my wife's new car.
I just bought a set of WT and they no longer have the cheesy logo on them. This will be my 2 nd set as I purchased a new truck. The one thing I have to say is the WT fit perfect. It looks like WT upgraded their floor liners from the 1st set I bought. I had the WT in my first truck for 11 years with no problems. The only down size to WT is it does feel more like a work truck due to the harder plastic they use. Husky uses more of a rubber that cuts down on the noise. It’s totally up to the consumer but I give WT a slight advantage for the tight fit of the floor mats.
Both weather tech and Husky floor liners are great. I have weathertechs in my 17 Tacoma and Husky in my 13 Tacoma. I personally do slightly prefer the added grip of the softer rubber on the husky liners, but honestly I could go either way with these. When choosing between husky and weathertech. I just choose the ones that I can get the fastest at the time. No other comparison need be made in my opinion as they are both just great liners.
Either of these mats would be a one time purchase, maybe twice if you keep the ride long enough. If you prefer one over the other, it makes better sense that you buy that one, regardless of whether it takes longer to arrive. You're gonna live with these a long time- get what you like.
I have run husky liners in my truck since i bought it and do find them too hold up quite well to daily use and abuse. My girlfriend runs the weather techs in her truck and between the two i personally will take the husky liners because i notice my girlfriends mats tend too slide around a fair bit more but overall they are both good mats and you can’t go wrong either way
Husky Contour mats are great, if they make them for you vehicle I highly recommend them. The rubber texture makes them less slippery when getting in to the car with snow or mud on your shoes/boots. They are a little harder to clean but they are floor mats, who cares. Weathertechs are ok, but usually $30ish more than the Husky, which can be found on sale quite often.
Great review bro. I think I’ll get the Husky for the driver side ( more comfortable and grippy on carpet ), an the Weathertech for the passenger side. Wifey has enough grip.
Personally I choose the husky liners because they are softer and more rubber like which contours better. Also I wanted the little spikes on the bottom to help aid in the mats not sliding around.
Just ordered a set of huskys. ive had weather tech in my other vehicles and they look like they will fix most the issues i see with weathertech... mainly very slippery when wet, liner tends to move around when getting in and out, and the edges always curl over time causing dirt to just get under them.
I have a medium tan color Weather Tech. The fit is great. I do find I have to use a brush to scrub the dirt out of the fine grain that is molded into the plastic. It won't just rinse off.
Just out of curiosity could anchors be added to that jeep? I once had a Honda Element that did not come with a carpet or any type of floor mat but they could be optioned. And there is an anchor installation kit forthe Honda Element for adding floor mats.
I have the Weathertech Mats for a few winters and I cannot get them cleaned it’s like the mud bonds with the material. I have tried quite a few cleaners and they never come clean. Maybe the mud is different up here in Calgary Canada?
@@JamesWilliams-wy5oj Must be a new thing with the Huskys then. I have had a set of them in my 2004 Silverado since sometime in 2005 and the driver side (I hardly ever have passengers for that side to get use) slipped/slips all the time. It actually slipped up far enough that it permanently creased itself.
i have weather tech currently but think i am going to try husky next time. Weathertech mats are very hard, which is good for durable, but not so good for removing the matts or feel. I think a softer material would be more attractive. Is what i would like to see is a company put carpet in the middle of these mats like the Ram Limiteds have. Then we get a more luxury mat with ultimate protection
If your ride gets stuck in snow or mud, a floor mat pushed under the front edge of the tires that are spinning might provide enough traction to bring the tire forward out of the problem area. Looks like the Husky is more likely to provide the traction that might get you unstuck.
yeah I agree with you whethertech are very good mats I had them in my previous car and was very satisfied but I bought the Huskies this time because they were literally like 60 bucks cheaper I got the front mats and the rear mats for $136 after taxes & free shipping. They all seem pretty legit imo??
@@honda116969 I was shopping for matts and saw the price of the WT price and bought some Husky matts for half the price and have had them for 2-3 years and they have held up great.
@@MrTimdtoolman1 right on! I love mine. Makes cleaning the floor so easy. I have dogs so it's hard to vacuum the hair out of the carpet but it's so easy off of the husky floor mats.
I wish I can add photo here, but this is the problem with Weathertech. Because the side are taller and what its made out of, its not keeping straight line up top. It goes wave and sometimes catches my foot when Im about to use gas pedal. I kind of have to push it to the side away from gas pedal
I will go with made in USA, a Weather Tech, kind of pricey but it covers back mid tunnel and the driver's side pedal part of floor, plus it feats snugly.
@@OhPhuckYou I saw a commercial for WT on Fox and it is a factory tour, people-us Americans, serious machinery, smiles... convincing! also ( I've had a Husky combo screw driver that served for years, on long haul truck driving- repairs, and believe the liners are of high quality too..)
@@stickom I love my WeatherBeater liners. Made in my home state of Kansas, durable, fit perfectly, they're not super slippery like WT, dosent slide around in the foot well and easier to take out and clean. Also Husky liners usuall have sales. I got mine $60 cheeper than WT.
It’s preference. I started with WT. They were good. I just got tired of it slightly shifting, and the sound they’d make as I shuffled my feet around. My husky’s don’t do that. Plus if I have a toolbox in my passenger footwell, it barely moves on the husky, but slid all around on the WT’s. I think the WT’s would last longer. But the Husky rubber is a solid product. You’re basically getting the best of both worlds….a pretty decent shaped fit like WT, but tried and true rubber like 95% of other all weather mats.
Weathertech for me on my 2018 Toyota Tundra I have the Silver Sky color and wanted to match the interior floorliners with the color of my truck and weathertech gave me the option of grey digitalfit series which makes my interior stand out more and I checked out huskys as well and there options were really limited and the only color they had was black so thats what made my decision. also they are easy to clean and offer alot of protection they are more on the plastic side and need a lil breaking in overall im happy with them just save your recepits so you can claim there warranty just in case.
Owned WeatherTech for years... and was lamenting high price... well worth it. My only recommendation would be to add objective measurements to tests... how much force on the screwdriver... how much effort in lbs went in the tearing... how subjective is the application of force? assuming it was impartial, there's no competition.
I have Weather Tech in my two trucks and have had two or three sets in previous trucks. I’m prettty happy with them but they do get a little ugly after a couple years hard use. Little more pricey than others but they do protect well. I always remove them in summer except for the camp truck. Bought a new Acadia and I’m looking at GMC OEM premium floor mats. They seem really great and there is a 20% off sale direct from GM through May. Between Weather Tech and Husky I do prefer Weather Tech.
Are you sure it is brake cleaner and not brake fluid? We used to use brake fluid to shine our tires up way back in the day. JB weld will fix the emblem problem too.
What would be a good idea to add to this video, an update.... Is how they age. Because over time, dirt can get into the plastic and make any mat fade it a brown dirt/mud color as my gray wheathertech mats did.
Great real world test! My kids are always putting mentos in coke, stabbing and burning my floor mats! My 10 year old is always stealing my Raptor and doing donuts on my mats. Is there a special Raptor tire that won't cause any damage to floor mats? That would be a hell of a product! Cool channel, I really enjoy watching!!
I've used Weather Techs on several vehicles and liked them until I got a set for my last truck a 2012 Ram 1500 Quad cab. When I took them out of the box I noticed them to be out of shape. When I installed them they did not sit flat like they were suppose to. They curled up on several edges. I took pictures and sent it to Weather Tech. They replaced the rear liner because it looked the worst. However the new ones were not much better. They too were somewhat curled. I think the problem is in how the package them up and ship them. For my 2019 Ram 1500 Quad cab I went with the Husky's. A night and day difference in fit and trim. They fit like a glove. And they were better packaged. The price was better also. Won't go back to Weather Tech.
I tried Husky but they didn't last. I put a boot hole through the soft rubber. WeatherTech is the best and never had one fair (154,000 miles and going strong!)
only thing which matter is how they look after DRY when you wash, and you did not cover that. My weathertek mats were black but not anymore and become grayish and seems always dirty. Tried different recommended cleaning materials but no luck.
I will never spend my money on Weather Tech again! Bought a complete set for my 2015 GMC Denali, and the passenger side front kept folding over after time. Contacted them and they told me to use a hair dryer and form it back. Well geniuses, it always folds back over when it gets hot in the truck! They never offered my money back or to replace the mat, so they will not get my hard earned money ever again!! Just got a 2020 Chevy 2500 High Country D-Max and guess which floor liners are going in? Yup, Husky!!
With carpet, you won't hear the WeatherTech beating against the floor pan. I have WeatherTech's in my truck and Husky's in my car. They're both very good products and you can't really go wrong with either. I do like how the Husky's cover the carpet hook as I've gotten some mud stains around the carpet hook opening on the WeatherTech's.
Would have been nice if there was a way to compare how they survive when constantly exposed to salt/liquid chloride. Dept of transportation loves to saturate the roads in the winter by me with this nasty solution. I have found that after a few winters, my weather tech liners are faded and don;t clean up as well. Also, the stickers came off after 2 seasons (not a big deal, i'm not a fan of the large weather tec logos...Also, the lack of a plug or cover for the anchor point always annoyed me as that white chloride always found its way to the carpet from that anchor area..

the foot noise on the weather tech is the deciding factor for me, so going Husky!
Same here
Noise is definitely my priority because this is a car and not a truck, and I hope the two hooks on my toyota matrix will grip well on the Huskys.
My mom put Weathertechs in her Rogue and I put Huskys in my Tacoma. I much prefer the non-slip quiet rubbery style to the Weathertech's more plasticky sound and slippery feel.
I think I have a solution for removing wet liners from the vehicles. You take the sponge, soak the liquids and remove liner without spilling anything.
Bogdan Dakonovic exactly I’m looking at this guy like who the hell try to remove it with a quart of water on me
@@matthewmontalvo5066 Shop-vac
I've run them both and kinda like the Weather Techs more.
Theyre both great!
I have both. For me the Huskys clean up a lot better. My weathertechs always look grayish after I scrub them unless I put dressing on them after.
Yeah they do. Husky are better as heat will soften them and gravity keeps them formed to your car
@@russellpickett2689 So when your accelerator gets stuck good luck filing an insurance claim 🤣
My uncle has had huskys in his 91 chevy ever since I can remember, still going strong
My Husky/ WT choice was made when Husky went on 20 percent off sale. Like the Husky a lot.
I had one husky that was worn through on the driver's side where the heel of the shoe rested. Husky sent me a brand new one with just a photograph required.
I wish they make these for my wife's new car.
Deciding between the weather tech and husky for 2014 Honda accord sport. I live in south florida and the heat brutal.
I've had the husky liners for 10months.... love them, zero issues
@@satulytman Jesus loves you
I have run husky liners in my truck since i bought it and do find them too hold up quite well to daily use and abuse.
I went with husky and couldn't be happier. $110 compared to $215 it was an easy choice.
Great review bro. I think I’ll get the Husky for the driver side ( more comfortable and grippy on carpet ), an the Weathertech for the passenger side. Wifey has enough grip.
I had Weathertech on my other car and I find very hard to not spill water in the car when trying to remove.
The black/white infomercial bit was 🔥😂
I have a medium tan color Weather Tech. The fit is great. I do find I have to use a brush to scrub the dirt out of the fine grain that is molded into the plastic. It won't just rinse off.
I have the WeatherTech, easy to clean, dries very fast, I don’t ever think about them. Easy to wipe down without removing them too.
Just out of curiosity could anchors be added to that jeep? I once had a Honda Element that did not come with a carpet or any type of floor mat but they could be optioned. And there is an anchor installation kit forthe Honda Element for adding floor mats.
I still have my weather tech 10 years old and they still look like new after I get them wash, best investment so far.
Awesome!
Mine are stained brown from mud but they don’t have scratches in them and are in good shape otherwise
I have the Weathertech Mats for a few winters and I cannot get them cleaned it’s like the mud bonds with the material. I have tried quite a few cleaners and they never come clean. Maybe the mud is different up here in Calgary Canada?
Oh no!
Prefer husky
Wt tend to curl and just dont feel as substantial
I’ve had them in two vehicles and they do tend to curl and don’t fit right after a while.
WT very plastic, slid up and then create a gap or curl, way to slippery, Husky more rubbery and don't slide around.
@@JamesWilliams-wy5oj Must be a new thing with the Huskys then. I have had a set of them in my 2004 Silverado since sometime in 2005 and the driver side (I hardly ever have passengers for that side to get use) slipped/slips all the time. It actually slipped up far enough that it permanently creased itself.
the noise from the weather tech isn't as noticeable when there is carpet down there I love mine they do great to keep my new car clean
Team Weathertech, all day, everyday.
💪🏼😎👍🏻
i have weather tech currently but think i am going to try husky next time. Weathertech mats are very hard, which is good for durable, but not so good for removing the matts or feel. I think a softer material would be more attractive. Is what i would like to see is a company put carpet in the middle of these mats like the Ram Limiteds have. Then we get a more luxury mat with ultimate protection
Idk what the hell the burnout test was supposed to prove but it needs to be a standard test for everything and anything
We did it for accurate science purposes 😆
If your ride gets stuck in snow or mud, a floor mat pushed under the front edge of the tires that are spinning might provide enough traction to bring the tire forward out of the problem area. Looks like the Husky is more likely to provide the traction that might get you unstuck.
Yep, i have got myself unstuck from my snowy and icy driveway many times by tossing the mat under a wheel
I have weather tech in all my vehicles. Best mats ever
they are great quality mats.
yeah I agree with you whethertech are very good mats I had them in my previous car and was very satisfied but I bought the Huskies this time because they were literally like 60 bucks cheaper I got the front mats and the rear mats for $136 after taxes & free shipping.
@@honda116969 60 bucks is nothing if you're supporting American-made.
Thank you. Thinking I'll go with Husky for my '07 Honda CR-V. The rubbery, non-slick surface seems like it would be more comfortable.
I wish I can add photo here, but this is the problem with Weathertech. Because the side are taller and what its made out of, its not keeping straight line up top. It goes wave and sometimes catches my foot when Im about to use gas pedal. I kind of have to push it to the side away from gas pedal
Really like the husky liner. the weather tech are really slipper when wet, I never had any of that with HUSKY.
2ns day with my husky liners and yes. They aren't slippery when wet. Which is perfect for NY weather
And made in Winfield Kansas!
I will go with made in USA, a Weather Tech, kind of pricey but it covers back mid tunnel and the driver's side pedal part of floor, plus it feats snugly.
Husky is mad in Winfield Kansas. Both are American made.
Both are great products. I've had both. The Weather techs make it harder to remove dirt as you can brush them and they never look spotless.
Why did you guys choose the rubber huskys and not the plastic types?
Owned WeatherTech for years... and was lamenting high price... well worth it. My only recommendation would be to add objective measurements to tests... how much force on the screwdriver... how much effort in lbs went in the tearing... how subjective is the application of force? assuming it was impartial, there's no competition.
These liners fits on Jeep Liberty 2006?
I have Weather Tech in my two trucks and have had two or three sets in previous trucks. I’m prettty happy with them but they do get a little ugly after a couple years hard use. Little more pricey than others but they do protect well. I always remove them in summer except for the camp truck. Bought a new Acadia and I’m looking at GMC OEM premium floor mats. They seem really great and there is a 20% off sale direct from GM through May. Between Weather Tech and Husky I do prefer Weather Tech.
I love my Husky!! I I have them in the front and back of my 2018 Nissan Titan!!!💜💜💜
Love the burnout test. I have used floormats in a pinch for myself or randomly encountered neighbors who are stuck in the snow.
I've had both. Now l go with the huskys. Better fit, less expensive, look good.
Where are Husky Liners made?
very nice video, thanks for your help. you really went in depth with the tests.
I look at slipping. The husky has grip and the weather tech dont. So would either be slippery?
I live in a desert area where it's above 110F in the summer everyday. Which one do you think is better for my area? Thank you.
I just ordered the husky because I’m tired of the weathertech warping at the edges.
Whoops, muscle man ripped it with bare hands. You guys are a lot of fun!
2:37 why did he just spill the water even more 😂😂
What about us up north, are they flexible, hard as a rock? Do they perform just as well?
I have used both in the northern cold states and they both perform well the husky stays a bit more flexible then the weathertech
I tried Husky but they didn't last. I put a boot hole through the soft rubber. WeatherTech is the best and never had one fair (154,000 miles and going strong!)
Try a Lasfit floor liner and see if they are as good or better. I tried them and I am very pleased.
only thing which matter is how they look after DRY when you wash, and you did not cover that. My weathertek mats were black but not anymore and become grayish and seems always dirty. Tried different recommended cleaning materials but no luck.
A3DView4U ENT armor all will bring the color back
@@ryunhogan8814 not advisable as it adds slickness. Mild dish soap and warm water works
I have Weather Techs and love them, very easy to clean.
When he threw the Husky after the burnout, he reminded me of Kevin James. 😂
I have weathertech in my f250 for 9 years now and they are still fine except curling or warped.
And this is problematic if it curls over your accelerator. It'd try to get a free replacement through the warranty of it covers it
Would have been nice if there was a way to compare how they survive when constantly exposed to salt/liquid chloride.
