Coating Carp Leads

- How to apply lead coating powder to carp leads, the end process after you make your own carp leads. This process involves heating the bare carp lead then dunking it in lead coating powder and re-heating until the powder melts, once cooled it will form a tough plastic coating. I've used an inline carp lead for this demo but the same principle applies for distance or arlesey bomb type leads.

nice that the first video i find on coating leads is yours, cheers marker
cheers phil, it's not a hard job by any means and you also have the option to mix and match to whatever lakebed you're fishing over if you want to take it a bit further ;)
been using the fox lead clips and im dumping the lead on the cast with them. lost 13 last session and 5 the session previously. changed my clips for this session. but its defo time to start making my own ! sick of the carp tax on everything
i know what you mean phil, its expensive when you have to dump them all the time, if you do your own a couple of 4 in 1 moulds will cover almost everything, it cost me about £40-£50 quid to get started with one mould but I ended up buying more to cover all options, its an expensive outlay but if you go through them at the rate you are you'll soon be making savings...plus you can sell a few if needed :)
Mark Carp where can I order moulds that will be shipped to the usa
not sure rob, I got my moulds from ebay, it might be worth emailing a uk seller to find out how much the shipping will cost?, you can always make that back by selling a few on when you've made them 👍
Is it expensive mark to start making your own leads ?
no billy it's not expensive mate, a lead mould is £17-£20 on ebay, you'll need a pan to boil the lead in, some heat resistant gloves, swivels or lead inserts depending on the type of lead you want to make, and a face mask for breathing, a file, a pair of cutters from trimming off the funnel, I don't have a mask but I make mine outdoors in the garden so it's not too bad for ventilation...and some lead coating powder, it cost me £50-£60 to set myself up and it's all available on ebay👍
@@MarkCarp cheers mark enjoying all the videos pal aswell
@@billywalker8581 cheers billy👍 I would also add that you can do the odd lead order to recoup the outlay, I made leads for a few people until i'd paid for the equipment, it's a crappy job making them though so I wouldn't want to do it for a living. the lead comes from the local scrap yard cheap👍
I use bar b que canes they burn but easy cut off
Just seen ure inline leads...do u sell em.
sorry paul I don't sell mine, its a dirty job making them and I only do small batches for myself as and when I need them. I have a mate called mick wood and he does them, his facebook page is called 'leadz'👍
done 30 today to blend in on the new water. thx
blimey phil, 30 would last me quite a few years...lol...you won't have to do another batch for a while mate :)
