Funny, I like how he describes the humor that is or was pervasive within the Marine Corps (I can't speak to other branches, perhaps they are similar) But when I was in, we had a large collection of typed pages full of non politically correct jokes, before I ever heard the stupid term- "politically correct ". We had a joke or two to offend each and every one in our company, if they didn't see one that applies to them, they needed to keep reading, we would pass the book of jokes around & a white guy might read a few jokes about the black guy or find one about Italians, then the black guy would grab the book & say that ain't that funny but let me tell you what is.... & he'd crack off a few jokes about white guys, women weren't off limits either. All the humor was meant to be Funny 😂 & no one took it personally, everyone laughed & no group was singled out. Not sure if that's changed in the 20 years I've been out, hopefully the Marines haven't caved to the insanity of our current culture. Where you can't even enjoy a good stereotype joke!

I'm an honorably discharged navy veteran. I went in right after nam and was Westpac during the first Iranian hostage crisis. I carried my Springfield Armory 1911 A-1 for many years doing security and assistance to law enforcement. Guns were my life in as much my father was a chief lieutenant and he kept a fully loaded M-1 carbine with 60 rounds good to go under his bed. I designed my first gun at age 9. My father was a jarhead. I was a loader on a three inch fifty..served in New London..big deal. Trained on the M-14 rifle..big deal. Guns were my life. I was wrong. How many more Americans have to die? More kids..another Vegas..Give the teachers guns! Give everyone a damn assault weapon..no. We need to rethink this country's NRA influenced position on such matters. Gunny served with our country with honors..true.He was.. as I was..a product of our environment. God bless him.Heck I used to love his shows. That was then. We live in this present world now with shooting after shooting like a short time back when a 9 year old boy shot his 13 year old sister to death with a .25 caliber pistol over a video game in Mississippi. I'm done with guns. If you want to take your little plastic Glock and make it into a false Austrian god..well think about it when you turn on the news day after day. Sad. These are not the good old days my friends: I never touched my father's guns without his oversight and permission and I never contemplated taking that fully automated M-1 Jungle carbine to my school and using it as a WMD. I gave up my guns as my dad did. He was marine. He's dying of cancer from the contaminated water from camp Lejeune. I lost so many friends and family at the VA and in the field of battle b it makes me puke. Either they died for a piece of rice...a grain of sand...agent Orange..or they just blew their brains out. More guns? Let's send a few tomahawks to Syria and kill people to save lives.Always Faithful. Nevermind about world war three. We have to...we have to..buy more guns from Austria and keep America great. SAD. look I understand Gunny was the official spokesman for Glock for 11 years. During those 11 years how many legally purchased Glocks killed Americans? Google "Glocks and gun violence" now. Or is that fake news?
