For context (those of you who don't know), you can change the difficulty of the game in your Options menu from Easy to Merciless, although there is one level of difficulty underneath being Safe. Haru's dad himself is a pushover. It's just the fact that he debuffs you constantly while buffing up the defense of one of his employees. Not to mention they self-destruct one at a time, and if they feel one is not on the field, then they all flee, causing him to summon more employees, so the trick is to defeat them all at once with AOE attacks. This part, I'm not angry. What I'm mad about is that it's on a fucking timer, and when that timer ends, it's Game Over.
I know we bust on Sae Niijima for being a professional prosecutor and saying shit like "Hm you must have had some durable shoes if you did it for that long you must have known a COBBLER" but has she EVER ONE TIME been wrong
It’s so funny that other people comment on sae doing that, cause during my whole playthrough I’ve cut to sae and for example I’d start to make a confidant rank with hifumi and it would cut forward. So I’d be like “wow, you must’ve been quite the strategist, YOU MUSTVE HAD A SHOGI PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM?!?” And turns out, the community also realized how funny it was for her to just cut to those realizations everytime you met a confidant 😂

Persona taught me that real friendship is when you meet someone, spend months slowly building a real bond, getting to know eachother and finding things out about eachother until eventually you either have sex or earn deep respect for eachother and then actively avoid ever seeing them again because there's no time and you already maxed out the friendship.
I think when the Phantom Thieves are questioning their actions. It’s not the morality of it, but whether or not their actions will get them in trouble with the wrong people.

Dear god this, especially on your first playthrough. On my second I had a bunch of spare time thanks to having my stats already maxed and made sure to do a couple hangouts with each of my teammates, but still.
IMO they should have made it so Rank 10 confidants can join you on events for other confidants. Like when you go help out the sun confidant "they man this is my best Pal Ryugi. Say hi Ryugi *Grrrrrrrrrrrr* down Ryugi bad boy. Sorry about that he's not good with adults" But seriously while making them that interactive would probably be too much why not just have them in the background to say "Hey my rank is max but taht's all the more reason I want to hang out with you". At the very least they should do this for a romance option

probably one of the suckiest game mechanics. Like you have 10 reviving items, all of your teammates' health and sp full and the moment he faints they are like "OH MY GOD! What do we do! Our fearless leader always held our hand! Let's Bail!"
I think the best part of Sae's whole spiel before you start confidants is the one she had for Akechi in Royal (dunno if its in vanilla) where she's like. "Someone must've been giving you police intel for you to have gotten so far without being arrested" and then you do Akechi's confidant and he doesn't give you intel at all because _why the fuck would he do that_
Hell *Akechi's the reason Jokers being interrogated to begin with* Not only did he not give you any intel, he effectively did the opposite of sorts by selling Joker to the police
Being fair, he doesn't sell you and the team to the big bad out to be immediately executed- primarily because of his hatred for the big bad, but still.

@@chipsleftwing In every palace, your threat level rises every time you fuck up something (retreating from fights, getting caught by security cameras, etc). If that threat level reaches 100%, you're kicked out of the palace and you can't go back until the next day, but Ohya lowers your threat level so that doesn't happen. The problem is that killing enemies lowers your threat level, so you'll NEVER get kicked out of a palace if you're good at a game. Because of this, Ohya's completely useless in vanilla P5.
Also I know 2:29 sounds like a joke….but that’s essentially what Sae says when you start Chihaya’s confidant (the fortune teller). I was like “girl…you really grasping for straws here”.

@@archetype6351 I enjoyed all of the palaces (except for Okumura's. The puzzles were fine but it was just so tedious), but it's hard to deny that each one is less interesting than the last until you get to the Casino which is like the best one in the game.
Kamoshida's Palace was a really great palace since you could see both the abuse and the effects of it first hand so you felt more connected to it, I will give him that, but all the palaces give enough substance. Also futaba's palace was incredible and a highlight of the story.

Airsoft guns have very strict regulations in Japan, im assuming Iwai's weapons have more than 0.98 joules of force. (Japan's current regulation for airsoft guns so they cannot be converted into a real firearm.) Plus the material they are made of is probably not fragile like its regulared to be. (Airsoft guns are regulated to be made of low melting point metals and plastics. Again to prevent criminals from converting them to fire actual live ammunition.)

I mean not every videogame character needs to be bisexual. IT's simply the issue is trying to blend videogame freedom with a character that technically has an established personality. The result is Joker kind of has a branching "personality" where you kind of pick what kind of person he is but outside of a few very limited things most of your choices simply affect stats and things and not so much personality. So what this ultimately means is Joker isn't gay but apparently his range of tastes in woman are REALLY REALLY REALLY broad. Which is kind of annoying IMO because they give so many options but you can't even temporarily date more than one and simply settle on your final choice at the end. So if there are multiple girls you want to see the date dialogue for ... you have to go to youtube because how many people are seriously going to play through the entire game multiple times for that? Seriously I get their trying to be realistic and do the whole "two timing is bad" but can't I at least start dating as much as I want and just make the valentines event when I commit? instead of the rank 9 dialogue choice where I can't turn back once I pick? So Overall I don't think there is an issue with boys not being an option as it's perfectly reasonable for Joker to simply be written as straight. but there are some flaws with the romance system mechanics wise where they tried to blend freedom with linear story telling and it doesn't fully work.
@@metazoxan2 As i may think you’re right, in my personal opinion, i do believe Atlus would’ve had an amazing opportunity for representation for the lgbtq+ community. As a bisexual person myself, i would’ve loved to see Joker and/or other characters representing us! And since the whole idea of the Phantom Thieves represents freedom and justice from a corrupt system (like, them trying to use their own justice to defend the affected ones from corrupt people), i believe it would blend in pretty easily, since it’s also something us as a community go through. But i do value your opinion! and i totally agree with the fact that the romance dialogues are kinda…boring. I did love to hang out with Ann, though. I have to admit.

Honestly, Mishima being a persona user would actually be not that bad, and I like the idea of how he can't rely on everyone anymore, but I think Kasumi kinda stole that role.
I'd have been all in on him actually being useful as more than just the confidant that gets you more side-quests and fast exp for people on the bench in a fight. I like Kasumi, but I'd have loved Mishima getting to Persona up. Or Hifumi, but that's mostly because she's my favorite of the available Waifu's. XD

To be fair, even when he's not around you're just as much of a baby about things like being too tired or 'not feeling' like making tools and stuff. Morgana just got the brunt of it for being a nag about it.
@@Yakshimara Yeah, that's something I realized when I played Persona 4 Golden after playing Persona 5 - I honestly didn't mind the limit of stuff I could do within a single day in P4 nearly as much as I did in P5, and I couldn't tell if its just because I had become numb to it after playing P5 or whatever. Then I realized its probably because in P4, it's the character himself who is stating his limits, which doesn't seem unreasonable, whereas in P5, it's Morgana telling you that YOU MUST BE TIRED 99% of the time and it's like dammit cat what do YOU know about MY limits??

@@katiaromero7149 I gotchu fam So aside from the third semester, new palaces, bundling of DLC items such as new personas and costume packs, they added in quality of life changes to make it flow better, such as giving Haru a role in the game, added some new scenes and better pacing for certain events, changed up palaces, and added new items like the Seeds for regaining SP.
I think Morgana is actually telling the protagonist to go to bed, because he knows the game traps both of them in a magic cage every night; and the only way for both of them to escape, is for them to go to sleep.

I personally really liked the last two vanilla palaces, but they're nothing compared to the final palace in royal. Truly an emotional rollercoaster, while still maintaining the hype the last palace should have. I thought the finishing blow on the big "bad" was way cooler than the one on yaldebaoth but I seem to be alone in that regard.

Dear god this, especially on your first playthrough. On my second I had a bunch of spare time thanks to having my stats already maxed and made sure to do a couple hangouts with each of my teammates, but still.
First I was all like "Ryuji ilysm why can't we date" and then "yeah okay let's head straight to kichijoji, akechi where you at!?"
IMO they should have made it so Rank 10 confidants can join you on events for other confidants. Like when you go help out the sun confidant "they man this is my best Pal Ryugi. Say hi Ryugi *Grrrrrrrrrrrr* down Ryugi bad boy. Sorry about that he's not good with adults"
But seriously while making them that interactive would probably be too much why not just have them in the background to say "Hey my rank is max but taht's all the more reason I want to hang out with you".
At the very least they should do this for a romance option

I think the best part of Sae's whole spiel before you start confidants is the one she had for Akechi in Royal (dunno if its in vanilla) where she's like. "Someone must've been giving you police intel for you to have gotten so far without being arrested" and then you do Akechi's confidant and he doesn't give you intel at all because _why the fuck would he do that_
Hell *Akechi's the reason Jokers being interrogated to begin with*
Not only did he not give you any intel, he effectively did the opposite of sorts by selling Joker to the police
Being fair, he doesn't sell you and the team to the big bad out to be immediately executed- primarily because of his hatred for the big bad, but still.

@@chipsleftwing In every palace, your threat level rises every time you fuck up something (retreating from fights, getting caught by security cameras, etc). If that threat level reaches 100%, you're kicked out of the palace and you can't go back until the next day, but Ohya lowers your threat level so that doesn't happen.
The problem is that killing enemies lowers your threat level, so you'll NEVER get kicked out of a palace if you're good at a game. Because of this, Ohya's completely useless in vanilla P5.

I didn't find any of the dungeons to be lame, but it's true that the first one was one of the best. I hated the puzzle on Okumura's palace though.

@@archetype6351 I enjoyed all of the palaces (except for Okumura's. The puzzles were fine but it was just so tedious), but it's hard to deny that each one is less interesting than the last until you get to the Casino which is like the best one in the game.
Kamoshida's Palace was a really great palace since you could see both the abuse and the effects of it first hand so you felt more connected to it, I will give him that, but all the palaces give enough substance. Also futaba's palace was incredible and a highlight of the story.

(Airsoft guns are regulated to be made of low melting point metals and plastics. Again to prevent criminals from converting them to fire actual live ammunition.)

Yeah, pretty much sums up my number one complain about Persona 5.

I mean not every videogame character needs to be bisexual.
IT's simply the issue is trying to blend videogame freedom with a character that technically has an established personality.
The result is Joker kind of has a branching "personality" where you kind of pick what kind of person he is but outside of a few very limited things most of your choices simply affect stats and things and not so much personality.
So what this ultimately means is Joker isn't gay but apparently his range of tastes in woman are REALLY REALLY REALLY broad.
Which is kind of annoying IMO because they give so many options but you can't even temporarily date more than one and simply settle on your final choice at the end. So if there are multiple girls you want to see the date dialogue for ... you have to go to youtube because how many people are seriously going to play through the entire game multiple times for that?
Seriously I get their trying to be realistic and do the whole "two timing is bad" but can't I at least start dating as much as I want and just make the valentines event when I commit? instead of the rank 9 dialogue choice where I can't turn back once I pick?
So Overall I don't think there is an issue with boys not being an option as it's perfectly reasonable for Joker to simply be written as straight. but there are some flaws with the romance system mechanics wise where they tried to blend freedom with linear story telling and it doesn't fully work.
@@metazoxan2 As i may think you’re right, in my personal opinion, i do believe Atlus would’ve had an amazing opportunity for representation for the lgbtq+ community. As a bisexual person myself, i would’ve loved to see Joker and/or other characters representing us! And since the whole idea of the Phantom Thieves represents freedom and justice from a corrupt system (like, them trying to use their own justice to defend the affected ones from corrupt people), i believe it would blend in pretty easily, since it’s also something us as a community go through.
But i do value your opinion! and i totally agree with the fact that the romance dialogues are kinda…boring. I did love to hang out with Ann, though. I have to admit.
P sure its mainly because one of the main directors at atlus thats shaped the last three persona games is mildly homophobic. Hopefully now that he's departed the next one will be less reactionary and actually give you the option, i mean if fire emblem can do it so can persona, i would think.

Honestly, Mishima being a persona user would actually be not that bad, and I like the idea of how he can't rely on everyone anymore, but I think Kasumi kinda stole that role.
I'd have been all in on him actually being useful as more than just the confidant that gets you more side-quests and fast exp for people on the bench in a fight. I like Kasumi, but I'd have loved Mishima getting to Persona up. Or Hifumi, but that's mostly because she's my favorite of the available Waifu's. XD

I love Mishima, but I can’t deny that what happened to him in this video is 100% accurate of what would have happened to him if he tried to get a persona... though now having said that out loud it would have been in fact very interesting to see him become part of the Phantom Theives, I mean he is in the game more than Haru and has a lot more character development than her

@@Yakshimara Yeah, that's something I realized when I played Persona 4 Golden after playing Persona 5 - I honestly didn't mind the limit of stuff I could do within a single day in P4 nearly as much as I did in P5, and I couldn't tell if its just because I had become numb to it after playing P5 or whatever. Then I realized its probably because in P4, it's the character himself who is stating his limits, which doesn't seem unreasonable, whereas in P5, it's Morgana telling you that YOU MUST BE TIRED 99% of the time and it's like dammit cat what do YOU know about MY limits??

So aside from the third semester, new palaces, bundling of DLC items such as new personas and costume packs, they added in quality of life changes to make it flow better, such as giving Haru a role in the game, added some new scenes and better pacing for certain events, changed up palaces, and added new items like the Seeds for regaining SP.

A lot of people in the responses answered something in the vein of "Uuhh, but Ryuji's not GAY!11!!" and... yeah, I get it. That's exactly the problem here. Atlus is willing to push you into creepy age-cap relationships, but they don't have a single same-sex romance option for AkiRen. The only reason Ryuji is "aggressively heterosexual", as one commenter put it, is because Atlus chose to write him that way to discourage the notion of him being a potential romantic partner. It was the exact same thing with the gay panic jokes in Persona 4. Atlus really doesn't like the thought of their protagonists being non-straight. It's sad but that's how it is.

I personally really liked the last two vanilla palaces, but they're nothing compared to the final palace in royal. Truly an emotional rollercoaster, while still maintaining the hype the last palace should have. I thought the finishing blow on the big "bad" was way cooler than the one on yaldebaoth but I seem to be alone in that regard.
