that rock guitar cuts in, gospel organ swells, r&b horns soar, absolutely killer. and yes, the rap was good, too. beautiful interpretation. sounds like america, to me.
Great interpretation. Look at how much fun all those musicians were having! That is the magic of the Dead's music. So glad to see it live on and through others of a different era.
Pretty sure the last verse was added but I’m sure the band would approve because it’s spot on, although the original line about the pin stripe douche throwing dice still applies.
Killed it...absolute funky groovy sound explosions in my brain. From lead vocals to bass to word smithin to everything in between. As someone who saw the dead back in the eighties...i can't help but tear up a little at the profoundness of the dead to extend into future generations to be inspired and seek that which is here but unseen. To see the melding of colors living and singing together united ..."the rich man in his summer home...saying just leave well enough alone...his pants are down...his covers blown" the power of you folks togethor united in love and strength...never forget we outnumber them at least 10,000 to 1 probably a million to one!!
Absolutely incredible! I loved every second of it. I never could imagine in '77 that the music would truly never end. Thanks for keeping me dancin'! I hope Bobby heard this and just smiles, smiles, smiles.
Such a great performance, thanks guys. I played this today for my classroom music students and they loved it. It really shows the power of collaboration and mindful listening.
Awesome is what this is!.....the rap if you want to call it that only added to the groove, energy and all around fun from the rest of the band. It also gave the lead a break. This is no easy song to play trump and sing. Awesome job guys thank you!
Omigosh. This may be the definitive version for me now. I got to see the Dead in their day but this has all the energy and dancingness and musicality and more and holy smokes it's clear you love the song. Just oustanding. I gotta see me some West End Blend.
This. Is. Perfection. I love everything about this song, this band, this video, this vibe. I could write a tome in reaction to it, but I'll sum it up thusly: Wow. Just...wow.

Not an easy song to play, and they just killed it! Truly great rendition! Wow!
Damn he just rapped through the bridge that was awesome! Jerry smiling down
AWESOME watching the whole band FEELING the rhythm 1ST, that is how you really lay a track down.
Wow! The Guitarist knows what it is about!
He is deep into it, isn't he?
He shreds it
Great job folks. This is the point of this. Making it your own. Not sounding like the Dead. You have me chills.
The amount of fun theyre having got me tapping my leg
Man it got me out my chair dancing. The kids are alright 😊
Great interpretation. Look at how much fun all those musicians were having! That is the magic of the Dead's music. So glad to see it live on and through others of a different era.

Awesome. A little bit of everything in there too. Love the horns, the funk, and damn that dudes voice kills it.
Great rendition hands down one of best I’ve seen
Totally awesome. If you slow down and listen to the wraps it's a good message and well timed. The words to this song ring true today.
Pretty sure the last verse was added but I’m sure the band would approve because it’s spot on, although the original line about the pin stripe douche throwing dice still applies.

great job! I'm not a fan of rap, but in a weird way I liked it mixed in. I'll be adding this to my collection.
