You can do it manually, but it is fiddly and you have to take the lock apart. Kwikset sells a "reset cradle" that makes it easier. Not sure how much it costs.

A skilled person can pick the lock, but most locksmiths will prolly just drill it out because they're lazy and/or unskilled pickers.

My concern is a thief could technically buy this tool to carry around and that'd be an easy break in.
Its used from inside. A 3rd bolt isnt bad either.

Your instructions didn't help me at all
The deadbolt is easy, but you said nothing about rekeying the doorknob.
It's exactly the same procedure.

See the youtube video posted by Kwikset. It's more thorough. The tool doesn't need to be inserted deep.
