WOW !!!! Thanks for sharing this spectacular performance by Dave and Rob's band. My brother and I have followed DS since day one and loved his musical journey. The best part is his signature sound is a result of adjustments he needed to make to play the saxophone after having polio as a young boy. It's amazing what he overcame to become a treasured musician!
I have 27 years gigging with a Tenor. Sanborn plays ballads better than most like Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Try A LIttle Tenderness etc. I also love his this tune you put up here.. Don't get me wrong, he does everything better than most. but I'm not into the Jazz Fusion stuff. It does nothing for me. I dig this: ua-cam.com/video/WI10-S0baJM/v-deo.html
David's 'Pearls' CD from 1995 is one of my favorite. Wish he had recorded more big band stuff like that. I transcribed his version of 'This Masquerade' for my band.
Wow! David Sanborn is straight taking us to church with this solo!
You better believe it! 😎

Do you have the video of the rest of this concert? I'd love to see it!
Maybe I'll share the rest and post the concert in it's entirety if enough people show interest.
