Wondered where you’d gone! UA-cam recommended your channel to me. You’re best off out of Artisan, said all along Jordan is clueless and using Artisan to try and boost his ego, makes my skin crawl when I stumble over their videos. Wish you every success mate!
Great to see you back John. No to intumescent sealant for me - not needed and a pain if you need to go back and run new cables in. Its understandable to want to take on every job when you start out and to worry about letting people down, but you need to put yourself first. If you are genuinely too ill to work, then let the customer know and get better asap. You are allowed to be ill and people will understand. If they don't then they're not worth dealing with. Once you are up and running its easier to say no to the work that you don't want to be doing. Getting the van sign written permanently or getting magnetic signs is the way to go as far as I'm concerned. I've had plenty of work off the van signs and it looks more professional to me.

I'm delighted that you're doing well John. I hope 2025 is a great year for you. I appreciated your candid discussion around being made redundant and it's great that you can wish Artisan well for the sake of the others working there. Looking forward to more of your videos, they are always very informative 😀
Hi John, great to see you again, onwards and upwards. I don't watch many of your previous employers video's since Cory left. But wondered where you was.
John, been a huge fan since you first appeared on Artisan, your sense of humour has had me laughing a few times. It's great to see that you have had a good year, please keep up with the uploads and don't stop rambling.. All the best for 2025.
Glad to see you get that garage a bit more organised! 😜 Fingers crossed for many more purple patches & the business continuing to grow. Always enjoy your rambling videos 😂 - keep them coming (please)!
Mate im 6mins in and I’ve already agreed with most points youve said. Currently trying to find some sub contracting to fit round my own work /business( 2-3 days ) a week, isnt easy though very tricky to find that sort of contract! And also im keen on growing at the same time. Also totally agree on the management from companies, they have no idea especially when most quotes are done online. You get to site and its totally different and doesnt work with the time theyve allowed. I stupidly went employed for the first time ( due to relocating ) after being a sole trader trader for years. Never again. Got to be the most stressfull time of my life. Back to sub contracting and building my own company best thing ive done not looking back! By the way youve gained a follow keep it up! Update got to the end of the video. Exactly same happened to me mate… absolutely crazy how similar our stories have been. You gonna smash it keep it up mate 👍🏻
Well done mate keep up the good work , it will pay off , like they say you only get out what you put into it, all the best for 2025 and your next year 👏
New subscriber here. Really enjoy your video style, don’t change it too much, a lot of similar channels are too polished, I think you might benefit from being different from the other channels. Laid back and real. Liking it 👍
I really like the 'fixings' stuff. If there's a simple job to do (that you don't need to be a qualified electrician) like losening off a fitting to decorate (let's say a pendant) and the fixings crumble to shit it's good to see how to put it back up properly.
Thanks John, you give a good insight to the end of your time at Artisan. Regarding your question about fire-proofing of CUs or not, I do not use intumescent gunk, if needed, I put a intumescent pad that comes with self adhesive tape to stick it on the back of the CU when doing rear entry. I dont bother otherwise, when I use compression gland entry or fireproof Wiska grommets. BTW... what the F!!!! is a "Purple patch of work" (38'05") matey? 😂
@@John_Faultless Thanks for that John. It may well be a very popular expression that I'm the only muppet who hasn't heard of it yet. Do you know WTF is happening with Sunday evening Electricians podcast? The amount of times I have wasted waiting for it is getting me down?
This is a sensible approach. The reg is for the consumer unit itself, people are going way over the top fire masticing up every hole and it’s a nightmare for anyone else working on it after.
Need to have a network of folks that if you for some reason cannot do something you could call in that can to do quality work in your place. Although that doesn't help the whole put food on your table problem, I know that very much myself.
Am I right in thinking you worked for an energy supplier or DNO before Artisan? Some educational content on service heads, fuses, breaking capacities, etc. would be useful. I’ve looked a few times and never found much content about them online, only a few forum posts here and there.
He'd been there the least amount of time so Jordan wouldn't have had to go through the lengthy consultency process. So it was probably not about who was the most qualified, experienced electrician but more what was 'easiest'. Watching the most recent Artisan videos it has become the 'Jordan' show. The others don't seem to be in them at all now. So much for 'the team'.
No to intumescent sealing. Used to sub to a mate for 3 or 4 days a week and every time the phone would ring with people wanting jobs done, but couldn't do them as I was subbing.
Can you still get 'magnetic' van adverts? If it's a real problem round your way, it could be an answer ~ having said that, round here you see vans peeled open even without signwriting, simply to see what's in them! (Or they watch and follow you...)
If it was me I would do magnetic signs John so you can take them off night time Stop your van from getting broken into Something you could look at Good luck, John.
Sign write the van mate 100%. Get so much work from it and free advertising. Plus makes you look so much more professional. Not being funny a van is a target unfortunately regardless.

good for you mate, what sort of hrly rate do you charge ?
no offence to the other guys at Artisan, but i thought you would have been the last one they would have gotten rid of.

Fair play to you John, onwards and upwards, wishing you every success in your enterprise ☘️🇮🇪☘️
Best thing about being self-employed: Winning the employee of the year award.
I took a year off to work for a company, but that didn't work out.

Never watch artisan when your and Cory went. Helmet lords
Yes an unmarked White van with free candy.
🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Why don't we organise a subscribers day? We'll come over, tidy the garage and share a bbq and a cupboard tea!!??

Can anyone tell me if John left or laid off from Artisan ?
@daveballantyne4899 The answer is in the video mate. And in part one's title 😂
