megaman is villager's worst MU imo. You saw in this matchup how ranai was able to space rosa out with bair because of her massive hitbox. Still a super annoying matchup tho.
This matchup is so interesting. Villager's slingshots are a huge nuisance for Rosa due to her large height. This means that Rosa is forced to crouch and win with pokes. Also, his range is a great counter to Luma. Alternatively, Rosa has the ability to shutdown such a great option in Villager's side b with down b. Down b also stops stray fairs and bairs and even aids her bowling ball weak recovery. However, it's evident that villager can play around this as shown by Ranai's excellent axe at the end. It's such a 'you need to know the matchup' type matchup

But Ranai showed the matchup is winnable. It simply looks like a "disgusting" thing to deal with as villager, whose B-air, F-air, rocket, tree, F-smash, and pocket are all countered by it. I'm so glad Ranai did really well at such a stacked tourney. He played every single MU and top player like he has been spending months grinding and studying them. Props to him for getting top 5 and proving everyone who slept on him wrong! Same with Kame and Ally.

Honestly he has such good control and precision with villager it's unreal, he's what all villager mains are trying to be and is my favourite smasher.

Tree disjoints the downtilt. He planted the tree near the edge and that causes the tree to extend the hitbox beneath the stage

I'm so glad he got to play and beat Dabuz. Genesis 3 left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but I knew Ranai would bounce back here at Evo.

Ranai came into that set with a game plan. He played Dabuz differently than he did back in Genesis 3. But I really wanted his rematch vs Zero.
