I just bought a used camera the exact same model from marketplace on FB yesterday for $150. Just need to practice photography using DSLR and I was surprised by the weight and I totally have no idea of how to operate this kind of cam. Thank you for keep making tutorial videos for the older cameras otherwise I would return it or resale it.
Hi David, when I’m in shutter priority the top screen doesn’t show the aperture and vice versa, what settings have I got wrong? Incredibly helpful videos, thankyou.
Hmm. I'm not sure because I don't think I can replicate that on mine. What kind of lens are you using? My gut tells me its a lens communication issue, but I could be wrong.
Hello. I just FOUND an identical camera, EOS1D Mark ll. It appears that it is a worthwhile unit and as a person with thousands of photos on my phone, I am over the top excited to have this camera. Question 1. What is the dollar value? 2. How does a person learn to take pictures? My insticts tell me the dizzying array of buttons and features will eventually seem basic and even limited. How to get started to learn this camera and basic photography settings.
Nice find! 1- a camera is worth either what you can sell it for or what it can do for you creatively or professionally 2- This video series is a good place to start. After that, just go take photos with it and learn from your mistakes.
For storage, I want to take the battery out - but that would leave the compartment open to dust. So, is it better to leave the battery in this camera (the compartment cover appears to be firmly attached to the battery)? The camera did not come with any other sort of compartment cover. Thank you for any advice.
@@DavidHancock I meant Streamlabs OBS for streaming!. I was thinking if it would be possible to have it as an output for stream via OBS to stream on twitch as a Webcam?
@@XoshaGamaka Got it. Thank you! Possibly but I'm not familiar with how to do that. It would come down to whether this camera can use the firewire (I think) port for live feeds from the sensor and I don't know if it can.

what is in your opinion the best vintage full frame camera? Regards from Chile. Good video as always David!
Hmm. There aren't a huge number of those, if you're talking digital (I assume so.) In that case I'd look at the Nikon D3.

How do you charge the battery you put into the camera because I have a charger but I’m there hole that goes into the battery for it
I used a wall charger for mine. I could not get the camera to charge the batteries when plugged in, and I'm not sure that it's meant to.
For the camera to take photos does it need both memory cards
Nope

I tended to leave the battery in mine except when charging.
@@DavidHancock Thank you very much.

Looks cool! Nice piece!!
Thank you! I enjoy using it a lot.
Great video a lot of help thanks 😊
Thank you!
Thanks for this great video. I now feel better about shooting photos with the one I inherited. I will try to see if I can use a 128 memory card in it.
Thank you!
Thanks 🙏 appreciate your videos very helpful
Thank you!
Can you video with it?
Video 1 covers that. I don't recall off the top of my head.
How can I stream on OBS with that? if u could make a tutorial on it.
Thanks.
I don't know what OBS is, but I don't recall this camera being usable for streaming out of the box.
