    electric rack is more simple, no fluids to deal with and leaves more space to work around. Enjoyed all your videos / tips.

      Yea a lot simpler to do but it's safe to say I have done more electric racks than hydraulic ones.

    Programming the steering rack with Honda authorization? Sounds a lot like Honda is gatekeeping the ability to repair these vehicles.

      Dunno why we have to write in the ecu key. If they just make it plug and play and all you need to do is calibrate the steering angle sensor after once it's installed is how it should be.

    Do you ever get older vehicles with sub frame bolts that are seized in the bushings? What do you do?

    • @theoffroadingmechanic
      @theoffroadingmechanic  5 місяців тому +3

      Like on the Ridgeline rear frame recall? Where the long subframe bolts I've had going into the body just seized. All it took was patients penetrating fluid and a torch to heat up the bolt but not to long where it could melt the bushing around it kept slowly heating it and impacting back and forth and it has come out fine

    Not a good vehicle to own breaking down when still new, If the vehicle has only 50 thousand K's on it that means you will be replacing it 5 times before it gets to 250 thousand K's on it.

    I'm looking for a new Civic. Currently driving an 8th gen (Europe) FK1 with i-DSI engine (L13A7). Would you recommend the 10th gen or the 11th gen hybrid?

      @theoffroadingmechanic  5 місяців тому +1

      We didn't get the hybrid here in Canada. We got the insight that only came out for 2019-2022 and stopped producing them. So we don't see many around.
