I bought the schematic but feel a little fooled that the look inside video is behind another paywall. Shouldn‘t the schematics be provided in a way that clearly shows where to add additional components to the 386? That’s frustrating and disapointing…

Started a build with a few differences. Top in/out jacks with common ground point on the back of the presence pot. About 1/2 way done, I'll let you know how it turns out.
You fkin rule, man!! My go to channel for diy fun stuff like that rotary cap switcher. I've made a few of these little pcb fuzz pedals, and they can really get dirty. Nicely done 🤘🤙🖖
I've built a ton of pedals using discreet components. I usually steer away from SMD/IC builds but this one is interesting. I've ordered the boards so I can hear what this can do.

Thanks for the video. I have been building pedals for 4 years and I have found it is cheaper to buy pedals. I am in Australia and to build a pedal Costa around 40$. I have bought new pedals from 16$. (10$US)

I already had a few of these pcbs in a couple of the stereo ones as well that I was going to build into something like pedals. Glad you went ahead of me. I bought your schematics to see how you did it or the AI did it. With your tweaks I will build it on a breadboard first see what I like. I had tried to build this PCB into a guitar to act as a preamp for humbuckers when you split them into a single coil but I had anomalies with the power line and the common ground for battery and signal. If only there was a push pull switch with four sets of contacts instead of three I could have made it work I could have worked around it with a toggle switch but I did not want to add an extra thing to do to get what you're looking for once you go into single coil by the push pull. On a stride it would have been okay to add a toggle switch and do the split with the toggle and the separate the battery supplies from the signal grounds. Anyways keep putting out the good stuff I always liked the stimulation
@@WaylonMcPhersonGuitar yea I figured using a 750k would alter the presence control which I like the way it is. Any suggestions for getting a touch more output level that won’t alter the sound? I guess a B100k instead of the stock A109k output pot would only give a perceived volume boost not an actual increase in level

I'm getting a decent distortion sound out of my build, but my presence and drive don't do anything. I feel that with my limited experience with schematics, I have missed something.
Love it, great sounding pedal! But unfortunately the build instructions lack a lot of detail, so as a beginner this is really tough to follow and figure out how exactly to build this. Also please show the entire signal chain when demoing a pedal, in particular for dirt. Hard to gauge how this would sound with one’s own setup.

You say the 47 ohm resistor goes across lugs 1 and 2 of the drive pot. But your schematic indicates those lugs are shorted, with the 47 ohm resistor before lug 1. Or am I reading it incorrectly?
I just got all my parts, but I am a bit confused. Your schematic for the bypass switch doesn't seem to match what I see in the video. I just need some clarification. If I'm right, when looking at the bottom of the switch, I had to flip the diagram and then turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The diagram must have been a top view with the switch laid horizontal instead of vertical right?

I’m also confused by the 3pdt wiring on the schematic. I don’t see any connection to control the power supply to the PCB. There are lots of true bypass examples online though.

@@WaylonMcPhersonGuitar my experienced has shown me nothing but headaches when working with the lm386 . particularly unpleasant artifacts found in the release . if one does not sustain a note and wait one will not experience what i am on about . mind you i never tried the full pcbs . all of my experiences where from building lm386 based amps and drive circuits from scratch . your demos sound very good ! hats off hats very cool .

Hi, Yes they are written correctly, the A is the taper so 100KA is a 100 Kilo Ohms Audio Taper and 1MA is a 1 Meg Ohms Audio Taper, cheers!
