Love it or hate it, this album is pretty good for the circumstances it was made under, that being that it was made on an ipad in a month. You're allowed to have this album as your favourite, you're allowed to not like this album at all. On one hand, it's an interesting look into really simplistic, at times, random music, It almost feels like you're listening to a half finished song, which can be really interesting. On the other hand, sometimes things sound a little bare, especially compared to some really great songs on other Gorillaz Albums. Point is, everyone has their own opinion, and you're not disgracing Gorillaz by not liking this, and you're not disgracing their other albums by liking it.
I'm not going to praise an album for being made in a toaster, if the songs are bad. This album is bad, not Gorillaz quality at all. Many people force themselves to love it for being generally hated, but it is hated for a reason, a genuine reason.
@@slice0fsoup yeah I'd like to see him make an ipad album these days. The apps he used are dinosaurs that haven't been supported in almost an entire decade
Just got my fiancé a physical copy of this album for Christmas. He about lost his mind. This album is rare and difficult to find physical copies of. It's sad because this is a really great album. It's definitely very different from other Gorrilaz albums, but it's still awesome.
It's rare because nobody bought it because it was universally panned. It languished in discount bins and bargain stores for months on end until it was just thrown in the dumpster.
Next time you're driving across your state or the country at night, pop in this album. Feel the music flow throughout you as you take in all the glowing trails of other vehicles. Get out and look up at the stars when California and the Slipping of the Sun comes on. This album was made on the road, and made for the road. I can recommend no better way to enjoy it.
This album is my favorite, it's so underrated and it's beautiful It's ashamed that this album didn't get so much love & attention like other Gorillaz albums back then and the newer ones right now
Ditto, one of my most prized records. Its not on Spotify in Ireland despite all their other albums being, and I can't carry a record player around so I either have to use a vpn with Spotify or just come to UA-cam, either way Warner and gorillaz ain't getting the revenue from me they should be, cos old idiots and outdated regional restrictions in a digital age, deeerp. I would argue that The Now Now is a perfect sister album to this. The now now and the fall > the last two main albums. I think damon works better when he's just enjoying the jams and not thinking too hard about em.
I just love how this album is the perfect transition between old school Gorillaz, which will always be my favorite, and newer Gorillaz a.k.a. Plastic Beach era, even if it's a little bit more plastic-beachy. It's just fantastic how 2D (Damon) managed to create all of this in his iPad. Also incredible is the evolution of Damon as a musician, ever since Blur and nowadays with a totally different music style. My heart will always belong with the self-titled album and Demon Days, but I got to admit he's doing an incredible work out there.
Hmm, I always considered Plastic Beach to be 'old-school' Gorillaz. I see the transition as everything after - Humanz, The Now Now, and Strange Timez. Honestly, I feel like Humanz is rubbish. Glad they found their way again after that though. How do you feel about Laika Come Home?
Wait, what? Plastic Beach is older than The Fall, son The Fall cannot be a transition between old school Gorillaz and Plastic Beach era, whatever that means.
Yeah, this album has alot of crossfading. The only songs that don't start when the previous song is still going and don't play when the next song starts are Hillbilly Man, Amarillo, and Seattle Yodel.
I think this is an excellent album. You can tell the main songwriter was in a melancholy mood at the time(as in, I think he may have been upset with the States at the time, especially TX). But Revolving Doors, Shy-Town and Hillbilly Man are classic Rizllaz trax.
Welp... Found this album, life is complete. That's what I get for not paying attention. I could've been loving this for years instead of just the past few hours.

I'm happy this is a less liked album, actually. Probably because it was purposefully made to be cheaper and worse sounding. In the Gorillaz lore, to people who don't know it. Since Noodle was presumably dead, robot noodle wasn't created yet, and Russell was still missing, Murdoc had no choice but to kidnap 2D and bring him to Plastic Beach to make him another album all by himself and with very little equipment. That is one of the many reasons why 2D most likely has his high levels of anxiety, skiddish nature, and PTSD.

Honestly The Now Now has a feel similar to this album and I really like both, something about the smaller number of guests and maybe a more unified theme? The songs flowing from one to the other. On the other hand, this feels closer to the first album and that's also very good. Raw like an uncensored live interview. It is what it is.
This album and the then freshness of Ambien used to give me such wild ideas for an epic Superman quadrilogy. To be youthfully optimistic beyond all rationale again
When I first listened to this album I didn't pay much attention I thought it was discreetly good but nothing more. Then I fell in love only with some songs. And now I just love to listen to the entire album while studying or relaxing. I think it is a very interesting album that has to be known little by little like a discover and in my opinion it has nothing to envy to the other albums that are more famous and appreciated. They are all wonderful in their own way, including The Fall.
Like Gorillaz self-titled had G-Sides and Demon Days had D-Sides, I always felt like The Fall was more of a P-Sides for Plastic Beach than a fully fledged album. Still a great album, but never felt like the official 4th album due to the nature of it being understated and being made and released in the same year as Plastic Beach (Phase 3). Gotta love those road trip vibes though. :)
this album is so damn underrated despite how amazing it is and i dont think people give it enough credit at all. also i might be wrong but i feel like this album has some biblical meaning to it as well (considering its called the fall)
it got made over the course of a single month while on tour... ...that month was October... ...so, more likely, it is called "The Fall" literally because it basically is the musical diary of a month *in fall*
I may not love the album, but I love how insane it is to create this whole thing on an ipad during a road trip. Maybe shouldn't have been studio album 4, but it's still impressive.
California and the slipping of the sun...... it may seem weird and quite unnoticed. but it means the most purest thing ever. 2D has very low points in life (my opinion) and sometimes he cant get up from the pit and finds himself suffering for things he didn't really cause... 2D is very roughed up. but inside. he's a shiny pearl. righteousness writhes within. California and the slipping of the sun starts out gloomy and appears to be melancholy at first.... but as you get to know it.... happiness, hope, EXPRESSION, AGRESSION, OPTIMISM RISES WITHIN AND REVEALS ITSELF... a beautiful symbol giving you a reason to appreciate life and that every end is a beginning. 2D is California and the slipping of the sun.
I don't see this album get talked about much even though it's one of my favourites, I'm pretty new to Gorillaz, so I don't have the same feelings towards Demon Days that most people seem to have, Demon Days is not a bad album by any means I just think it might get boosted higher because of people's own personal feelings towards it, even I heard stuff like Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc on the radio back then all the time like most people probably did. I understand why those songs are so loved it's just a bit sad that some other really good albums get overlooked, a lot of people don't seem to like The Now Now or Humanz that much, while Humanz is a mixed bag even for me I can't think of a "bad" song on The Now Now album, so I always wonder why people overlook that one.
Yes there is nostalgia associated with Demon Days, however... It reached #1 on the British album charts, and 6 other countries It went SIX TIMES platinum in the UK Double platinum in the US Feel Good Inc won a grammy Every music magazine at the time listed it as one of the top 100 albums of the decade It charted top 10 in 22 different countries, even non English speaking countries like Mexico, Italy, Japan, Greece, Germany, etc. In short, despite being undeniably experimental, it was a worldwide phenomenon. Pretty rare.
the only people that hate this are the very very small very vocal minority of people who swear against it, a lot, and I mean a lot of people like this album, only those who are insanely invested into gorillaz gives a shit, they make goood music. that should be where it ends, but people take things way too personally.

Pretty sure it's to avoid the copyright from the songs. But agree it sounds more dope.
Excelente grupo musical, buscando siempre la innovación musical

VIBRATION...FREQUENCY......POWER
this album is so damn underrated despite how amazing it is and i dont think people give it enough credit at all. also i might be wrong but i feel like this album has some biblical meaning to it as well (considering its called the fall)
I don't think it has any hidden meaning Damon was pretty much forced to make a 2nd album after plastic beach cuz of a contract he had signed
@@random_username_thats_not_used it doesnt mean that it cant be interpreted in any way
it got made over the course of a single month while on tour...
...that month was October...
...so, more likely, it is called "The Fall" literally because it basically is the musical diary of a month *in fall*
@@Silaan 🤷♀️ i just like interpreting it that way
não esperava que esse álbum fosse ser bom assim, mal vejo pessoas falando sobre ;^;
Eu descobri ele esses dias tbm e to ouvindo o tempo todo
Block out the world chilling on a rock listening to u jams u can not b from this, world dude lots of love to u guys
Obriga por disponibilizar!!!
This music is too chill I love it

Better than humanz and most of song machine
This entire album was made on a fucking ipad in the year 2010 like wtf gorillaz are goated for that
MUSIC SOOTHES THE SOUL
This album is a classic, one of gorillaz best
i used to not have youtube or a phone or tablet and back then i listened to this album always everyday twice a day
I don't see this album get talked about much even though it's one of my favourites, I'm pretty new to Gorillaz, so I don't have the same feelings towards Demon Days that most people seem to have, Demon Days is not a bad album by any means I just think it might get boosted higher because of people's own personal feelings towards it, even I heard stuff like Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc on the radio back then all the time like most people probably did.
Make sure you get to see their D-side and G-side albums.
Yes there is nostalgia associated with Demon Days, however...
It reached #1 on the British album charts, and 6 other countries
It went SIX TIMES platinum in the UK
Double platinum in the US
Feel Good Inc won a grammy
Every music magazine at the time listed it as one of the top 100 albums of the decade
It charted top 10 in 22 different countries, even non English speaking countries like Mexico, Italy, Japan, Greece, Germany, etc.
In short, despite being undeniably experimental, it was a worldwide phenomenon. Pretty rare.
Thanks m8 nice story didnt know.. gotta have this one! ;)
They could never make me hate this album. By far my favourite from gorillaz
amo este álbum :e
the only people that hate this are the very very small very vocal minority of people who swear against it, a lot, and I mean a lot of people like this album, only those who are insanely invested into gorillaz gives a shit, they make goood music. that should be where it ends, but people take things way too personally.
Revisiting the album after a few years, holds up pretty well! First track has strong Actress vibes.
i like that unfittered noice
the best part is 0:00 to 43:27
but for real 7:41 is the best one out of the album followed by 4:15
Personally, 36:07 has always been my favorite off this album. Really like 7:41 as well though.
