- How do you know you are ready for the driving test? I talk about the amount of hours it takes a person to learn to drive. I also talk about how you can spot if you are ready to take the driving test. Should you be taking the driving test or changing the date.

Even though i've already passed my test i still enjoy watching these videos:)
Haris Naeem Me too they always help. We can always improve and Travis advice is always good. The day da video he did helped me pass 1st time.
I passed today with 7 minors!! Thank you so so so much for all your videos - I live in Northern Ireland so I didn't have to wait 10 days in between tests- I failed twice and one of them was yesterday, so I booked in for this morning and after watching your videos all night I passed! I can't believe it thank you!!!
+Chloe Campbell congratulations on passing. Safe driving
Passed first time with just 21hrs, been watching your videos for a while now and it helped me calm down. Specially the video about the nerves.
+Mota Gainz excellent
+Mota Gainz congratulations
Passed my test first time with 1 minor. Thank you for your videos and tips. Really helped me.
As a driving instructor, Gabriel thats a good test, well done!
I've got my test in 2 weeks so nervous about it but I'm craming in lots of driving practice with my instructor so hopfully I'll pass my test your videos have really helped thanks for posting them x
+Learn-to-drive Travis (Driving) thank you
jade mf watch Travis's video on test day and what to do. For preparation it helped me a lot.
+Joolz1982 I'll go watch it thank you
Did you pass?
passed my test first time today, your videos really helped!
+Hannah Chivers congratulations
Watching driving videos still helps even when you’ve already passed
Good comment
I took about 40 hrs and one/two weeks with my Dad to be ready for test. I booked my test to force my instructor to get me ready, and checked he was happy with that. I felt the mock tests I had were harsher than real test in some ways due to chosen route. For me if you feel instructor is not helping you progress fast enough change instructors imo. For me it was good having x3 different instructors to see style and pace of their teaching.
Joolz1982 I had 40 hours with 2 different instructors. My instructor refused to book my test saying that I'm not ready... I haven't done all the manoeuvres, emergency stop or dual carriageways.. I'm thinking of changing my instructor.. ;(
Change sounds good I think you should. Get a new instructor I found smaller company best, tell new instructor I wanna do this, this and this and take my test.
Yes I'm ready.
Good luck
Great advice! I took my practical early Apr and failed because I messed up my controlled stop. Only 6 minors tho ,
Hollie Mae sorry to hear about your driving test. Good luck on your next one.
Hello! I want to thank you a lot because I passed my practical with no faults 2 days ago! You helped me out a lot. Thank you, I will keep watching your vids and maybe talk about cars for new drivers and how to get cheap insurance
Mike Oxlong congratulations on passing.
I would like to go diving lessons with you how I do contact you?
Brilliant advice. Thank you for this very clear and informative video.
I didn’t say this but for the driving test you need to have great skills in place but to pass you can in addition hyper focus for it to make sure you have no errors, it’s only like 5-15 minutes in most places and then you’re done for life.
thanks for the tips
Hi , I have got 32 hours lessons, and have booked my test for next month, but my instructor told me that I am not ready for it . !!!!
Ask your instructor what areas you need to improve
excellent video
thank you...
I have only had 3 1and half hours and got my test booked for beginning of April
did you pass
Great videos as always.Really helped me pass first time on only 20hours. 👍🏿
UNLESHED FOR FITNESS Same, how many minors did you get?
Unfortunately 5 minors but still a pass!! 👍🏿
Hi Travis, I got like 32 days left for my driving test and I’m hoping I’ll pass first time but I need to get better at manoeuvre such as reverse bay park and Parrarl Park...
Could you do dual carriageways and what the examiner would expect your you. Thanks
Try this from my Learning to drive play lists

Learn-to-drive Travis I did a mock test recently I got 3 minors
I paid for 30 hours iv done 23 hours with my instructor and he's now said I'm ready to book my test to take within my last 7 hours that iv paid for . but also done lots of private driving and on off driving for years with !my partner before those block with an instructor . done 2 mock test that iv had 4minors and 5 minors on the other
smurfyhh all sounds good. Expect a manoeuvre in the first 5 minutes of your test. Good luck.
pretty spot on with all of them so just touch wood i dont do anything i dont normally under pressure
I failed my mock test 3 times I had to cancel my driving test I was not ready
So confused now
Work on the mistakes with your instructor and try and keep positive
can you do a video about when and where to use handbrake
This should help

Gonna be one of those guys who brags about passing their test but trust guys, it’s piss compared to what you think it’s gonna be like
How do you feel about the pupil doing their test in their own car does it effect anything?
+Daniel Roberts I am happy for them to take the test in their own car as long as they are at a good standard of driving. The examiner will get nervous if that pupil is dangerous and would probably stop the test.
I would like to know if I drive my cousin car holding L plates on them would I get fine for that ? He's a full time license holder .
Head Strong gurung u would need to be insured to drive it
+Head Strong gurung if you are a learner and drive a car with L plates on with a supervisor in the passenger seat who is 21 years plus and has 3 years full licence holder and are insured then you are legal
Wavey alex yeah that's what I was wondering because I have got no insurance and paying 50 quid a week to my instructor was quite expensive . That means I can't drive my cousin car until I get insured ?
Learn-to-drive Travis my cousin is a full license holder and insured . But I have got just provisional license and no insurance at all . So could you correct if I keep him on the passenger seat and drive will that be legal ? Please correct me
Head Strong gurung pretty much yh unfortunately because police can prosecute u for driving with no insurance. Although I never got insurance on my dads car and got away with it 😉
Do you think it's fair travis if I failed my test due to a serious on following distance as I was in traffic n was said I was to close for the weather conditions as it was raining but I always use the tip so that I can see the bottom of the car tyres let me know
Husshin Miah the examiner must of thought you were near to fail you. Like they say if it's raining it doubles. Good luck on your next one
Learn-to-drive Travis yeah I understand that is true just a silly mistake of course thanks looking forward to some new content if it's okay try and do a video on car insurance and what the best first car really thanks
I think I've done about 40 hours now and am getting sick of it because my instructor has just dragged it out which has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. He's said constantly that I shouldn't worry about getting a test booked before Christmas as there will be plenty of cancellations. (I really need to drive as I've just graduated and am stuck at home in the middle of the sticks without a job). Low and behold he has put it off and now says that I won't be able to get one this side of Christmas but has had the cheek to asked me to do another block booking of £200. I really don't want to as I've spent so much already and am running so low on funds. I've not consulted him but I've booked one of the first available tests on the 10th of January. I'm thinking about getting insured on my dad's car or my own for a month and just doing 1 hour a week with my instructor on top to keep things topped up. Any thoughts on this Travis? Cheers!
If your instructor thinks you are ready now or before Christmas. Then use the cancellation services.
You go online, book your driving test the usual way through DVSA. Then go onto a cancellation service website like genie or cancellation 4you. But check with your instructor that they are ok to do this. You should be able to get one within a week.
Using your dads car to help improve is a great way.
@@JamesTravis Thanks very much for the advice Travis! Think I'm going to get on my dad's insurance. My instructor has turned around and said he's off on holiday for three weeks so won't be able to do my test. In addition to that he's said he wants me to do it on the 21st of Jan as it suits him. That's not ideal for me at all so I'm going to have my last lesson with him this Friday and look for another instructor! Shame I don't have an instructor like you Trav! Would have been passed weeks ago I think.
Good luck. Hopefully you will get it all sorted
Should my instructor be screaming at me when I make silly mistakes?
no ... your paying him to teach you, so he should expect pupils to make mistakes without shouting at you !!!
But my test is booked so I thought it's because of that and I'm making silly mistakes so he's getting mad but he's really putting me off learning he makes me cry when I've finished my lessons and come home😩

After a few lessons in a different car you would be fine if changing car worries you as that did me at first. I had x3 instructors sometimes they all seemed to get frustrated at me. They would occasionally raise their voice a bit. Thought this was just me but to be honest sometimes I think they overreacted a bit (I never crashed on lesson). But if your not happy with instructor I'd advise to change, I went from a large company to a smaller local firm and it was much much better.
Just seen yr reply above you should 100% change instructors after yr test if you don't pass, or even if you have time before your test and re book though someone else or manually book it yourself.
he still shouldnt be shouting at you !! every learner makes mistakes even after passing their test but that doesnt mean he should be making you feel like that hunni .i guess its either carry on if your test is soon or dont be affraid to switch !
smurfyhh well my test is extremely soon and if I do fail I will defiantly change i used to really enjoy driving and couldn't wait to do my test and it's now at the point where I don't want to drive anymore he's making me scared of driving☹️
